Now that I have the NOA2 in hand which we were approved July 27, got the paper on August 1st, how long is the waiting period to know if NVC has our petition? And once they have it, is there anything I should do then? I filed a K1 visa to have my fiance come here to get married.

So any help on this will be appreciated.

You should call everyday to find out when they received it and when they will forward it to the embassy. They will also give you a new NVC case number which is different from the receipt # you got at the CSC.

If this was for a fiance/ee visa give them about 2 weeks. Everything I have read on here is it can take that amount of time or longer (hopefully not) to reach them. The turn around time for them to send it to the embassy is pretty quick, it will not be in the automated system.

There were lucky who got their case number just in 3 to 5 days after NOA2! grrrrrrrrr I guess its just like NOA2.....unfair enough.........

Congrats on the approval I believe the NVC has up to 90 days to process paperwork but you might want to call them and verify.
