Grreaat.... the last ones on some Loser List!!! That makes me feel good. I can't tell online when the application was 'last touched' it just says it was received and pending.

Question: if my application was sent somewhere else, I would have gotten a letter or the case status tool would be updated i am guessing?

Also: The applications that got sent to another service center, are those getting approved?

I better pack a lunch....

Just to make you feel better, or worse, I'm taking a page from the NSC Losers' list and adding Silvanski, the first known transfer from TSC to CSC. He got an RFE and was STILL approved in just a little over three months!

The USCIS case status inquiry will tell you your case's "last date updated" date (i.e., last touch).

Unless you case was transfered back to your local office. Then there is no way of knowing the status by looking online.

USCIS Contradicts itself again....

I called TSC back on 11/13/07 to inquire about our case (received by USCIS 04/05/07, NOA Date of 04/20/07. The CSR agreed it was outside of their processing times and initiated a service request. I changed our address at that time, as well.

The reply from TSC stated: "The status of the service request is: Our records indicate that you filed I-751 to Remove Conditions. As of this date, your I-751 is still pending. A card will not be produced until this action is completed."

I just got another letter from TSC today. It says "Our review indicates that this case is actually within or current processing time. Your I-751 case is ready for review selection. We regret any misunderstanding. If you do not receive a decision or notice of other action within our current processing time, check our website for an update or call customer service at the number provided below."

I am also waiting for a response from our senator.

One question. On the second letter I got from USCIS they mispelled my husband's name (he is the applicant, I am the USC). But on the first letter they spelled it right. Should I worry??? At least I know they updated our address.... unsure.gif

Generally, if his name is spelled correctly on the NOA1, I wouldn't worry about it. But because you updated your address, it's conceivable they might have introduced an error in the spelling of his name when they did so. You would probably want to have that corrected in case they issue the card with the misspelling so you don't have to go through the hassle (a no-fee hassle because it was their fault, but nevertheless a hassle) of getting a replacement card.

I've come to realize from witnessing others go through them that service requests are not worth the time or energy. Nothing ever comes out of them other than readings from a script written by Captain Obvious.

I just wanted to touch in with all of you in this forum.

It's January 16, and there have been NO approvals out of the Texas Service Center since December.

So, basically half the month has gone by, and none of us have been approved....

Just wanted to clarify...

Not surprised. The official *cough*lyingthroughtheirteeth*cough* processing time released in December moved ahead only one day from the one released in November. They seem to be permanently stuck adjudicating random petitions from the first half of February 2007, which I'm sure must drive you in particular nuts, being so close and all.

I am beginning to wonder if I should go ahead and contact my senator now because maybe he can inquire abt all this waiting and how come ppl who file with TSC and get transferred to CSC in October get approved before the ones who filed in January-June at TSC. My husband and I are due to file for Naturalization in April and still no 10 yr green card to copy to include in paperwork.

By the way what if he dont get my husband's 10-yr green card by April can we file without it and what can we use in its place.

The problem with you or I contacting a senator or doing a service inquiry is that we're still within the posted processing time, which shows that TSC is (at least as of Dec. 14) working on I-751s with an NOA1 of April 8, 2007. Therefore, the answer you're bound to get is that you are still within the processing time.

I'm assuming you filed your I-751 close to 90 days before the expiration of the conditional green card, which would mean that your NOA1 extension letter should still be good until July. If you still haven't gotten a permanent card by the end of June, your husband should make an InfoPass appointment and get an I-551 stamp in his passport.

Hi. I'm reading through this thread, because we are still awaiting my husband's conditions to be lifted. The NOA is sometime last February. He called for a status update as listed above, and they eventually sent a letter that basically said, "It's not completed yet." What a joke. No explanation, no apology. They didn't even look at it.

So... what happens when the 1-year extension (granted by the NOA) expires? It will soon.

But there's no doubt that even if your I-751 has not been adjudicated, you can go right ahead and apply for citizenship 90 days before your third anniversary (i.e., a year after you were allowed to petition to have the conditions removed).

I thought the 3-year mark applied to the green card, not to the wedding anniversary. For instance, we wed in December '04 and he got the green card in May '05. I thought we had to wait until Feb '08 to apply for citizenship.

I was referring to the anniversary of receiving your green card, not the anniversary of your marriage. That's what I meant to when I said "a year after you were allowed to petition to have the conditions removed" -- you are allowed to petition to remove conditions 90 days before the second anniversary of having received your green card.

You're five hours from J-ville? Gotta be in Pensacola or thereabouts. (I'm getting deja vu -- didn't we have this conversation before?)

Anyway, hopefully he will get his card before you have to consider the road trip. He probably will -- NOA1s from February 2007 are next up to be approved in TSC. I can't imagine they won't clear that month of NOA1s by the time May rolls around. Then again, we are talking TSC here . . . .

