Ok so a few days maybe weeks ago i call the NVC to find out why we've not recieved the IV fee bill and the I864... they said it was sent and should of been there by now... Well i kindly say its still not here can you re send please.. No problem sir we'll get it all back out to you asap.

So today i thought i'd call again just to check the status and see if everythings ok, explaining the re send etc. The lovely lady said hmm thats weird can i just confirm your address.. Its 1405 blah blah Avenue right... Errr No.. its 1404 blah blah Avenue.. always has been and we've recieved stuff before so no address has changed....Oh well you see sir we've been sending the forms to 1405 blah blah Avenue.

OOOOH... NO WONDER WE'VE NOT BEEN GETTING THEM THEN!!!

GRRRR

So i'm gonna speak to my wife today and get her to see if the neighbours have got any of the forms... however i think the last time her neighbours reieved a package that was for us instead of them walking it to us next door they sent it back to the post office!!!

Oh man reading your story kinda gave me a flashback ,
they did the exact same thing to us when we first filed the I 129f ,
they send us the NOA 1 ( to correct adress )
then askd for a RFE wich we never resivd after numerouse phonecalls and confirming the adress we heard they got the wrong house # in theyr files wich we had them correct ,
so finaly after 2 month of first atempt to send the RFE we had it in mail ,
the point is how can they get the adress wrong when they already have the right adresse in theyr system to send NOA 1 beats me ,
anyhow I hope you will hear something from them soon good luck Lona

Btw. are we sure that it's completely random? I was just thinking that if we could gather jointly a huge amount of case numbers & IV-bill barcode numbers & generation dates we might be able to make an algorithm that could count out the formula of how the IV-bill barcodes are determined. Then we could turn it out to a shortcut as well smile.gif. Still, we could do it after our visas are approved so any data like that won't be too sencitive to give out or equal. It's just a thought, I've never seen an IV-bill so I dunno, but I was just thinking smile.gif...

I'm betting that the number is directly related to how many they've sent out that year. This would make it near impossible for us to predict since only a fraction of the immigrant visas handed out are on the forums and a lot of them are ones that have been swimming in the NVC sea for a while waiting for a visa number to become available. I just wish they would get rid of the whole random number thing all together so that our lives would be easier smile.gif

Oh dear oh dear I am so sorry they pooped it up for yet another VJer

it's our lives and hopes and plans that are being trampled on and they really do owe us a greater degree of care

they spelled my name ONE letter wrong when I entered on k1 and that caused a refusal from the social security office..

This thing is not over until its over and an unconditional 10 year green card is nailed to a part of our anatomy where the sun does not shine

It's the SHOCK when it goes wrong that is so hard - once we recover its just a lingering resentment for a while - so chin up guys at least you know the answer and it is moving...

Ugh, that's horrible wacko.gif!

The worst part, for me, is the fact that my surname has 10 letters and among those five vowels with one umlaut wacko.gif. The chances of miss spelling that one are too great sad.gif.

Personally I don't think it's over before you've gotten citizenship. Then they are unable to throw you out or equal. Of course, you may still go to prision for being dumb but that's rather remote. All this paperwork and red tape for such a little thing...

Thanks guys! We're almost there. happy.gif

Stabu, I thought the same thing as well but we would need copies of the actual IV bills before sending them to the NVC to figure out what it is that makes them different from one another. Unfortunately, I don't have mine.

Oh well... it should only take about 2 weeks from the date they said they sent it. Of course that could be more, this is the NVC we're talking about after all. rolleyes.gif
