I am going to be working on my I 601 and need to know if the letters that are included need to be notorized. I will be submitting a letter signed by my ex husband stating that he will not let our children live in Syria. Can he simply sign the letter? Any help would be great. Thanks,

Tracy

In the case of a letter from your ex, it would not hurt to get it notarized since notarizing confirms that the signature is his. Other letters of support (if you include them) don't need be notarized but again, it won't hurt. Your actual HSL letter does not need to be notarized but include this sentence at the top:

I, XXX, declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States that the forgoing is true and correct.