James,

I was asking about what document can we submit in the place of a copy of the front and back of my husband's 10 yr green card for when we file for Naturalization in April. My husband's NOA doesn't expire until July 17 '08.
Dr. ZoSo
I don't know why but I called in to the helpless USCIS line on Friday 1/18 and put in another service request. It was amazing the hear the operator read from the scripts as we went through our conversations. Every time I asked her a question she delayed as if looking for the right script to read back to me.

I tried to explain to her that my wife's application had been turned over to the Atlanta District office but I believe my words fell on deaf ears. When calling into the automated system i gave them the old Texas receipt number for my wife's application as that was the only one that would allow me to proceed through the options. So when the operator inputted the case number into her computer I really cant say where the service request will finally end up.

Most likely it will bounce from Texas to Atlanta.

The instructions just ask for a "photocopy of both sides of your Permanent Resident Card," so I believe you would just have to send in a copy of the two-year green card if you don't have the ten-year card yet.

Although that raises a couple of other questions, such as whether you would have to send in a copy of the ten-year card when you get it, as well as what do you do if you've gotten an I-551 stamp in the passport and were required to surrender the two-year card. Probably best left for a discussion in the Naturalization forum.

Naturalization isn't pressing for us anymore because of the huge backlog -- there's no way my wife will get a chance to vote this fall. So we'll probably wait until the backlog clears a bit.

Actually, TSC recently started transfering to VSC instead. I don't know why because VSC has been taking 6 months or so, while CSC was knocking them out in 2-3 months from NOA1.

They may have to shut down CSC for being too efficient.

Not one TSC Loser® has been approved in the past month? I guess TSC returned our files back to the janitorial closet in the basement men's room.

Hello Fellow and PATIENT I-751-ers....

wink.gif

Our Senator's office called us yesterday to update us on our case. Apparently the TSC is "overwhelmed" with case processing, and, as a lot of their senior staff were off on holidays (for half of January, it seems) things are "slow to get off the ground."

Perhaps we will hear some information in February. For us, after all, it will only be ONE YEAR since we first applied to remove conditions.

A senator submitted an inquiry to TSC on our behalf to find out the status of our case in early January. Couple of weeks later the response came. "We are currently processing petitions filed on 2/15/07." The funny thing is, when the same inquiry was submitted to TSC in October (three months ago), the response from TSC was "We are currently processing petitions filed on 2/23/07."

Why am I not surprised? I believe one's senator must personally know someone/have leverage over a higher-up in TSC to actually have any effect. Otherwise, TSC just makes up some date to give to the inquiring senator's office.

I just saw the new processing times for TSC and it says that they are currently processing NOA 1's with receipt dates of April 19th. Oh, how I wish that were true. unsure.gif especially since my husband's NOA 1 receipt date is April 25th. James, let me know if you hear anything like an approval ....yeah, yeah maybe a long shot but you never know.

I wouldn't be worrying about James (no offense James biggrin.gif ), I'd be rooting for the people at the top of the list....then I'd be convinced that TSC was actually working on petitions from April.

No offense taken (except towards TSC) b/c of course I haven't heard anything. I'm still technically within the processing time -- by one day! Not that a service request would do any good, of course . . . I don't even think we'll be approved by the time a full year since the NOA1 has rolled by.

We got an RFE dated January 23, 2008

Please update our information. And it's a major RFE. I will post another thread.

Thanks

I called the customer service centre, since my NOA was on March 3rd, 2007 and their processing dates are at April 19th. My online status hadn't been updated since April 11th (the day after I got my biometrics done).

The nice lady on the other end of the phone told me that I'd been approved and that my green card should be on its way to me! dancin5hr.gif

I can't tell you how pleased I am, especially considering how turbulent the past few months have been with my marriage collapsing around my ears. Looks like I'll be here for a while yet!

sad.gif Sorry to hear that, but at least someone finally looked at your case...
Did your online status change at all for the RFE, and does the RFE have the same case number as your NOA1?

Hope you get all the docs together and are approved soon. Good luck!

don't forget to update us, should the card come in. And Congrats! kicking.gif

Hi Tweety,

No, actually our online status does not show anything about an RFE. We only discovered this due to a letter from USCIS.

Strange..

I wouldn't worry -- just inundate them with what they ask for and if you don't have what they are asking for, attach a letter explaining why not.

Look on the bright side, as Cassie suggested -- your case is no longer sitting collecting dust. It will be approved in the near future.

Wow, this got lost amidst lovedolphins' RFE. Congratulations! They've actually moved into March now, at least for some petitions. I'm stunned.

Did the nice lady tell you the date you were approved? I'll put yesterday down in the list to be on the safe side.

Congratulations to all those receiving their 10-year green cards!

I have decided to post after viewing the postings and being utterly frustrated...

I am a US citizen, my wife is a "conditonal" green card holder...from Canada...you think we would go easy on our friendly northern neighbor, a chief supplier of electricity...

