We mailed our application on Sept. 1, and two weeks later they still haven't even cashed our check...

Consider yourself lucky. The check-cashing delay is caused by TSC sending your I-751 to CSC, which will probably approve your petition long before TSC approves the petitions of those of us who had the misfortune to file in TSC in the first six months of this year, before TSC started transferring petitions to CSC.

So, are they still forwarding applications to CSC? I didn't know that, as I haven't seen anybody who filed in Sept. getting transferred yet, I thought that was just a "July-August" thing...in that case, I shall stop complaining and just sit and wait it out...and get the heck outta here!

I'm pretty sure they still are, although it would be too early to know since it's been taking a few weeks for the things to get sent off to CSC and for CSC to cash the check and issue the NOA1.
Believe me, you really don't want to be in line behind us at TSC. We're Losers. We don't bathe or use deodorant, plus we smoke Tiparillos and drink bum wine.

No, I'm not worried. What's there to be worried about? I'm together with my wife, who can travel and work with her NOA1 (and get a stamp if this takes longer than a year). We will still be applying for citizenship in April. In short, we're unworried Losers and proud of it.

No need to if you have a state ID and unrestricted SSC. Both are available to CPRs. Go get them.
That said, I am quite frustrated with this fcuking Texas Service Center - they're always behind. Always. They just gotta put those bums out of work and relocate the TSC to a state where they have federal employees that actually do some work from time to time. Lazy butts over there in the Lone Star State.

I can't complain too much about TSC, they managed to speed up nicely when my I-129f got there.

However, it would be nice to see some life in the I-751 department.

hey tweety, cassie and the rest of my friends
If anybody can say the the TSC is broken, it would be me. Remember my story back in mid FEB, how they told me they were not even printing NOA's anymore?
Well they received my case on 14 FEB 07 and My wife has still yet to receive the NOA with the 1 year extention statment on it, nor have she had biometrics done.
I have called the National number many times, pretty much every 40 days or so...LOL. They show my wife in the system as filed and continue to give me here case number over the phone, (alot of good that does) LOL. And now that the date has passed for normal processng times, they put in the request to mail the NOA and to have her called for biometrics.. that request was made 10 days ago, and still nothing yet. so we will see..
So case received and checks cashed Feb 14, received the receipt for biometrics paid, with a lable stuck to the paper with receipt number. (of course doesnt work on website)
and thats it.
so 7 month into process, and nothing but a biometrics paid receipt....
So yes I can attest that TSC, is broken as hell.......
Good luck to everyone who filed in the first 6 months of 2007 at TSC....
I share your pain....

Hello everyone! New here....
I just wanted to add myself to this TSC mess.
I am in the same boat as everyone else. Filed the 751 on February 9th, Biometrics on March 15th, 1 year extension received (cant remember when) then zilch!
I did however call the national 800 number and was told something different from everyone else. The operator told me that I should send a letter to the TSC asking for an updated status on our file since we were outside of the 6 month time frame.
After reading this post and the many others, I think I will just wait it out.
We have everything in order except one thing. My wife's drivers license expired on her birthday at the end of June. Well, without an acceptance letter from the USCIS the DMV would not allow her to renew her license. We really have no choice but to let her keep driving eve on an an expired license.
That's my side in a nut shell. I will try to update my profile at a later time.

What you could do is go make an infopass appointment at your local office and ask for the I551 stamp for her passport (tell them about the DL!). With that, she should be able to renew her license. I know the NOA1 isn't listed as evidence for DL's in some states (I lucked out as the driving instructor marked it as one on his sheet, after calling around.)
Good luck.

Hi Mark,
that is a real mess! I would look into making an infopass appointment with the local office and get the I551 stamp - as well inquire about your case. Apart from that the government reps might be helpful in this situation as well. I also believe the ppl at USCIS should have been able to order a duplicate NOA1 for you - (read up in this thread:

Good luck!

I think we need to contact our Senators, what does everyone think?
Our Senator, back when we first filed, was John Edwards. And boy, did his office get things moving! There must have been a tsunami at the TSC as suddenly, work was actually getting completed.
Now nothing is happening, and no one knows anything.
Time for intervention?

I dunno, I figure this would not be that high a priority since no one is being kept apart or is in danger of being deported. We're just stuck in a bureaucratic bungle that creates inconveniences for things like getting DLs and jobs.
Hindsight being 20-20, if I knew then what I know now, I would not have filed the week after our 90-day window opened. Instead, I would have waited until ten days before the GC expired so we would have been transferred to CSC. There would only have been a week or two after expiration without a valid GC, but we would have probably gotten the permanent card by now.

Whoa, that just caused a huge deja-vu from my K1 days...
The new processing times are up. As expected, the timeframe for I-751's is unchanged (6 months). One thing I've always wondered: why are some lines green and some yellow? Are the green ones the ones they're focusing on this month? Anybody know?

I hope that's not the case, because the I-751 line was green last month, now it's back to yellow...

