Seems like enough to me, hun. You'll do fine. Just bat those eyelashes if needed he he devil.gif

I tried that once, I ended up with a black eye (at least I didn't end up with a boyfriend laughing.gif ).

Is it just me or the idea of my brother giving someone a sexy eyelash swipe is well, in between hilarious and disturbing???? laughing.gif

I don't know what handsome is, but I'm fairly certain that I'm not it. laughing.gif Your brother and the word sexy are mutually exclusive. laughing.gif As for batting my eyelashes, that would just keep people from seeing my psycho eyes. laughing.gif

but... but... but... your psycho eyes are your best asset brother!!!! unsure.gif

Dammit, I always thought it was my sublime buttocks. laughing.gif No wonder I made the cover of Axe Murderer Digest.

SSN turned me away after two hrs in their waiting room..

the agent we worked with doesn't even normally handle such issues normally.. usually she works in disability claims and so wouldn't let me do anything

WHAT A F@#$%&^ WASTE OF TIME!

I did get my VA id in my new name though after that..

Good morning my Canadian coffee friends! Here's some tasty hot brew for you this morning. It's supposed to be 21C here today. blink.gif Crazy when I remember last Tuesday and we had 6 inches of snow!

Sorry to hear about your awful wait in the SSN office liz...geesh! Look around VJ and SSN's and DL's seem to be the most horrible experiences to obtain!

Spirit...I'm going to be a Resident Advocate for the Long Term Care Ombudsman program.

trailmix...your sister doesn't happen to be a Social Worker is she? laughing.gif He can't complete the job because he's too busy talking to her about his troubles! You better get down there and kick his butt! yes.gif

Woo hoo MissStacey, that's happy news! Liz, the wait at the Soc. Sec. office sounds horrible, glad to hear you at least got your other card in your new name!

Well, it's time to start packing around here - sheesh, seems like a huge job at the moment - I'm sure it will be. We have lived in this house for 8 years - I'm no pack rat, but there are about 15 totes in the storage room that we need to go through so that is the priority right now. The relocube we are getting is only 6x7 and 8 feet tall, that's not a lot of room so a lot will be thrown away/given to women in need.

I've moved many times, this is the longest I have ever lived in one place in fact, I know I just need to get moving. Normally by moving day everything is packed well in advance, I just start a tote/box for every room and pack everything and we just use a box for a few weeks.

IR5 you will be happy to know the Crown Victoria is road worthy, at least according to the Ford mechanics. We did get the compliance letter as well - it was $ 50. Car has been inspected, tires rotated, new wipers (oh so important laughing.gif ). Nice that the tires are rotated, seeing as we are going to buy new ones...but anyhoo.

Ok i'm a ramblin ramblinnnn - blink.gif

I have too much good news!
And later, when I catch my breath I really want to take the time to read a lot of sad and frustrated people's posts on here and see what I can assist with.

But first:

I got 100% on my written driver's test, and they granted me immediately with an IL driver's license. Hey, the photo even came out good. Ha! biggrin.gif

And then I stood back in line with my new license and took the motorcycle written test. Passed again!

YOOHOO!! cool.gif

Had a blast with the clerks there. Almost lost my AOS NOAs that I had along with me (why did I have them with? who knows why I ever do anything). tongue_ss.gif
The super fun clerk, who is now my friend, gave them to me. star_smile.gif

And to start the day off, I got great news on a potential job for the near future when I get me approval.
I would love to tell you more about this part of my day, but then I'd really have to kill you as I signed a paper of confidentiality.
No talky....just yet.

3 for 3 today!

I may even go out and buy a lottery ticket (something I never do).

All this does not even begin to balance out the sad news though.
(deep breath)
My wonder-full fun-loving father-in-law is quickly fading on us.
Got back from visiting with him and his wife in the Florida Panhandle a few days ago...I may go back ASAP to help around the house, etc. Be the go-girl for his amazing wife. I am so crazy about them. Damn it! Why so soon?! Waaaaaahhhh...

Absolutely. Polygamy is outlawed in the US (even in Utah laughing.gif ) so there is only one wife or husband (unless you are a practicing bigamist or politician laughing.gif ). You have a wife, a husband, a waste of skin, a boat anchor, whatever. laughing.gif The love of my life is still OK though. In Len's case, the TLM is the preferred term of endearment laughing.gif .

On a more serious note, I am so sorry to hear about your FIL's condition. My thoughts and prayers go out to him (and you too). good.gif

I saw a strange/ disturbing thing at the Social Security office yesterday:

So, the waiting room was full and I take a number and sit down. About ten minutes later, in walks a tiny little east asian girl wearing the following: hot pink micromini skirt, red knee-high stiletto boots, a lime green tube top and a silver and gold bomber jacket (it's cold here right now). She looks about 15 but I'm guessing she was probably closer to 19 or 20 because of what she's wearing and who she walks in holding hands with - a disheveled man about 45 years old.

The man tells the security guard he's there to get her SS card and is asked where his receipt is. The man immediately starts getting annoyed, "I don't have a receipt!" After being told he needed a receipt or would have to re-apply, he continues to get more upset and yell. By this point, everyone in the waiting room is staring at him and his scantily clad partner.

They take a number and take a seat. Over the next 15 minutes, the whole waiting room watches and listens as he coaches his wife (I'm assuming) in English - "SO-SHALL SE-CURE-ITEEEE" She looked frustrated and scared and he just looked mean.

I obviously started assuming a lot of things about this couple and this man...

I felt bad for the poor girl...

Ihad a friend recently visit a few South American countries! I am stocked for coffee for the next year!! Sent back boxes and boxes and boxes of coffee!! One would pay like $10-15 for coffee here, there was like $2!!!

Yup 2 bucks...as it should be. biggrin.gif

Coffee only tastes good with brown sugar or a good unpasteurized local honey.
I say "local" because it assists with allergies and has other health benefits.

I love coffee!
Yes, and good organic coffee does taste good black.
I just like my decadent coffee recipes.
