Just wanted to share with you, the lovely day I had having my medical in London.
It is so easy when you know what to expect. I knew what to expect as my brother had had one done and it is nothing to worry about!
Here is the low down.....
Turned up to a mansion block, went in and found the place that looked like someones apartment, the inside was lovely, in fact it was a huge apartment!
I had to give the receptionist my passport, a photo, my medical questionnarie (that I hadn't finished as I was stuck on one question, but it was no big deal). She then put my paper work together and handed back my passport, told me to take a seat in the lovely waiting room, which was very chilled out with huge leather sofa's.
I had to read and fill in another questionnaire (it feels like they are trying to trick you, but really they are not) So I filled that in and then had to read the HIV warning about the blood test I was to have, it reads very scary, you have been warned, but if you are not expecting it, it will freak you out.
It basically says that you consent to a HIV test and if it is positive, you may be or will be declined a visa. Not only that but you will be shunned by the UK too! 
You may have a hard time getting a loan, job, mortgage, etc and your name maybe availble to company's!Basically, game over!
Anyway, i signed the bits and she took them back and stapeled my photo to the form and handed it to a DR.
I waited about half hr before a nurse came to get me, we went over my vaccination history, mine seems to be SO out of date, but when I crossed checked it on the pre vaccination form they send you in pack 3, I thought I was up to date, hey ho, maybe NOT!
So I had a choice of paying to have 2 shots done there and then or I could save cash, go home and have it done at my DR's then have my DR fax proof that I had it done.......
I chose to have it done with her, pay the price and get it on it's way (besides trying to get my sodding history from my dr was a nightmare in itself!)
So I had 2 shots and then was given a certificate and was told to go back to the waiting room with a numb heavy arm and a sore other arm! A shot in each for me!
Oh and a warning about reactions to the jabs!!
I waited another 20 mins to half hr and a male Swedish DR came to get me.
Went into his big DR room with the big DR desk! and he quickly went over my form, I asked about my question and we got that sorted. He was totally cool about the form, it is no huge worry.
He then weighed me, took my height, asked me to read off an eye exam board with each eye.
Asked me to undress to underwear stage, pop a gown on and lie on the DR bed. He checked my stomach, reflexes and heart and lungs with his stethoscope. It kinda seemed pointless having the gown on, so I opted to not bother, he had to have access to my stomach and back, so whatever. But ladies, if you want a female in the room, you can request a nurse before hand.
Then he took blood and told me it is just for HIV, which I knew! I know some of you don't trust the system and think they will drug test and whatever else, but they don't.
He made general chit chat and was friendly, he told me it is amazing how many people lie about their questionnaires, ie, drinking problems etc (this was just chit chat)
Then he warned me and apologised that they have to check with every person that you are a male or female!!!
It's kinda odd, but whatever, I don't care, you get to the point you are there so just bring it all on! I was expecting it anyway, my brother had pre warned me and with the guys sometimes you just pull out your pants and they have a quick peak.
He told me it was SO obvious I was female but they have to check by law.
SO, I was on the couch and had to pull my knickers down quickly to prove that I had no dangly bits that I shouldn't!
He then quickly looked and said, yep your a girl!

Then I got dressed and asked any questions, had to sign the form that I had filled out when I got there with my mug shot stapeled to it. I had to sign across my photo and onto the form. SO, no need to have a picture perfect mug shot, cause you scribble all over it!
Then I had to go into a different waiting room, that was so small and boring.
I waited for another half hr, spoke to another couple of people who were waiting, which by the way, they are not all going to America, the medical is for anyone who needs a visa for anywhere in the world, so don't expect that they all know you are moving to the US and getting married or whatever, cause they don't know your case and they don't ask either! Even the DR had no idea about my case.
Also, everyone is really friendly, no-one sits in the waiting rooms not wanting to make eye contact, most people I saw there were all family's!
Anyhow, the last lady came to get me, told me to take my top off and I was to have stage 3 done, the X-Ray!
It was super quick and is just one pic of your upper back. You stand against the machine with your arms on your hips pulled back.
That was that. Spoke to her to make chit chat and she got my x ray straight away and labelled it. I then left the room, went to the desk, paid the total, ouch! Even more cause of the jabs and also the prices have gone up!
I had nothing to take with me, apart from the certificate of jabs, my receipt! and I left!
All done and dusted.
All I was told was that my info would be sent onto the embassy and that everything looked ok. The only reason they would ever contact me again is within 7 days if there was a problem with the blood test. re the blood test.
The whole ordeal took all of about 2 1/2hrs.
Sometimes you see the DR first or the x-ray person, just depends on who is free at the time.
But really nothing to panic about at all.
WHOO, just have to wait for the interview date now.
Oh and they asked what my iterview date was, but I didn't have one, I sent my pack 3 back before my medical but somehow it has taken the post office 2 weeks to get to the embassy!!!!!!! NOT HAPPY, and i sent it ''signed for'' Somehow it turned up at the embassy's PO BOX!!!!???? Although the address never had a PO BOX ON IT
So again no biggy if you don't have an interview date on your medical day.
