hey.. I just looked at target.com to check out the Dyson Animal

THere's 3!
DC07
DC15
DC17

I'm assuming the latter is the best cuz it's the latest..

Got my wedding registry on my mind.. =) I hate Oliver's vacuum.
Sigh.. he loves it though!

but I think the temptation of a Dyson will make him ok to part with it.

Holy crap! it's $$$@#$$%.
$499 @ Macy's.

I've been tempted to get one of those Dyson Animal DC-17's myself. $550 at Linen 'n Things. But they always have 20% coupons. Add in they're giving out $50 gift cards too and it's hard to not buy it.

I bought mine at bed bath and beyond. they allowed me to use the 20% off coupon!!! We went with the Dyson 17 I believe, 2007 model!! Works great!! No major complaints, just that it does feel a bit "plasticy" We bought ours last feb and nothing has broke!!

My house in Victoria was all wood or tile and once could tell the difference if I did by hand or used a mop like object. And yep, I'm a clean freak!! Soon about to get the dyson out and vacuum!! love my Dyson!! lol

Ohmygosh, I would LOVE a Dyson!!! You're the first person I know who has one. I have a really excellent vacuum right now so I can't justify buying one. But it's good to know a fellow cleanfreak loves them. Can't give me a better sales pitch than that. smile.gif

My MIL washes her floors by hand. I'd never seen anyone do that before but yeah, I can see how mops would be a breeding ground of germs and such. And as for the Dyson...OMG YES! We want one so bad but gotta wait til we can afford it. Maybe by then the prices will have dropped some.

I'm trying SO HARD not to be a cleanfreak about our new house...but it ain't easy. *sigh*

Has anyone here ever had pizza without cheese? Anyway, I had read something somewhere about someone who ordered their pizza without cheese, so I tried it last night. Ham and Pineapple, pizza hut - no cheese.

Anyway, it's pretty darn good! We usually have Dominoes - so the only down side was that pizza hut has large pieces of ham which, probably due to the lack of cheese, dry out a bit around the edges.

We don't have pizza very often but calories in pizza are so huge I just decided this might be a good way to cut back on some.

Next i'll try it without the crust tongue_ss.gif

Hmmm, the problem with this option is that #1, I'd have to BUY something I don't really want. #2, I only steam clean my carpets once a year (no kids, or pets), and #3, I want to do the least amount of cleaning work I can! laughing.gif

My Mom said a few weeks ago that she was thinking of buying a carpet cleaner - as in a bissell - I said, you really need to buy someone to push it around.

Anyhoo, hope the carpets come out sparkling!

Good morning. Carpet cleaners did a wonderful job. It was all the more better because I didn't have to do it! I've been doing ESL work at a local school for Albanian students. They had a lot of kids that needed assistance, and ended up hiring an ESL teacher. Great I say! Until she got her feet wet, the teacher asked me not to come in until she got "organized". Well, it's been a month now...how long does one need to get organized?? I'm going to phone her today and find out what's up. If she's not interested in my assistance (and why wouldn't someone want assistance for free????) then I'm going to be looking elsewhere.

Here's a hot cuppa.

Carla rose.gif
Krikit
Morning Carla! I'd like to get my carpets cleaned also. Actually, I'd like to get rid of my carpets altgether and put in hardwood. Why in the world anyone would install off-white carpeting to begin with is beyond me, but whatever.

The ESL teacher sounds like she "organized" you out of a job. LOL. Definitely call her, though, just in case. Sounds weird that they have an entire school for Albanian students. I had no idea there were that many in one area.
Carlawarla
Yikes....we have off white carpets as well! Ick! Gene put them in. He's a neat freak and it doesn't bother him at all (the colour). I too want to get hardwood as well! good.gif I don't see many hardwood floors here in this part of the US.

I was volunteering with two families (5 kids). They were having a difficult time as they just moved to the US in the summer. I started with them early fall. They are amazing kids and I loved working with them. There were other kids at the school, from other first languages, maybe not needing as much work, but I could only work with so many kids at a time, and these 5 really needed help fast! This ESL teacher they hired, fell into their lap. She IS super organized, and really "administratively" focussed. She said she
wanted to test kids and see where they were at before organizing a game plan. She's been there about a month and a half now, and is still doing "paperwork". I'm annoyed because in the meantime, these kids I was working with aren't getting any services. I have called her twice now.

I love volunteering. I've done it most of my life, even while I was working. I have so much to offer. I'm annoyed that someone thinks that MY time isn't as valuable as theirs I guess. When instead, mine is MORE valuable, since I have less of it.

Will call her today.
