Congratulations to all the recent approvals... and good luck.

Pekewl: I see our timelines are 1 day apart. I am tempted to call using the RFE, but logically I know its too soon. Should we just keep waiting? I know the approvals are coming about 120+----what does anybody else think about calling? Ramzis and Alane
ramzis51,
I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but I want to keep it real for everyone. As you all can see by my timeline it took about 142 days for our approval and I do know how tough the wait is...and by the looks of things that, unfortunately seems to be the norm now. Also I want you guys to know that when I spoke to an officer to confirm our approval on 09/24 she told me that it would be 30-45 working days before NVC received our case and not to bother calling...yeah right!!!...now that used to take about a week and now is supposedly up to 6-9 weeks!!!
I will let you guys know how accurate this info is as time passes and I have more news.
Scott
Ramzis51: I do understand your temptation about calling USCIS(I get it too) but at the same time I do agree with Scott in that the wait time has grown and/or is growing at a fairly significant rate for K1/K3. Hence, I am going to give myself a few more weeks before I call them. Since I am a K3 filer, I am personally thinking to call them late Oct to mid-November since thats when my I-130 will have passed 6 months. Having said that, I 'd also like to tell u and this is just from my sheer observation at VJ, K1 seems to get approved about a month or so faster than a similar time K3. Again, this is purely thru my observation and it could be incorrect but looking at other VJers K1 approval timelines, it seems to be the case.. Anyhow, so it may make more sense for you to call them a bit earlier than compared to my timeline.. say early to mid Oct. IMHO, I would say wait at least till the average number of K1 CSC approval days(as of recent) and then it maybe... again
maybe more beneficial for you to call. Look at other K1 filers @ CSC who filed around your dates to see if their NOA2s are starting to trickle.. Thats a good bechmark for you. And if you really are the patient one then I guess wait a bit longer. I think the chances of a USCIS rep looking into your case little more
closely increases when u someone has waited for an extended period of time... or atleast they are more sympathetic and may tell u more than they would to a recent filer... again this is just my opinion thru my past immigration dealings...
Hope this helps. Good Luck to all and congrats to all the recent approvals.
Regards.

wow, FIVE approvals down so far for the 24th, peoples! thinsgs are moving at California!
*does restrained little desk dance*
of course, the shortest NOA1 - NOA2 gap of the five was 133 days, so the averages aren't dropping massively yet, but isn't it nice to know things are still happening there, after the flood *ahem

* of approvals last week! and if we take someone's speculation of the VJ numbers being roughly 10% of the whole, that's FIFTY approvals on the 24th

(yes, I know that's wild speculation, but let's be happy, huh? heaven knows we've been annoyed and sad for long enough

)
I was approved technically yesterday and the number of days between NAO1 and NAO2 was 117 days.

I called USCIS yesterday (25th) and spoke with 2 very nice and helpful people. Nothing had been done to my case (I used the codes to check on an RFE and just stated that I knew others getting RFEs who had applied around the general time that I had and was wondering if that had happened to my case and my profile had just not yet been updated.). I am almost 100% sure that this morning my online case showed 9-25 as the date (due to the phone call) but now it says 9-26 which is today.
Has this happened to anybody else? Just wondering if it was my imagination or wishful thinking that somebody touched my case today, although it is kind of early based on everybody else's timeline.

Hi There, yes everytime we have called we got two touches. One the day we called and one the next day.
Sorry it doesn't mean your assigned to an officer yet but at least you know how it has been for us at least.

It's hard to tell, some touches are generated by calls and others are never touched regardless of the number of times they call. Our timelines are almost the same, we sent in our pkts the same day. I was going to try to call them on Friday saying something similar to you, (I'm still trying to be patient) so I'll be watching to see what happens with you. Good Luck!

