No one except the bomber was injured, thank God. My husband's brother-in-law saw him on the ground afterward. Meknes is my husband's home and I have spent a lot of time in the medina. I'm at a loss. Please be safe, all.

I;ve been there too. The first thought that crossed my mind is that the King's palace is right there on the square.

ETA: if it was the central market part of the medina that I am thinking about.

Yes, I didn't think about that. He wasn't there, though. Apparently the bus driver sensed something and prevented the guy from getting on, but that may be rumor. I'm glad other lives and that beautiful architecture were spared.

I had read of this story earlier on the MAP website. It is basically what you said -- the bus driver is being touted as being something of a hero.
