My husband is a US Citizen and we are going to start the visa journey for my son (mexican citizen), we decided to do the I 130 for stepson instead the K2 and avoid AOS, wondering if anyone has gone thru this process and give us some advice, also, I would really apreciate if someone knows what documents we need to file and what time of the process we need to send an affidavit of support??
I understand the fee is 355 dollars, should we include the check in the first package?
How long would the process take?? My son would have his interview in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico when the time comes.

How old was he when you married.

My son is now 18 years old, when my husband and I got married he was 17.

So qualifies as a child of the USC and is under 21 so no wait for a visa number.

CDJ processing time I think is about a year, but it will be on the links.

What does it mean "but it will be on the links"?? Could you please explain to me?? I also did the the same, my husband applied petition for my son, he is 14 years old now.

As far as I know CDJ interviews take about a year, K1 excepted.