I recently emailed my senators and state representatives in regards to LACK OF INFORMATION PROVIDED on delays. NOT in reference to my PERSONAL PETITION. Thought maybe some of you from CSC who are tired of lack of answers...would like to alter the below letters to suit your needs...Together we CAN make a change...remember Adam Walsh is ONE man who made a huge difference in the laws...It takes One voice to start a change...lets be heard...
I recently email my state senators and representatives... this letter...
I belong to a group of people who have filed for K1 visas through the Vermont Service Center. We meet for support and help online. Many of us filed for K1 and K3 petitions as early as April and May and are still waiting for our (NOA2).
There is a growing concern amongst us about the lack of approvals we see coming out of our service center. We understand USCIS has a handling time of 6 months or less allocated to process these petitions.
Our issue is that up until May of this year, Vermont was the fastest processor of visas our country had and it has almost come to a complete stop this month. It's difficult to see the California Center turn out 30 petitions since September 18th, while Vermont has turned out merely a single approval in almost 10 days.
We understand our group is not a complete representation of what VSC processes but we are an accurate representation. We use real facts from real people to determine about when we can expect our approvals... and it's usually accurate. But its so discouraging to see our dates move further and further away.
Many of us call the service center, but the customer service is appalling, as many operators are either unable or unwilling to provide any information. They can't tell us why the delay or what is being done to fix it... or when we may see a pick up in processing. This is information that would take the director 15 minutes to put into memo form and post on the USCIS website.
We pay for this service, making us a CUSTOMER of our own government. There were, in fact, significant fee increases to this process so that these delays would end, but they have not.
We aren't asking for status of our cases. All we want is some transparency from the agency. We want to know why the petitions are so slow in adjudication (been slowing down more and more since June), what is being done about it, and WHEN can we expect a pick up in results.
Therefore I am asking you to make a simple call, or write a simple email to find out this information so we may direct it to those of us who are so discouraged and heavy hearted. We ache to be united with our loved ones; the wait is hard enough, but this lack of information is simply unacceptable.
If the service being provided by USCIS were being provided by any other American business, they would be readily condemned, and we would have the option of going elsewhere for our requirements. However, we must work through USCIS in order to achieve our desired results, and right now, USCIS is not transparent at all to it customers. We deserve an answer.
What we request from our elected officials is information on this very important matter. We ask that USCIS be held accountable, and that they provide information to their own customers, United States Citizens who desire nothing more than to share the American Dream with those they love.
I respectfully request your intervention in this issue and anxiously await a response.
Thank You,
And for MEDIA:
Dear ________________ (call the media find a name to give this),
As you may know, K1 and K3 Visas are the legal way to bring a foreign loved one into the United States. K1 being for fiance's who intend to marry within 90 days of entry of the loved one into the United States. K3 being for spouses that are citizens abroad and married a US Citizen. In most cases the process to bring a loved one home takes months if not years. The hardship of separation stings couples waiting throughout this process. Families are torn apart, babies born without a father/mother close by, wedding plans canceled due to unexplained delays. In addition to the emotional stress and strain of this process, is the financial hardships. Long distance phone bills, internet bills, travel expenses, and other related expenses to a long distance relationship place a financial hardship on an already stressed situation.
I belong to a group of people who have filed for K1 and K3 visas through the Vermont Service Center. We meet for support and help online through a website. Many of us filed for K1 and K3 petitions as early as April and May and are still waiting for our approvals (NOA2).
There is a growing concern amongst us about the lack of approvals we see coming out of our service center. We understand USCIS has a handling time of 6 months or less allocated to process these petitions. And we understand there are many reasons for delays.
Our issue is that up until May of this year, Vermont was the fastest processor of visas our country had and it has almost come to a complete stop this month. Some petitions were approved in less than TWO WEEKS! It's difficult to see the California Center turn out 30 petitions since September 18th, while Vermont has turned out merely a single approval in almost 10 days within our group.

Where ARE we to go for answers? We deserve an answer
Therefore I am asking you to help us make this issue public knowledge, and to use your available means to investigate this story. Human Interest stories generate a great deal of attention from not only the public, but our lawmakers in Washington, DC. We are asking you to help us make a difference in the lives of thousands of petitioners just like me, who are lost in this tangled web of red tape. We ache to be united with our loved ones; the wait is hard enough, but this lack of information is simply unacceptable.
What we request from you, our media representatives is to investigate this very important matter, make the public aware of the pitfalls of immigration. We ask that USCIS be held accountable, and that they provide information to their own customers, United States Citizens who desire nothing more than to share the American Dream with those they love. We want them to answer for these delays and provide us with the service we paid for and need.
I respectfully request your investigation and intervention in this issue and anxiously await a response.
Thank You,
You may alter these to say CSC or any information you want....hope this helps some of you that wonder why its so hard to get simple information...maybe we can start to make a change....

I hope not too many people from Feb-April are still waiting on their NOA2s.
While I am sure that there are some stragglers from those months (particulalry at CSC) I am guessing that some people just don't post here anymore and have failed to update their timelines.
On that note, I wonder if there is a way that inactive timelines can be disabled after a certain amount of time? Hmmm...think I'll post that question in the site discussion forum.
I am sure there are many people who don't post once their case is approved. However, the processing time did go up from 60-80 days a few months back to over 140 now...Sadly, I am one of these cases...

Thank you! Honestly, IDK... but out of sheer morbid curiosity:
1. Was it my "time"?
2. Was it the expedite?
Tuesday night I contacted my "Elected Official". Early Wednesday morning a staffer called and said they would look in to it. So...
3. Was it the Congressional?
...the world may never know!?!
The service center was useless as usual. The rep on the 21st told me to resend the fax two more times, waiting three days between faxing. The rep I spoke with on the 25th said wait until Friday before resending.

9/27 11:38 PM ET. Here are some updated summary K-1 stats to consider until Zoomer gets back to update his list.
Petitions shown on timelines to have been sent to Texas or Nebraska are assumed to have been forwarded to CSC and are now
included in these totals.
At the current 7 day approval rate, it will take approximately 58 days to finish processing April & May. This assumes all March open petitions are dead. My apologies if any March members are still active and waiting for their NOA2.
This table lays out very well in my Internet Explorer. If it looks strange in your browser please let me know.
