I was just thinking -- isn't ven2lin the new king since he has an earlier NOA1 than vumbi? (The "Date of I-751" is kind of meaningless b/c it's just the date the I-751 was sent -- whether by overnight or snail mail or pony express.)

Hi all,

today I have received a reply on my service request.

It says:
"The status of this service request is:
Your petition was received at the Texas Service Center and is currently pending Service consideration. If additional information is needed, you will be contacted by mail upon review of your case."

With other words... they tell you what you know anyway. There's no comment on why my case it out of USCIS-published processing times.
Until today no-one has touched my case.

What's even better: my envelope contained another reply to a service request regarding address change for another person. ... they can't even mail properly at TSC....

Incidently all the service requests I raised through TSC I did recieve a response even if it was months later and already telling me what I already knew.
Also I contacted my senator again for an update and she siad "oohh you are so far down my list, I don't have an answer for you" .... I got the senator involved probably 4 weeks ago ..

I'm also going to try and get my biometrics done in Houston tomorrow as I havent recieved a bio appointment letter... going to try my luck and walk in unannounced.

I finally broke down and made info pass appointment for tuesday... And I am coming with the Thunder....LOL

NO we still havent received a NOA yet. I have called numerous times, and they sent me this bs paper, basically recaping the call.

Usually something along the lines of ON this date you or your representative called and asked us to check status on your case ...blah blah blah

during this call the following info was provided...blah blah blah. your case is being actively processed if you havent heard from us in 60 days please call the national help line...blah blah blah

so everytime I call... I get one of these. And I have asked for the NOA to be resent 4 times and I have gotten one yet.

So im ready to go postal....LOL

Yesterday we received a letter from Senator Cornyn with a e-mail attached from TSC. The e-mail was dated on November 3, 2007 which was a Saturday.Maybe they are putting in some over time. I read it several times and it appears a first grader drafted the reponse.The e-mail is as follows:

The application was received on 2/8/07 and the child is listed on the application. I have asked for it to be pulled as it is processing time. Thankyou for your inquiry and please do not hesitate to contact us again if you have any further regarding this case.

Hopefully with all the congressional inquires TSC will get off their duffs and process the rest of the over due cases.

Looking at the timeline of events, it looks as if the senator inquiry triggered your approval.

When you ask them to help with your case you will have to send them a signed privacy release form (available on their respective websites, see links above), because they can otherwise not contact USCIS in your name.

I'm considering contacting one of them as well.

I agree. It's not as if they're just going to suddenly approve it in a week or two (assuming they have started working again, which it seems they have) -- your file won't have the biometrics. At the very least, I would read some of these threads dealing with doing walk-in biometrics without an appointment and see if you can at least get that on track.

I went to the ASC unnanounced ..the first place told me to go to the other ASC closer to my home and printed me the biometrics appointment i should of recieved way back in March.. so it did get scheduled but must of gotten lost in the post..
The other Application Support Centre close to my house accepted me... I was probably in there for two hours..

One guess as to which one is the TSC...

Here it is the 16th and USCIS still hasn't updated the processing times/dates page yet. I wonder if they're reevaluating their time lines to show "actual" processing times instead of where they should be by now.

I just realized that I am getting cranky reading certain kinds of posts in this forum. This is not good. *sigh* So I'm gonna stay out of them for now and just hang out with you guys, it's safer.

The new processin times on the uscis website says the are processing April 7th ... WTF?

And a month ago they said they were processing April 3. The processing times are meaningless! Now that I think about it, they always have been pretty much meaningless throughout this whole journey. Anyway, we know that they are really processing and touching at least some people with NOA1s from the beginning of February . . . .

Ain't that the damn truth. I swear, once month they have someone throw a dart at a calendar and whatever date that dart hits is what they put on the site as the current processing date. That whole online crap is so fcuking worthless. They should have saved the effort and kept the fees low instead. No use in these cavepeople trying to get into the modern world.

I've had surgery that healed faster than this!

I had my biometrics done last week .. and touched last Thursday 15th .. Nothing since then ..

Just goes to show even after 3 service requests, numerous infopass appointments and a senetor involved you just got to go with the flow.... No matter how much you get frustrated .. and that is alot!

clerk called Texas to check on file, since mine is past date, and nothing was done (not even NOA) only receipt for paying fees.

