Hey...I called the USCIS Customer Service Center and informed them that my application was "outside of normal processing."

She was soooo helpful.

She took my name and other information, stating that I *MIGHT* hear from them via mail within 30 days.

If I don't, I am to call back and they will send another request, which will take another 30 days.

If I still don't hear from anyone, I MUST call back and another request MIGHT be sent to me.

If all else fails, "...just know that we are behind. We have lots of applications and they are all behind."

WOW...that was amazingly helpful and informative.

Would that be the first "touch" in a long time? Maybe they are working afterall (?) Tweety, what thread do you refer to that scared you (case adjudicator)? What would one do once the one year mark is reached and letters expire? I moved to a state that does not hand out drivers licenses based on letters. Fortunately my old dl is valid for 5 more years but it would be nice to be allowed to "officiallly" move and not maintain an old address and dl!

Nothing new regarding my case. Since I've now been waiting for over 8 months and my phone inquiries to the USCIS have been a total disaster (just my luck I guess!), today I faxed a letter to my senator's casework dept. explaining the situation and asking for them to look into my case. I'm not holding my breath, but let's see what happens...

Reminds me of my local Chinese restaurant from many years back when I was living in NYC. I would call and place an order for delivery and would ask how long it would take.

"10-15 minute," I was invariably told.

Sometimes it did take 10 or 15 minutes. But sometimes it took a half-hour or more. Yet no matter what the order was, what time of day, or what day of the week, I was always told, "10-15 minute."

Good to hear you got your senator involved. Report back if anything new happens. I want to involve my senator as well. I hope this is the wild card to get out of this TSC mess.

Well, it's obvious you're a loser just like the rest of us.

If you sent in your I-751 in December 2006, though, your window to apply for citizenship opened up last month. Have you applied? That will force adjudication of the I-751, assuming it's still not adjudicated by the time the citizenship interview comes up.

I wonder how many of us will end up having that happen.

We're going for Nani's citizenship just as soon as we can. If for nothing else then at least for not having to deal with this pathetic excuse for a government agency any more after that. Also, it will make traveling elsewhere a lot easier seeing that Nani needs a visa for just about any country she'd want to visit. But then we have to wait until June next year to file the N-400.

I'm just on hold within USCIS - estimated wait-time 20-25 minutes supposedly they transfer me to someone to escalate my case... whatever.... something tells my I won't get the answer I like lol

OMG does USCIS have their call center outsourced offshore!??? I just spoke to someone I could barely understand (and my English is quite good). The worst part was that I had to lecture them on how to interpret their posted processing times, I also had to beg/order them to do the service request... Oh the horror... now I know what everyone is talking about with the customer service line.... My first encounter....
Oh well, to sum it up, they will send a service request to the service center, and supposedly TSC will send me a letter explaining why my case is taking so long... oh well, we'll see. Official part done... now on to the congressional... As they didn't tell me it would take 30 days for them to react, I will give them exactly one week to react and then pull the congressional....

We sent an online form to our Senator in North Carolina, explaining our situation regarding the I-751.

Less than a week passed and his office sent a follow-up document in the mail, asking for authorization so that he can request further information from the Texas No-Service Center.

We just mailed this document off today, so we shall keep everyone posted.

Now THAT's service!



If we don't hear anything back by the end of October, I shall hop on my broom and fly to the TSC to shake things up....

That's 30 minutes of your life you're not gonna get back. The bots at that disservice line are completely useless. I've done this once and have since chosen to have my Congress folks do the querying for me. That's the better way to go. They should just turn this 1-800 number off and lower the fees.

I will involve mine in a couple of days as well.

I finally broke down and did the same thing today (10/10/07). My senator has an online form to fill out with your information. You can then print this form out and send it to his office. I had to call his office to get the address (for some reason it wasn't listed on the form or the web site). When i called the operator said I could fax my letter to his home office in Macon, Ga. So I faxed the letter, the printout of my case status from the USCIS web site, a printout with the dates the USCIS said they received my documents, and finally a copy of the processing times for the TSC with the I-751 fielded circled for reference.

Hopefully I will hear something back in the coming weeks.

I guess this is the way to go....bring out the Feds! I will wait until next week when my 30days are over then call back the 800#... WHEN that doesn't work i will write to my senator. I am also considering going for an infopass appointment to get a stamp and in the process find out what is REALLY going on in Texas. May be the lost our stuff!!

By the way I did the same thing 3 weeks ago and they gave me a confirmation number starting with "T" it was about 13 numbers long. HHHMmmm maybe he just pulled it out of his @ss!

I forgot to mention I got a reponse some weeks ago regarding my first sevice request.. they said they are processing my case and the the cr189 will not be granted? until the I-751 is approved....

Sooo ...still not much further than I was way back in febuary ....

Also requested a third service request a few weeks ago and submitted an application to my senator kay bailey hutchinson to contact USCIS on my behalf to see what is happening to my case...

I don't want to leave it until one year later to see if USCIS have done anything... the customer service line said my card had been extended for one year so I shouldn't have to worry until the one year is up.... hah!!... not going to let that happpen, going to try everything I can do to push this through...otherwise I believe you will be in line forever

It's the only way to put a push on the TSC, and most importantly, for us to get our lives moving forward!

The lack of accountability is absolutely ridiculous. If any one of us performed this way on our jobs, we wouldn't be employed for too long!

I'm going to be at 6 months from NOA1 a week from tomorrow. I don't know what this business is about waiting an extra 30 days in case they have sent you something by mail (presumably either a notification that card production has been ordered or an RFE) because such things would be reflected on the online case status and you could find it out immediately.
