I'm from the Dominican Republic, my fiance its American we want to file for a K3 visa or K1 , it got to our attention that the DR has a backlog of over 25000 cases and its taking them 2 years to give an interview , some people have told us to get married in another country and file for a K3 visa. Is that even possible?

Please help!!!

Hi Juli

My wife is from the Dominican Republic and we got married in Aruba.... and according to the K3 we need to go thru the Caracas Embassy...the reason we got married was a fluke as we were going on vacation and decided to make the best of it... After you file the K3 package normally but in the 129F form you need to put the embassy that correspond with where you got married... now we are in the process of getting our Venezuela visa

I pm d you the revelant info...

That would be difficult.... if a Dominican went to Puerto Rico to get married... then they would be in the US (as Puerto Rico is a territory of the US) hence no need then for any type of visa