First of all here is a timeline (Please add us to the timeline)

Filed Application with TSC (Texas Service Center) on 03/14/07.
03/23/07 - First NOA date
04/20/07 - Biometrics
01/18/08 - Enquired via the Helpline about application through a live operator (a live person is hard to find)
request placed, no word yet.

Checking the website about our specific case, it still shows March 23, 2007 (the first NOA date)

The timeline for the TSC shows that they are now processing applications as of April 19, 2008. This memo states Jan. 15, 2008, but it was really posted on Jan. 26, 2008. Trust me, I check the website everyday.... The previous one posted in mid-December 2007 states that they were processing application as of April 8, 2007. You mean to say, that in 30 days, they only went through 10 days worth of applications? Okay, I'll excuse my fellow Americans at the TSC for taking the "holidays" off....

What baffles me is that how can the TSC simply forward applications to the CSC and VSC ahead of those already in line?
For example, those that aplied in July via the TSC had their approved in October via the CSC.

It simply is not fair.

I'm gald that someone who applied in early March 2007has been approved, but there are others in January 2007 that are still waiting.

Which Texas Senator do you write to? (We live in Texas)
Maybe I'll vote in the Republican Texas primray so that the Senator's office knows I'm a registered Republican so that they will handle my enquiry quickly. I daresay voting Democrat in a Texas primray will get you anywhere.. Texas is a Republican state....

Welcome to VJ, fellow TSC Loser®! We have long been at a loss to explain what goes on at TSC. As best as we can figure out, they got swamped just before the fee increase went into effect last year and have never been able to get their head above water.

It's odd that your last touched date is the date of your NOA1. Is that really the date in the "Last Update" column on the website? Usually it's a day or so after the biometrics.

Re: contacting your senator from Texas -- you might just have some luck. JLR contacted Senator Cornyn's office and got a relatively early approval for someone who had filed in February 2007. We speculated that Cornyn might have some pull. Certainly worth a shot.

Hello James

The website where you punch the 13-digit code gives the March 23, 2007 as the last status update. It reads something like,
"On March 23, we received this CRI89...etc"

That date is before my wife went for her biometrics.

In other words, they did not update the website with any status after her biometric date.

Should we be worried? Or is it just that they got so far behind, they stopped updating the webiste and only put critical pieces of info like "Approved" etc.

Thanks for the Senator Update. I'll draft a letter and fire it off if I don't hear anything in 4 weeks. Cornyn is not up for reelction, so at least he won't be distracted campaigning...

I'll keep checking this website. Hopefully the Jan/Feb/March 2007 filings will start getting approved.

I am still fuming at how the TSC just forwarded applications filed much later than us to the CSC and those have long been processed/approved.

Nah, I was too jazzed to even ask. She just said she would put in a manual request for them to send me my approval notification and 10 year green card. I'll post an update when I receive actual evidence I can brandish as proof that I don't have to worry about being deported. whistling.gif

How did you manage to speak to someone on the 800 customer service number? the automated message is the same as the online status update, correct? Did you involve any congressman or senator before the approval? Has your online status changed at all?

I'm pretty sure your file was touched after the biometrics. The regular Case Status Search, where you simply plug in the case number, won't tell you when your file was last touched. You need to create an account, which will send you automatic email updates and allow you to see when the last time your file was touched. It will also of course send you an email when your file has been approved. You can register here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/registercustomer.jsp.

kalstravels
Hello James

Thanks for making us aware that creating an account gives you a little more info. So we created one and at least it shows the last touch date as 04/23/07 (after biometrics). Please Update for "kalstravels"(Whew! At least they didn't loose the biometrics...I was beginning to worry....)

Its nice to see that things are beginning to move along for those that filed in Jan-March 2007.

We'll sit patiently and start rumbling again if we don't here anything for 4 weeks (20 business days)

I wonder if USCIS is closed President's Day or Lincoln's Brithday. Those are the two holidays I see in my calender for the next 4 weeks. And we can blow off Valentine's Day. So 20 business days can easily become 23 business days. Add a couple of "I'll take the afternoon off" and you're looking at 25 business days....maybe I should wait 5 weeks..ha ha

Perhaps we should rename the webiste "visasaga.com" or "visaordeal.com"

Thanks for the advice again.

i see atleast one familiar face here - james - how's it going? hi to everyone else, been ages since i've been on here. sick and tired of waiting for a freakin renewal.

applied in august of 2004, had my wife with greencard on us soil march of 2005. 7 months.

now, it's approaching 11 months since we applied for a stinkin renewal and still nothing!!

..i know, i know - i'm preaching to the choir - we're all in the same boat here.

and ofcourse us1415 - how's it going - tried to call you a few weeks back - not getting through to you meant i had to come onto vj for myself and get to the bottom of this.

sad when you end up having more faith in a public forum then the uscis site. the april processing date on their website is laughable....looks like nothing has changed in the three years since we were last going through this crap.

anyone know if we can apply for citizenship now?
