trailmix is right... it is sold in the toy department. it is made by a toy company. it is a toy, nothing more. i think people get out of it what they want to. the power of suggestion is very interesting indeed.

That's bad. The whole thing is bad. That they make couples move apart for an extended period of time - I still don't understand it. Glad you are going up on Wednesday too, that will make you feel better. How long are you staying?
Delicia
I am staying until Sunday, I haven't banked much vacation time yet, so with it being a 4 day weekend in the U.S. for Thanksgiving, I only have to use 1 vacation day. Hopefully, Air Canada will be good to me, and the Canadian Immigration people too. They always give me such a hard time.

I am thinking about renaming my blog to 'The Accidental Immigrant' Whatcha think?

I think that is an excellent idea

So what is the scoop going in to Canada? Do you just bring proof of ties like Canadians do, when going the other way.

It must be getting late, I had to re-write that last line twice so it would make sense haha
Delicia
Last time, I just brought my complete CIC immigration file, complete with my withdrawal letter and my FOSS notes. I have a couple pay stubs and a lease agreement for my apartment in Phoenix just in case. My file must be flagged or something, same with my husband. He gets pulled into secondary every single time when he is returning to Canada and they just ask him over and over why he isn't a citizen yet (he has been a PR for about 13 years). It's funny because he has no problems whatsoever arriving on the U.S. side.

That is weird about your Husband and uncalled for, I mean really, he has been here so long. I guess once someone is flagged it's just going to be a hassle always.

So when he moves he will lose his PR status, do you guys care or have you both had enough of the great white north?
Delicia
We have both had our fill.

Hey has anyone here ever used a Quija board? IR5 mentioned it in another thread which made me think of it - and also confirmed what I think he does in his spare time, but I digress - sooo have you used one, what was the result, good fun or are you talking to the spirits out there!?

Just because I have a human skull in my closet is no proof that I'm a necromancer or otherwise dabble in the black arts. laughing.gif I've always wondered who or what is actually on the other end of the Oiuja board? I figure 99% of the time nothing happens, it's that 1% of the time that has me worried. Can't figure out if it's a spirit or just Mickey Satan himself. At this time of the year, it's probably Miroslav Satan. laughing.gif

Online shopping kicking.gif

One thing I have found about online shopping is that it takes a lot longer to choose something as there is so much to choose from (when shopping for the rellies in the U.S. - Canada is a different story since they are dragging their feet getting their stores online!!).

I picked out a quilt for my Niece and one for my Sister/her Husband this weekend. It took several hours. First of all I got the address wrong, my fault (they had moved since my last order and I didn't notice it was wrong) - so cancelled that order. Then I went to re-place the order with a representative since I had to cancel that one - and as we were wrapping that up we got cut off. Finally I get the order placed on the 3rd go and they email me the next day because they don't accept Canadian credit cards AND even if I get my Sister's card they can't modify the order once it is in blink.gif

So I go back to Penny's, which is where I ordered one of the quilts from, cancel the order I had placed the night before and order 2 quilts from them.

Ok maybe online shopping isn't as much fun as I implied.
Krikit
laughing.gif Sounds like some of my online shopping experiences.

Okay, I'm done procrastinating. Off to shop I go. sad.gif

Good morning charles. I don't know what you mean by Canadian bacon though! haha I hear that all the time here. The only thing about our bacon that is Canadian is that it comes from Canadian pigs! Well, I'm back from American Thanksgiving in NC. I hope everyone else has returned home safe and sound also. The number of car accidents on the highways was astounding. And they weren't just minor fender benders either..... they were all serious serious accidents. So there were quite a few people who were not having a good Thanksgiving this year. My heart goes out to them.

Thanks for getting Charles his morning coffee, Carla. I was worried he'd have to do without. lol