Hi all,
I'm in the same boat, unfortunately. I sent my I-751 on Feb 5, 2007, NOA date is Feb 7, 2007, biometric done on March 16, 2007 and have not heard anything from TSC since.
I sent my N-400 on Nov 17 though, another wait for me apparently since TSC has not processed N400 faster than I-751 as I am informed

Huh? You must have waited until the last minute and sent your I-751 in just a week or so before the green card expired if you've already sent in your N400. If you had sent your I-751 in just 2-3 weeks earlier, it would have been approved back in June . . . .

WASHINGTON - Immigrants who applied for citizenship after June 1 will have to wait more than a year to become Americans, immigration officials said Wednesday, a delay that will prevent many from voting in next November's elections.

The delay is due to a deluge of applications that Citizenship and Immigration Services, a Homeland Security Department agency, received this summer as immigrants rushed to beat drastic fee increases for naturalization, legal residency, work permits, international adoptions and a host of other immigration benefits.

That means naturalization applications filed after June 1 will take 15 months to 18 months to process and become final, said Bill Wright, spokesman for the immigration agency.

"We certainly are hoping to beat that, but there certainly is that possibility," Wright said. Generally, becoming a citizen takes on average about seven months after an application has been filed, Wright said.

A total of 2.5 million applications were filed with the agency during July and August, Wright said. He could not provide numbers for June.

For the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, a total of 7.7 million applications were filed, compared with 6.3 million the previous fiscal year, Wright said.

The spike in applications came in the months before Citizenship and Immigration Services raised all application fees, effective July 30. Costs for applying for citizenship rose from $330 to $595 and from $325 to $930 for legal residency. In both cases, applicants also must pay fingerprinting fees, which increased from $70 to $80.

The year and a half to nearly two year waits for naturalizations could hurt efforts of a coalition of groups trying to increase citizenship and voter registration among immigrants.

The delays have raised some concerns about possible political motivations, which Wright denied.

"I would hope there's not a political motivation because citizenship is too valuable for partisan mischief," said Arturo Vargas, executive director of the National Association for Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, one of the groups leading the registration campaign. He said Congress should provide money to the agency to get the naturalizations done sooner.

In 2006, the largest number of immigrants who naturalized were from Mexico. Hispanics in the U.S. tend to vote Democratic, although some experts suggest many recent immigrants are less likely to have aligned themselves yet to either major party.

Strong opposition from Republicans to immigration overhaul bills this year and in 2006 angered many Hispanics. Last year, the immigration debates triggered massive protests in cities throughout the country, where marchers chanted, "Today we march. Tomorrow we vote."

Wright maintained the agency would not sacrifice security to speed up processing applications.

The Clinton administration faced criticism for rushing to naturalize 1.2 million people in an 1996 attempt to cut massive backlogs. The Justice Department concluded thousands of those people did not receive adequate background checks, but determined the naturalization rush was not politically motivated.

A total 1.4 million people applied for naturalization in the 2007 fiscal year, about double the number from the previous fiscal year. Another 876,000 applied to become legal residents in fiscal year 2007, up from about 500,000.

The most naturalization applications, 562,423, came in July, August and September, up from 192,423 for the same three months in 2006.

Ok so get this...

As you all may know I had my senator involved almost a month ago with no real results other than what we already know.

Well today I get a letter in the mail from the Department of Homeland Security that says my wife's case has been transferred to our local office in Atlanta and that any questions/concerns should be corresponded to that office and not the TSC.

So, anyone got any ideas as to what we are in for now? The only thing we can guess is that we are going to be called in for a second interview and that's why the case has been sent back to our local office.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Other than an interview, the only thing I can think of is the remote possibility that they're farming out I-751s to the local offices because TSC is behind.

Since the petition is now in your local office, why don't you make an InfoPass appointment so you can find out directly what's up?

I had thought about that and I plan on doing such. I wanted to give them a week to see if any other letters showed up prior to my making an appointment.

I've just read a little into the N400s threads in the citizenship forum - guess what, it looks like it takes them anywhere between 15-18 months to do the N400s now.... TSC really sux - they don't seem to do much of anything there. I wish there was an agency overseeing this mess and fire each and everyone of those lazy punks.
