My name is Debbie and this is all new to me... What a great site! And to see so many people in the "same boat" as me! My fiance is Resul and he lives in Turkey. Our application has been approved and I received a letter from the NVC stating that our application will be forwarded to the US Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, and we would hear them in a week and Resul will be receiving a packet in the mail. But it is over 2 weeks now and I haven't heard a thing... I do have a lawyer overseeing all this, but I still feel left in the dark! This site has really opened my eyes! I had no idea how much was entailed after getting the visa and marrying! I only thought "get married and get a green card"! Little did I know Well, I guess you can only take one step at a time, right?

By the way, are there any other couples out there that are American and Turkish going through this process? Would love to hear from you! Good luck to all. And stay strong and keep smiling!!!

Hi.. welcome to VJ... I do see you came kinda late in the game, but that's okay.. You'll find a wealth of information here. The consular level is a little different handling than the speediness of the Vermont USCIS center... check out others timelines to find out how long it took for them to get their interview for the consulate in Turkey. You can do this by going through a timeline search under "Immigration Timelines"... good luck!
