Hello there, I'm currently freaking out beyond belief... I'm in the process of waiting on my NOA2, i received my NOA1 in May. I was wondering if I were to write to my state rep, what would I ask for? You see my fiancé is currently doing basically nothing in France, with no hopes, and it's killing both me and of course her. I'm just looking for any bit of information, of course the telephone contact is no help and it just makes me depressed. So if anyone could help me on what i need to ask of the representative please let me know. Thanks.

How long have you been waiting?

I think its way to early to be contacting a representative for help. You haven't even hit the 3 month mark. You may waste the reps time asking for help while your NOA2 will probably be on the way. Save the rep for when you are past the normal time frame.

The time waiting apart is hard on everyone... we can all sympathize, but the thing this whole process teaches is PATIENCE.

I know how you feel. so this is what i did.

I wrote to my congressman in ohio explaining my story and how i had sent off the K1 and was waiting for my NOA2. She sent me a letter back saying she had someone looking into it for me. I then got another letter from her saying she contacted the CSC in hopes of getting some information on my case. I am not sure it sped up the process but it was at least comforting knowing that a state congressman confirmed my case's existence over there at the CSC.

Good luck,
mikeycaro

ps. the letter from the congressman also contained visa processing times and what not.

Doesn't look like you're yet outside VJ's suggested adjudication time (August 19th).

It's much too early to be contacting an elected official - they will probably tell you the same thing. If you are past the 6 month mark or outside the processing times posted on the USCIS site, then you should find your State Senator or Congressman's website, download and fill out the privacy form, write a brief letter requesting an inquiry into your case status and fax it to their office. They cannot do anything without the privacy form. If you're lucky, someone will inquire into your case and report back to you.

I agree, it's too early to contact your representative. There are still people who filed before you waiting for their NOA2's. Alot of people are in the same boat as you. We just have to be patient. Calling and nagging your representative won't do anything except make them less likely to help you later if you really need it.

I agree with Kitkat1.

But here is how you find your local representative.
