What do you guys think of a mena men (since most of the spouses coming from mena are men) subsection where they can all talk amoungst themselves?

unsure.gif

Obviously a few want to be vocal here and maybe they'll understand each other better if they're all in one room?

Can we call it "MENA Husbands Gone Wild Forum"? Sorry I had to steal Jodo's line...I'm still cracking up over it.

I just remember back in my christianforum days they had a section for the women but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up top there was a "special" section for the men. Sure there were spies but it was a good time had by all. lol

I need a visual for the mena men gone wild. Where's WOM???
sarah and hicham
A men's subforum would never work, especially since I would probably get pretty angry and just end up posting in it.

If it was all 100% fun stuff I'd probably use this ('cause of course it's not just ME/NA men who are "wild and crazy guys !"):

But I want to make it clear that some of what we've seen is no joking matter sad.gif

Anyway if someone wants to start an online group for men only, that's fine.... but I don't think VJ is a place for that.

Well that's certainly true. I tend to joke to cope with situations that I can't deal with. Anyways I just thought maybe it would bring more MENA men in here since, although the past couple have put their foot in their mouth once or twice it has certainly been something else to hear their views. rose.gif

I know this was started in jest and not as a serious topic, but really it would be useful if more of the men from MENA posted because they are the ones actually from there. Whether some of them post crazy things, I'm sure many wouldn't. And if a lot of them did post crazy sounding things then maybe that would be a good sign to look for.

And it'd be nice to know the cultural perspective from the men who are actually from the countries and not just from their SO's in the US who have only visited. I'm not saying that as a diss, just out of hearing from them directly.

In the South Asia forum we don't discuss many issues but I like seeing that there are as many or more men writing about visa stuff there as women. It brings a nice balance. I know if someone is not used to a message board they might not know the board etiquette which could lead to many misunderstandings. But still it'd be nice if there was a balance in the number of men and women posting here in the same forum. Whether they don't post because they aren't interested, have limited internet access, or don't even know it exists, I guess there are all different reasons. I know my hubby doesn't feel like posting on here anymore, he is not interested in debates etc, but he did post during our visa process and I appreciated him reading info about the visa here and thanking people for all the help we got back then.

I know I joked about being glad my husband doesn't post here but I kind of wish he did at times just to see what he thinks about the various topics we have going on here. Sometimes I mention them to him but more often than not we're in a rush to get out what we need to say via the webcam and phonecalls just plain suck so we just basically say i love you and that's that. He is hardly ever online anymore since he's working all the time so the only time he gets on the computer is when he talks to me and that involves going to an internet cafe.
moody
There are topics that my husband would be interested in getting involved in but I've asked him not to participate because he's worse than me with getting over the top on some issues. For example, Gladiator's posts yesterday. There were a few choice things he would have liked to said to him. diablo.gif

See but to me that would have been a good back and forth between two men from Egypt. Instead we had all women from the US v. one man from Egypt. Not to say that what was said was right or wrong since I'm not getting near that one but more men getting involved in that discussion would have been good I thought.

My husband has posted a few times whistling.gif

But typing -- and especially in English -- is a very painstaking process for him. He'd rather have me do it -- heh heh I have the fastest fingers in the West tongue.gif
moody
Another reason he doesn't post. He can type fairly quickly but doesn't correct typos and his spelling leaves a lot to be desired. It's just easier for him to post through me.
