How pretty is that!!

I just realized you are in Florida. We are actually pondering going further south. Our plan is to go to Nebraska, as my Sister and family are there, all good, but we have decided that really we need warmer weather so Florida is a a definate option. The thing is, we don't want to live in a major center anymore, we are thinking smaller town - but not so small that there are no phones haha - Suggestions!?

Plus my Brother in Law walked out of his job this morning, after 22 years, so I suppose they have fewer ties in nebbie now

I wanna be there too!!!! Chilling with a drink under a palm tree!! I have never seena palm by the way...Chicago is about as south as I have ever been in my life...

This is the closest I can get from a palm tree right now...my little pony palm. Saved from Lowe's for 2$ because there was no leaves on it, grew really half of the summer until a squirrel ate half of it, regrew the rest of the summer....but now dying in the cold because it would be eaten by the cats if I brought it inside anyways...

I LOVE the view from your balcony, Mephys. It looks so peaceful and serene. Your palm tree's hilarious. OMG.... last year I bought a poinsettia and put it outside after Christmas. And guess what?!! It started blooming red flowers two weeks ago!!!! I was so excited!! (It's the little things, doncha know. lol)

Trailmix, I can so relate. We chose a small town also. We are in Mount Dora. It's less than an hour to everything ((including a major airport (Orlando), which is is a must)) but still retains that small town atmosphere. I absolutely love it. In fact, life would be almost perfect if only my family and friends would move here.

Anyway, there are LOTS of lovely small towns in Florida. And so much to do. There's always a festival or something going on to keep you busy. And the beaches are gorgeous. *sigh* Check out Google maps to zero in on place names. Then you can do a search for the demographics of that town. Plus I'm here if you have any questions.

P.S. I can understand your BIL walking out of his job after 22 years. I wanted to do that, myself, sometimes.

we had our first snow last wed, just a few flakes (no california jokes please). had more snow on sat but that melted off quickly. i've learned how to tell when the snow is coming our way - it's not the migrating candian geese but the migrating seagulls!

How does one stay motivated at work when you haven't been paid the last payroll? hmmmm...

I don't know why, but I just assumed they had missed your cheque or something, I didn't know that they just didn't have the $$$$. That's a problem!!

Interesting, one of the final straws for my brother in law was that they wouldn't pay him his travel time coming back from training for a specialty job they were sending him on.

He is on his way back to the building to drop off his keys etc. He told the guy on the phone that if they ever actually have work where he will be PAID, then he MIGHT consider it.

Who do these companies think they are? I mean reaallllyyyy

Yeah the view is cool, but to say it's quiet with the 60 Canadian geese on the lake....day and night, everyday!!!!

Oh my goodness, Mephys, the sunset pics are GORGEOUS. But the Canada Geese..... grrrrrr..... I can't stand those things. I've walked through too many messy parks to think kindly of them anymore.

ETA: I am unemployed and intend on keeping it that way. Actually, that's a little lie. I'm on hiatus right now. I'll probably look for something on a casual basis in the new year. Maybe.

Those darn geese. Those pictures are gorgeous, lovely spot. Do you get a lot of bugs? We used to live near a river and the bugs at night were kooky.

yeah my husband keeps telling me, pollution makes gorgeous sunsets...

They are some mosquitos, but it's still a very opened area, not too many woods around, so it wasn't that bad. We did make few bike rides at night around the lake, and then it's better to keep your mouth shut

These geese, well they are moke active during the summer, but I am lucky I run the AC all night and can't hear them, and since the cold weather as arrived they have been much more quiet. But it's disgusting outside with all the geese poop, we can barely walk with the kids without coming back with all this green poop underneath our shoes




Doesnt suck too bad...they are my friends and just miss me a lot I like it when people DESIRE me Just doesnt help me much in my job search

I like fire ants! and palm trees.

Haven't seen any fire ants in Sunny FLA. I've seen them in New Orleans though. They were so cute in their little red trucks and asbestos suits.
