Looks like I'm the first one up this morning?

I get up with Gene at 5 am to make sure he eats some breakfast and make his lunch. Yesterday I went to the grocery store at 3:30 pm and it was jammed. I saw all the cars there and thought..."forget this!!!". So, it's 6:20 a.m. and I've showered and I'm thinking I"m going to head off to the grocery store this morning. We're having an open house Saturday night, and I need lots of things! Open house as in .... sharing food, drink, music, good times...we're not moving or anything! Anyway, I"m thinking that the grocery store isn't going to be busy at this time of morning! Wish me luck!

I'm up too. Usually Joel and I are both up at the same time for work. I'm off until January 8 but I still wanted to get up and see him off. He doesn't like breakfast this early, nor does he want coffee. Anywho, I brewed me some Timmy's and I sit here with a nice hot cuppa.
Discussion: What has been the craziest (silliest, idiotic, etc.) thing that's been said to you since your arrival in the States (or has been said to your USC husband/wife)?
Co-worker: So your husband is from Canada...which state?
Me: You mean province?
Cw: Oh, they don't have states there?
Me: Um...no. They're called provinces. He's from Nova Scotia.
CW: Ah...so, does he speak Canadian?
Me: (

) Uh...well, he speaks English. (How does one respond to that?)
CW: Oh, I just thought they spoke Canadian.
Me:
BTW, my coworkers are teachers....scary!