I see a green background there today... Anyway - you know what I don't get is why TSC is not able or willing to provide actual processing times. I mean why do they put it at 6 months, when they know that this isn't the case. NSC and VSC at least seem to put it close to where the processing actually is. Yet TSC and CSC report BS processing times.... They could as well just not report anything.

I honestly think the colours mean nothing -- they alternate to visually differentiate between the different forms being processed at the service centre.
I'm not liking this new nebulous way of keeping track of current processing dates. They might as well stop updating the whole thing for TSC.

Hey Jay, I had seen you were one of us on the timelines and had been wondering if you would show up here to report in.
Looks like we're all here, almost a dozen. The TSC filers who had the great misfortune to file after TSC slowed down to a stop but before I-751s sent to TSC were transferred to CSC. We are the Losers Left Behind.
I've made our own list in our own honor (please add last-touched dates).
Drinks are on me.

I am getting pretty fed up with all of the CSC approvals from the TSC transferee's. Although I am overjoyed for those people who have been approved with little to no hassle from the USCIS, my distaste for the TSC is at a boiling point.
I had a conversation with my wife a few days ago about why it costs so much to even apply for the 10yr green card. While discussing the ins and outs of the system to the best of my knowledge with her I came to realize a few things on my own that I never thought of before.
The USCIS is running a monopoly. They are offering a service which only they can approve. Wouldn't it be neat if Wal-Mart or Target of one of the other major companies/grocers out there could renew a Green Card of visually verify a document and the evidence with a specific counter within the store? They did something like this a few years ago with the DMV. Although you couldn't get a new drivers license at these small satellite centers, you could change your address, renew, and fix many other problems. It's not like you can go to a competitor and get a Green Card. Perhaps if you could it would be Yellow or Red...or even Blue?
The USCIS is overcharging for their services. Come on....how many things have you paid $500 for and perhaps more and not received the service within at the MOST 60 days? I do understand there are a lot of channels to run an application through with the Dept of Homeland Security and all, but the federal government owns and controls those departments. They wouldn't charge themselves for the services they provide between departments would they?
I know I am going to get flamed for this post in more ways than one, but I am just expressing myself verbally instead of physically (although I am hitting the keys quite hard!).

Good morning ladies and gents! Am I correct that no-one has any news?!
Anyway, I've been wondering about naturalization the other day. When applying for naturalization, would a still pending I751 delay the naturalization process? Common sense tells me it would, as they have to first approve the I751 before naturalization can be granted.
Anyone got any insights on this?

The only news I have been able to glean from the web is that it's 77 and sunny in Dallas and there were no major traffic incidents there this morning, but despite the beautiful day and smooth commute afforded to the TSC workers, our petitions nevertheless remain underneath 10 cases of black cherry Dr. Pepper in the TSC cafeteria storeroom.
Re: naturalization -- as long as one has the requisite three years of permanent residency and is still married, one can go ahead and file for naturalization regardless of whether the I-751 has been approved. The officer that conducts the naturalization interview will then adjudicate the I-751 prior to the interview (assuming it still remains unadjudicated). That is how it is supposed to work in theory according to USCIS, but in practice I have no idea . . . .

Starting to get relaly nervous. I would like to go to Germany for christmas but after my recent airport problem I would like to have my 10 year card issued before that wonderful day... it is frustrating to see people get approved via california when i submitted my application in may!

Sent I-751 to Texas May 11th
Check: May 19th
Fingerprints: June 14th

Well, I say "theory" but it is USCIS policy -- they put out a policy memo a couple of years ago stating that this was the procedure. I think I've read reports where it has played out like the policy envisions -- your I-751 gets adjudicated before the interview (or even at the interview) and that's that. But there's no doubt that even if your I-751 has not been adjudicated, you can go right ahead and apply for citizenship 90 days before your third anniversary (i.e., a year after you were allowed to petition to have the conditions removed).

Welcome baunzerbrudi!
I guess we are all more or less frustrated. It's not the long wait that is so terrible, it's more the fact that processing seems to have
completely stopped at TSC... Let's hope someone has something positive to report soon.

I've been pretty lucky so far with K1, AOS ... but now I finally get to experience the inefficiency of USCIS
You can add me to the list of TCS list of losers...
filed: some time in February
NOA1: Feb 21 2007
Biometrics: some time in march
Last updated (=touched?): March 19 2007
Since I am past the 6 month + 30 days, I'll try calling some time this week (not like I expect them to do much else than read the case status which I can access online

).
My conditional GC expires in April 08 with the 1 year extension, so I am not too worried yet. What difference does another piece of paper make when I already have to travel with a whole filing cabinet ...

Always glad to meet another loser, A_C! Come right in, make yourself at home, and feel free to twitch uncontrollably and mutter obscenities under your breath. We're all family here.
BTW, I'm taking the liberty of plugging in actual guesstimate dates for your filing and the bios.
