What???

Your husband actually cleans?

I have to admit he does. Well, after a fashion. Dusting does not include lifting anything up, vacuuming does not include moving anything out of the way and it has literally taken him years to figure out how to scoop out cat poop. But he does a mean bathroom!

Mel used to everything- all the cooking and cleaning.

I miss being his girlfriend- he treated me like a Queen. Now that I am his wife- it is a different scenario all together. smile.gif

Lord, you sound like Derek! Last night I cleaned all my good jewelry - wedding ring, engagement ring, great-mothers ring, etc. Anyway, normally I would let them all dry on the counter, but I knew that Calvin would start messing with them if I left them out so I put them on a paper towel and put it up on the highest shelf in the kitchen. Fast forward to this morning as I am running out the door to work and am looking for my rings. I run into the kitchen, reach up to the shelf and no paper towel! helpsmilie.gif At this point I know 2 things, Derek is a neat freak and he also cleaned the cat litter out before he left for work. So I am freaking out thinking the towel and the litter have been thrown down the garbage chute and I am going to have to go through 100 apartments worth of trash to find my jewelry. Long story short, he fortunately threw the towel out in the kitchen trash and had not taken that to the trash room with the litter, phew! But I still ended up dumping out all the trash on the kitchen floor and pawing through it at 7:45am. And of course this is all his fault. laughing.gif

see, there you go! you shoulda put them in a better place AND informed your husband. kicking.gif

Good morning everyone. I have a new screen name now! Better suited to me than that cartoboy...I'm neither a cartographer, nor a boy!

I got up at 5 am this morning, as usual. And did two loads of laundry, cut and boxed all my Christmas goodies I baked yesterday...one for us, one for the neighbours (she doesn't do any Christmas baking anymore), and I address and wrote in EVERY Christmas card I sent out! 100 in total. Who cares about cleaning eh? haha I have a HUGE mess to clean up today. AFTER I do some Christmas shopping.

Here's a coffee until I return...

Each time I go to the landromat I see women doing loads and loads by themselves. Hubby goes with me every Thursday night.. and helps lug and sort and fold - I am blessed.. It's the putting away I dislike the most -and many weeks he'll put all the clothing on hangers himself.

I really can't complain about the cleaning- Mel has cleaning ladies that come twice a month. They really don't do that great of a job but at least they vacuum and mop all the floors- 2 things I don't enjoy doing.

Miss Stacey is cute!

Sprailenes, I agree, Customer Service here sucks! Well, that's been my experience in St. Louis. I mentioned this to a neighbour, and she just shrugged. I think that's what most people do. I don't think it's acceptable, and won't just shrug. I make it a point to always be polite and pleasant with sales staff, and I expect the same. I'm shopping in their store, they want my business, then they'd better treat me like their bread and butter... laughing.gif Saying that however, if I don't get good customer service, then I'm not just going to take my business elsewhere either. At least not until I've brought something up with the manager to see if they can't make things right, or make some changes with their service or personnel. If you don't say anything, then nothing will change.

You're welcome charles!

So. I came home yesterday to a Christmas card on my driveway. I picked it up and took it inside. It had a weird odour but I opened it anyway. IT WAS FROM THE GARBAGE MEN!!!!! blink.gif So I said out loud (to no one but myself) "So THAT'S why it smells like garbage." (I kid you not, people.)

Wow, is that ever weird! But SWEET! haha That is so heartwarming....truly! Anyway, I don't know about that. I've never got a card from the sanitary engineer before! Here, we pay monthly for our garbage pick up. I've only ever seen the company once actually pick it up, so I don't have any personal relationship with them. It's not a "public service" here, so I'm not going to be giving them a card, or tip.

The mailman on the other hand has been a real sweetie. His name is Joe and he's a very very kind man. I've spoken to him many times. Now, I can't give him a gift of cash, as he's a public employee, but I am planning on giving him a Christmas card, with a gift cerficiate from a local coffee shop around the corner. Might be nice for him to stop in a for hot mug of coffee this winter!

Speaking as someone who gets abused by customers regularly, there are some days and some people who make it VERY difficult to be kind.

i sure hope you don't work for hughesnet ranting33va.gif oh have i got some stories for you about them!

LOL No, I don't work for them. I work for a small, independantly owned specialty needlework and knitting shop, where we get customers who threaten us with "well, I just won't come here anymore" when they don't get what they want (most of time ridiculous requests, I might add). I can only bend over backwards for so long, people!

i've never seen anything like hughesnet. two times this year the internet went out because they didn't inform me of some changes in the settings that i should do at my end. the first time it was out for just over a week, the second time it worked but i could not access a secure site for 2 months (https:// ). i fiddeled with it thinking it was something on my end, thinking all that time no, they couldn't do this again but finally gave up and sure enough, it was them again! and to top it all off, every time i've had to contact them about these changes in settings, they email me a customer comment form. they have my email, why can't they inform me of these changes prior to my system being broke? eta: the last instance i was told by the tech when i explained the issue that "it's a known problem...." the first words outta his mouth!
this latest episode was when i changed modems from the older type to the newer type, the idjits changed the plan i had and the price went up $21.81 a month. oh it was their fault again, a computer error! right! but what irked me out of it all was telling two customer service reps that i wanted the overcharge credited back to my credit card (i believe i'd have a difficult time disputing the charge if they gave me a credit on my account instead of crediting the card back if i paid the bill and the so called credit disappeared). nor do i see a reason to pay them in advance for service! things got escalated all the way to some supervisor, and he's the one that told me if i put that charge in dispute with my credit card that my service would be cut off until it's resolved. that does not sound like something mastercard would agree with.

Awwwwwww I saw your post yesterday, but I thought you were saying that you didn't know what you'd change your name to, if you could. I don't think you should change your name quite frankly! Your name is cute!
