Good morning everyone and thanks for the coffee Carla, that's a cute moose!

Well today is shopping day, the day when we go out and do - well lots of things that require going to a store! I also need to have a look at the things that you can't get/taste different in the U.S. spreadsheet, although I don't think a grocery store is where we will be.

Also need to go to the hairdresser and get my hair cut. It is my Husband's birthday too.

We have like a 37 inch tv we got a couple of years ago, I can't decide what to do with it. Give it away, sell it on kijiji, take it to Florida. It's a tv, I mean really, make a decision already!

When one has a lot on their plate, everything feels insurmountable.

We could decide each little thing for you... laughing.gif

Okay okay, I'll start:
sell the TV.
Get another one for probably less (new/used/whatever) when you get to your new home.
Better yet, I will be brutally honest and advise you to sell it and never get another one. Ha!

Yeah, I'm leaning towards selling it/giving it away. We do have a 15 inch lcd tv that we are taking good.gif

I like tv sometimes. My Son on the other hand doesn't. He doesn't have cable or internet, what's up with that laughing.gif

Good morning. I was wondering where you were. Musta been giving your husband his birthday present. smile.gif

Bring the TV with you. Honestly, I gave away far more than I should have, and I really regret that. You tend to get a little over-zealous in the whittling-down department. Maintain control. *wags finger*
trailmix
Oh and this is my Son by the way!

Well, that is the thing, we will need a tv but the big tv isn't an lcd and it's big, heavy heavy big, we are having a mover pack it so that's not really an issue.

I guess what we could do is see if there will actually be room for it in the relocube, if not it stays laughing.gif

Rap! So now I'm going to take these pictures off, in case he gets mad at me for posting them, although they are public pictures - but anyhoo, not like he is going to drop in to VJ anytime soon. laughing.gif <<<< person who can't decide what to do with the tv.

See no one has been busy posting while I've been out in the world of shopping.

First of all Crikey! - you will be glad to know that I just called my Son and he is happy to have the television!

We went to - TD Bank, Tim Horton's for lunch, clothes store, petcetera, Mark's work wearhouse, hallmark, walmart and then we went and had hair cuts.

The silliest thing TD Bank.

So we saunter in there and produce our debit cards and state that we would like access to our 'Borderless' account, on our debit cards please.

She does some stuff on the computer, checks with someone else then comes back and tells us that the U.S. dollar 'Borderless' account cannot be connected to our debit cards, we can only access it at a teller laughing.gif

So I laughed and said - 'well that's not very borderless'.

Long story short, we closed our account with them, took a bank draft and some U.S. cash and left.

Marco just called me, the Centura account is now open. Dandy! So I get my pen and paper in anticipation of writing down the account number. So he says, you were saying something about depositing some money in the account - I say yes, in fact we have a bank draft here to do just that, in the account that took 2 weeks to open and to which we have no debit cards!

So I say, this is a TD bank draft, you aren't going to hold the money.....right. He wants me to bring in an old TD bank statement (what does this prove?) and he will attempt to get them not to hold it.

Anyway, my Husband is going to go in tomorrow afternoon to see him, I definately am not. Maybe this belongs in the vent thread tongue_ss.gif

Marco sounds...well, ummm interesting. tongue_ss.gif I bet you'll be glad trailmix to get this banking stuff over and done with! Sounds like had a shopping extravaganza yesterday. I hope you enjoyed yourself! I've been following your postings, and you've done a bang-up job on packing and organizing! Way to go!
I had a similar TV, and my kids were fighting over who was going to get it when I moved.

Here's some coffee this morning. Just rip it off the front of the can. laughing.gif

Had a full day yesterday, great day training. Now I'm on my own. Was exhausted last night, but slept poorly and was up at 4 am. Maybe a nap is called for today!

Oh, I just LOVE fresh-from-the-garden veggies and herbs. I just bought some new herbs, myself. I managed to kill off last year's crop. Container gardening. Not conducive to people who go away a lot. I need to make a little plot for them in the garden, somewhere, so the sprinkler system can keep them alive. Unfortunately, the garden here is far smaller than the garden I had at home, so that's going to be a bit of a challenge.

Wow. A whole day and night to yourself. I had that yesterday. They're awesome. smile.gif

I found all the great herbs I wanted here- back in Canada I could never find all the ones I really wanted.

I worked at a Greenhouse for a little while in Alberta before I got my Visa- they had lots but not the traditional ones you really want (parsley, rosemary, basil, cilantro) Me and my co workers would still snack on the ones they had though smile.gif

Veggies- I have them all in pots- tomatoes, cucumbers, purple bell peppers, eggplant, I can't wait to harvest my crop.

Plus Canadian immigration, paperwork wise, is easy compared to the American system. They have pretty clear guidelines on the government site and you send everything in all at once. Plus you don't get the buffet of visas to chose from.

So I am just taking a break, sunshine here in Calgary today, have the food channel on and it's 'sugar', so aptly she is making a cake, with icing that looks like it has chocolate chips in it - looks delicious!!

My name is Haja Faruk from Brunei I am a 23 years old and a british citizen who was taken to Brunei by my father 10 years ago. He deceived me that I was going there on vacation and later married me out to a wealthy Prince in
Brunei who is 30 years older than me. I was thus forced into marriage. I was locked up in a house for six months after which I decided to accept my faith, knowing that was the only way out.

After I got my freedom back I have been allowed by my husband to have access to his account and businesses. With the help of a loyal aide I have been able to divert $4.500.000.00 as bonds into a private finance house without
his knowledge. Right now I have mapped out a plan of escape out of Brunei.

thou I have tried escaping several times and its been fruitless. Therefore I need you to send me an invisible helicopter.

If you know you are capable of handling such a huge amount of money respond to me and I will compensate you by giving you $1.000.000.00 (one million dollars) of the total fund. Note also that you must keep this transaction secret.

Yours faithfully,

I was just stressing too much about it because they hired me for nights in the firts place and I didn't want to lose my job.

Have a great day biggrin.gif

That's super news! I wouldn't like working nights either... I like the sunlight too much.

Good morning all, thanks for the Canada coffee Carla!

That's great news Mempys, working nights isn't fun sometimes. Although, I was a telephone operator at one point and worked nights and it was kind of cool.

It's 8:30 but seems much earlier, probably since we didn't go to bed until 1.

Anyhoo, packing today rah rah rah!

I bought these socks at walmart the other day, they are aloe infused socks, has anyone else seen them? They are really soft and comfortable.

*admires socks* Why they are as lovely as Laura's invisible helichopper.

Congrats on no more night shifts, Mephys!

Yes they are lovely, they are blue smile.gif are you implying that there is no aloe in them!?!?

Actually it's funny, doing so many things, I had been keeping a list of things to buy, for weeks, so on the big shopping spree the other day, when we get to walmart, I take the list out of my purse and proceed to lose it somewhere between the car and the store.

Funnier - we decided to buy a queen size air mattress, and an electric pump for it. So we do this at walmart (we both hate walmart, because it is so over crowded here). Anyway we decide on the coleman mattress and air pump, all good.

So yesterday we are sitting here and my Husband turns to me and says, where is the air mattress? I said, I don't know, did it get left on the cart or? We forgot to pick it up laughing.gif (we did purchase the air pump however!) He went back yesterday and got one (after going to the bank to see Marco - note I did not tell the bank story from yesterday as it's too - well I'm ignoring it - in fact when my Husband mentioned the bank last night I put my fingers in my ears and hummed).

We decided that rather than staying in a hotel in Calgary on Monday night we would buy an air mattress and just stay here, less hassle.

And lol at fabric kitty!!
