This is my theory: TSC was assigned to work on processing US passports. I think TSC stopped processing applications around the same time there was a passport processing delay. That issue was resolved not by magic, but by assigning new resources to it. i751 is propably the most redundant form out there because i400 comes right after it.

Anyway, there is a good number of people who do not plan to naturalize.
I for one will only naturalize if I can become a dual citizen, as this is rather a vague issue (as I have to apply for it with the German authorities with a good chance of getting denied), I might not even naturalize come next spring....
That is the only way I would become naturalized as well (and Jerry agrees with me on this).
Can someone refresh my memory and tell me (and the rest of us in this thread) when one needs to apply to renew the extension letter if it comes to that point for some of us?

From what I recall having read here, you don't get another extension letter -- you have to make an Infopass appointment and get an I-551 stamp in your passport.

Has anyone with a service request or senator involvement seen a touch on their case? My service request is about a month now - no touch, no mail.... nothing....
I remember ven2lin posting a new touch of Oct. 01 a couple of weeks ago (after inquiring about her missing bio), I wonder if she has received biometrics by now.

Still no biometrics... doesn't matter how much you whine and winge... still no bio.. no approval... fyi i had 3 infopass appointments, 3 service requests raised, 1 senator enquiry... and still nothing....

My senator submitted a request for her senior liason at USCIS to follow-up regarding my file.
In other words (actually, in their words) they are going to try to find the physical file "...in case it's sitting on someone's desk..."
I can't believe what's going on. How many times can one call their senator?
p.s. Apparently they have 30 days to respond. So I should be hearing something by Nov 20-22.

My husband made an infopass appointment to try to talk to someone to make sure he hasn't missed his biometrics appointment, but we never got anything in the mail from them. Do you guys know if we need to bring anything special to the infopass appoint. except current residence card, extension letter, receipt, ..... anything else?

I have a feeling that once they start getting close to a year from the date of the NOA1s they left had off with -- NOA1s with a date of late January 2007 -- they might start moving again.

If and when I have to go to an INFOPASS appointment for this issue (extending the extension letter), I plan on taking my copy of my I-751 submission, any paperwork they have sent to me (biometrics receipt, biometrics appointment letter, extension letter, etc), my old card, my passport. Not sure if that is right or not, but that's what I plan to take.
On October 30, 2007 I faxed a request for help to Senator John Cornyn of Texas. Last week we received a letter that he would look into it. Today I checked the status of the case and my wife and son were approved and card production was ordered November 7,2007. Maybe TSC is back to work. Good Luck to all.

May I ask what you wrote to your senator? I am sure that he was the reason for approval - not a general working on the cases, as otherwise others would have been approved by now.

I just asked for his assistance and provided copies of the reciept notices and USCIS processing time table. I also expressed my concern of why it was taking so long.

Something sounds fishy to me. There were others with applications ahead of JLR's and still no recent touches. Either he received some kind of preferential treatment because his senator is in Texas.

Well they said they've sent a service request to Texas and I should hear from them in the mail.
But looking at the fact that my case file is still untouched, I doubt anyone even looked at it, or that a service request was sent at all.
This woman I had on the phone that day was extremely rude and not happy with me insisting on a service request. She also made sure that I couldn't note her name down (she told me she wouldn't have an employer ID) and she would say her last name unrecognizable and so fast that after the 10th attempt and me asking to repeat and spell I would give up.
I still get mad just thinking about the incident....

APPROVED!!!On November 8, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service.I don't think the letter I sent to my Senator had anything to do with it, since I never heard a thing from them. So I guess that means TSC finally went back to work!
Oh, and I guess that means I have to relinquish my crown and pass it onto the next in line... But I have a feeling the Losers will be no more soon!

What do you mean needing more cash? They've had my cash for 9 months now. Must be nice to be able to accept cash and not provide any kind of service for almost 12 months.

You send it to the senator of your state of residence. On the senator's website it usually states that they only help the people of "their" state.

Next week will make 7 months since we sent off our 1-751 petition. Do I need to contact the senator in my state now or wait a little longer since their seems to be some life in TSC. By the way who is the senator for Alabama, I mean is it Shelby or Sessions?

I think the janitor at TSC wouldn't give the staff back the space in the basement men's room closet after they took the box out to look for JLR's file, so now they have to work on the Loser files.
At least we have some estimate now of an actual processing time -- seems to be a little over 9 months from NOA1 . . . .

You might want to wait and see if some of the folks at the top of the list get approved within the next week or so . . . if so, I'm going to hold off on contacting one of my senators since that would mean my (and your) petition would probably be approved sometime in late January . . . .

yes, looks like someone is working at TSC. I will wait out this week and if there's more approvals, I might just skip involving my senator and wait out my turn - praying they are indeed working there and not just picking out the few cases that had a senator inquiry attached to it...
