I get really cranky if they bring my coffee with my meal. I want it before the food is on the table. And, no, I don't want a refill while I'm eating. Maybe sometimes when I've finished eating. (If they didn't bring me a second cup before my food.) And don't EVER top up my cup without asking. I had it perfect the first time, thank you. I'm not much of a morning person. Can you tell?

Did I tell you guys that hubby hit a bunny with the car on the way home last night??

He tried everything he could to avoid it.. he really did.. the poor bunny zigged when he should have zagged..

I had nightmares last night.. the image and the sound.. *thunk*

UGH.

AWWWWWW. I remember the "thunk" sound when my Dad hit a bunny on PEI once. I was devastated and started bawling. Poor bunny.

Oh *tear* that is so sad! I would have had nightmares too.

I always feel so bad for little animals that get lost on the road and hit. I drive my husband to work in DC and there are always deer on the roads... they get all lost like "huh, what is this?" It's the weirdest thing - like imagine a bunch of deer running through Toronto.

We saw a deer get hit in Pentagon city the other day tres tres sad.

On one of our recent trips to Altanta we saw a baby deer on the side of the road RIGHT next to the pavement drinking out of a puddle.. i was sooooooo upset.. i didn't know what to do.. if you had stopped to try to shoo him out of the way - he'd probably have jumped right into highway traffic.. UGH.. he was soooo little.. like the size of a medium sized dog.. UGH

That makes me so sad. I would have done the same thing... I wonder where his Momma was

I wondered if she had been killed by a hunter or a car.. i was SOOO upset..

That same day was saw a donkey being hauled down the highway in a open trailer behind a car.. that made me laugh outloud!!

OH everyone here is Canadian so I can tell this story - HILARIOUS.

So, about 5 years ago or so, I'm in Muskoka at a friends' cottage. He had a HUGE place and there were about 50-60 people over... I guess it was a party. We were being pretty loud but it was May long weekend so everyone is loud in Muskoka at that time.

There's a knock at the door... he must have been at the door for several minutes knocking. One of my friends answers the door and it's friggen Kim Mitchell sans hat I guess he was renting the cottage next door.

Kim: Yea hey can you guys keep it down? Some of us are trying to relax here.
Friend: Oh wow. Sorry... we'll turn the music down.
Kim: No it's not just the music, you guys are making too much noise.
(he was really really p*ssy at this point)
Friend: sure ok

Kim Mitchell turns around and starts walking down the steps and my friend says "Is that the Patio Lanterns dude?"

I swear, it was like we'd all rehearsed it... all at the same time we all start singing "Patio Lanterns..."

I don't think Mr. Mitchell was impressed.

The roads were icy in several spots so I guess the one hour delay was to allow for some melting. It didn't really help any, we had one teacher flip her car and another teacher slid into her car...buses were terribly late.

Meh, the thought of food first thing in the morning just makes me wanna hurl. I can't even sip coffee first thing...I have to give it about 15-20 minutes.

i hit a bunny once back in 81 with a pickup, it was hit by the plastic spoiler and that knocked it out. i picked it up and took it to my then g/f's house and by the time i got there it had woke up and was fine. we turned it loose in the yard and it lived out there for years.
around here though, squirrels are flattened on a frequent basis.

Friends told me they recently hit an owl very close to their home, and it was injured quite badly.. the wife of the pair was so upset that the husband drove her home and he went back to "finish the job".. by the time he made it back to the scene, another person had come by the injured owl who was now dead from it's injuries, and told my friend Justin that he was going to take the owl home with him and have him stuffed

Yeah, I so don't get that. Nothing creeps me out more than dead animals on display.

Good morning. My Sister and her Husband hit a deer a couple of months ago - or part of a deer, maybe the antlers, i think it took off.

Came out of left field on the highway, damaged the light and something.

Soooooo..... too fast to catch and stuff?

Actually the deer took off and it's all forest around there so no way they would have caught it, but had they tried it would have been a much more interesting story.

So our new camera arrived from airmiles the day before yesterday, so I just took some pictures with the old camera and new to compare them.

Why is this necessary? I do not know. The one camera is a 5 megapixel Olympus, the new one is a Sony cybershot at 8.1 megapixels I think it is.

Let's see them!

Well I just took some but here is the thing, when I open them in photoshop the old camera default is a resolution of 300, the new is 72 - so they don't look all the different, the new ones just look brighter. Seems to me that perhaps I will have to read the manual as it appears it doesn't default to its best resolution!

You wouldn't BELIEVE the number of old military bomb practice sites that have been built on top of in the US. It blows my mind. (No pun intended. lol) Stay away from KB Home. They knowingly built and sold homes on bomb sites without disclosing the information to the purchasers. They've had a number of lawsuits and settlements across a number of States..... not just for bomb site sales. For home warranties and HOA fees (Home Owners Association) and properties that turned into swamps.... you name, they've done it. Bad outfit.

Along with Chiefs' QBs. Most places have plenty of road kill but I think the worst place is Maine. For some reason, Maine is crawling with Moose. We were in the Tahoe and we saw several of them on the road, they were the size of the truck. Good thing we didn't hit them. A friend from Quebec even noted, "this is worse than Quebec." If you hit a moose, it won't be the moose that gets flattened.

I dunno....Georgia seems quite popular with "Awesome Possum" and "Spoon of Raccoon" on the road kill menu. Delicacies really, if you hit them just right.
