Hello all,

Does anyone know if the DS 3032 (Choice of Agent form) and the AOS Fee bill are sent out from the same place at the same time?

The NVC recording says both forms were "sent out" on July 30th. We have since received the COA, but not the AOS fee bill. If they were supposed to arrive together, we are concerned that the AOS bill may have gotten lost along the way.

Thanks very much for your help.

Why haven't you already mailed your choice of agent back to the NVC? The Choice of Agent and AoS are two separate "tracks", and can be mailed separately. In other words, don't wait to send in your choice of agent if your spouse has already signed it!

Check out the NVC flowchart, in the Guides section of VJ to see the process.

Have you looked at James's Shortcuts? Here is the link:

Because the NVC can receive the Choice of Agent and AoS fee bill on the day that they were generated (but not before then), you can use James's shortcuts to "make" your own AoS fee bill and send it in to the St. Louis PO Box.

Hi LadyJane,

Thanks for your response, but that wasn't my question. We have already emailed our Choice of Agent, and we prefer not to use the shortcuts for the AOS fee bill.

I am aware that there are two tracks. My question is whether the two forms should have been generated/sent out at the same time, and hence should have arrived together, in which case the fact that we received one without the other is cause for worry.

Hi Megan,

The flow chart LadyJane suggested you look at is important though, as it shows the two items you are talking about are on separate tracks. It makes no difference whether they were generated/sent out at the same time.

Even though you are not using James's shortcuts, it would probably be helpful for you to read them as he breaks down the NVC process step by step.

Cheers

Just because the NVC says a form was generated on a certain day, it doesn't mean that it was mailed out that same day. So even if you already received the DS-3032, it might take longer to get the AOS bill depending on when they actually mailed it.

Also, they are both 2 separate things so you will not get them together at the same time and in the same envelope.

Hi Megan,

If it makes you feel any better, the NVC's automated system says that our DS 3032 and AOS bill were also sent on July 30th (same day as yours), but we haven't received either of them yet..

I am also begining to worry that they have been lost in the post..

I have emailed the nvc enquiry address and have not had any response as yet..

Out of interest, what state are you/your spouse living in and when did you receive the COA form?

Thanks :-)

In our case too, AOS fee came in the mail later than the choice of agent. They are two things sent out not necessarily at the same time.

Hi ataylor,

Thanks for your post...it's somewhat reassuring, though stressful, to see that everyone seems to be receiving paperwork rather slowly.

My spouse and I (the USC) are actually both living in France at the moment. I am aware that having paperwork sent here (rather than to a us address) may take longer, but the French postal system is pretty reliable and prefer to handle the paperwork myself rather than ask a relative in the US to do so.

We received the COA form on August 9th. As we had sent an email on the 3rd, and hence expect a response in the next week or so, we are not sending back the hard copy, mostly to avoid the hefty overnight postage fees.

I hope our AOS bills come soon, the idea that this stage of the process will take longer than the expected 2-3 months is far too stressful!

Best of luck!
Megan

Well, at least you guys are together! It will take a little longer, but as long as you have everything ready before they ask you the docs and you use express mail you can still save some time. In my experience mail sent from the US take about 6 to 7 days to come, in my case to Italy.
