You *do* know that AR is a distinct possibility after the interview, right ? Many, many ME/NA cases are sent for additional processing/security checks. Sometimes this takes just a few weeks, but it's not uncommon for them to take several months. So don't count your chickens before they're hatched.

Anyway best of luck for a smooth sail through the consulate, but don't book the tickets until the visa is in hand !

I think that is why the OP mentioned "If all goes well..." meaning an instant approval and no AP/AR which does happen in Casa.

thanks for busting my bubble people but i have no idea what ar or op is. and the fact that every, absolutly everything has run smooth i know he will get approval and will be here in 30 days. i've always had a sixth sense kind of thing and 995 of the time i am right

AP means "administrative processing" which every one goes through after an interview. Sometimes it lasts days, sometimes months and even sometimes years. I don't believe anyone (especially males from a MENA country) gets the visa same day. Sure they may get an approval but then the case goes under processing and review. If there's a name hit then the case may be sent to Washington DC for security checks. Be aware that since you are dealing with Casa that denials are very prevelant with this embassy. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

wasn't trying to bust your bubble...just wondered where you got the 30 days from. Heck maybe you're right....let's hope so! good.gif

seems i know a case also that everything ran smoothly no problems sailed thru everything until......hopefully yours will go well, good luck always but as advised dont buy the ticket yet, its not as easy as just sailing thru going to the interview get the visa and leave...

We're not trying to burst your bubble. It's just that we've seen a whole lot of people go through this process (and most of them successfully, I want to point out) -- and we don't want you to set yourself up for a big disappointment if it doesn't work out quite as quickly as you've planned.

I see you're a fairly new member here. Please take some time to check other timelines of members who processed through Casablanca. You might do a search for the "Visas in Hand" thread here in this forum -- you can see other Casablanca cases tracked over the last 2 years and how long of an AR they faced (if any.) Some cases went very quickly, but many others did not. This may give you a better idea of what you might expect.

I hope that your hunch is correct and everything works out as quickly as you wish. We'll be here to cheer you on either way. Sending you lots of luck and ME/NA Mojo !

Congratulations on getting the date and Good Luck with the interview. good.gif good.gif

It's quite possible to get a visa with a week to 10 days from teh interview in casa, but there are significant numbers of cases that take a little longer to process up to 6 months.

There is nothing to be discouraged about though. It's just a tough wait because of the unknown time factor.

I hope your interview goes well...there is a thread started by sarahandhicham about going through casa with some really recent updates by couples havign just gone through the interview.
Michaela_Hassan
good luck for your guys' interview!!! Bring home the visa!

hi Debbie--there is an age difference but why would that be a red flag? i am 9 years older than him and really it don't bother either of us. We both have a divorce under our belts and we've been together over a year now. I sure hope that don't stop anything. i don't know what i'd do if he doesn't get the approval besides sell my house and car and go over there to live. This man means the world to me.

Hi Terrie--I have to tell you, after I posted to you, Hamid told me his interview is also set for Sept. 6!!! So our guys will be there together.

If you have been reading posts on this site, you have to know that Casa is one of the hardest places to get a visa for your guy. I am hoping that we both get lucky. But I think it is reasonable as one person says, expect the worst, hope for the best. I asked about your red flags, cuz they are surely gonna be checking you out. On here, large age differences, short term relationships (like less than a couple of years to them) and divorces/children can be red flags. Just giving you fair warning for him to be ready to address any and all of these things.

I can't believe we only have 3 weeks before that date. I was expecting maybe 4-5 weeks. I will be going there on Sept. 21. How many times have you visited your guy?

Hope all goes well for us and for anybody else that is getting ready for those interviews!!! yes.gif Keep us posted.

We are all wishing you good luck for your interview. No one is trying to bring you down or burst your bubble.

It's just that so many of us have been through alot in dealing with Casa and we're just trying to help you be realistic. Inshallah it will only be 30 days for you. It seems to be luck of the draw with Casa.

Best of luck and keep us posted!
