I was going to quote and respond accordingly but I think everything turned full circle as I was reading so you might need to ignore most of what I say. If you didn't anyway tongue.gif

Read me the part about the apple concentrate again, pleeeeeeeaaaaaaazzzz? It's my favorite part!

LMAO laughing.gif Ok - that made me laugh - and believe me, right now that I have stopped stressing for debz? Now I am in 100% stress-about-Thursday mode tongue.gif

This relationship is snakebitten, and I have lost points instead of scoring any.

The other night my SO, about 30 seconds into our phone call, told me she refused to talk to me any longer, and that I needed to hang up right away.

I tell Jeremy that I hate him all the time if it is any comfort biggrin.gif I have also locked myself in a room away from him, screamed and shouted at him, run away from him into the mountains (now *that* was a good fight)... so yeah... laughing.gif

Think about loco I donīt wnat to heard anybody yellling to anybody also.

OMG!!! I'd kiss my fiance for that..and if he yelled at them..that would be extra scores!! luv.gif ..how irony is our life blink.gif

I must say I agree here - just trying to get Jeremy to call anyone is a nightmare let alone get him to give them hell over being crap!!!

QUOTE(TBoneTX @ Feb 5 2008, 06:13 PM) *
Well, dig this!

I wrote the fiancee to explain my behavio(u)r, and I mentioned that I was eyeing a visit in February. She just wrote back thusly:

HOLA LOCO:

What about if you come on March you will have time to plan the trip and I will have time to receive you... because next week I was planning to go to Macas to see if I can make some business there and I will be very bussy in Febrary and I planned to make a lot things this month and I will have another test from my University at the end on February so will be easy for me and better to receive you on March and we can celebrate my birthday on 15th........do you like the idea?????..

Cristina

---
I will write back with the standard reply: "Si, Carino!" ("Carino" = "sweetheart"). Or, should I play hard-to-get? smile.gif

Maybe there IS a dog (said the agnostic dyslexic), si man?

Well that sounds to me like she at least is happy to "receive" you wink.gif If she is happy for you to visit on her terms then that sounds like a good start. I'm keeping everything crossed that things work out for you two biggrin.gif

Oh and in other news:

Am having a wine night - am soooooo stressed (well *someone* has to take over from debz while she isn't here) and am *convinced* I am going to get turned away at immigration!!!!

(ok I'm not - I think I'll get through ok but I accept there is a chance I won't which is perhaps more scary... Just doing my debz impression - and she was so convinced and got approved so... whistling.gif)

There's crazy girl-logic in there somewhere tongue.gif

Lots of approvals and TBone's fiancee seems keen on him visiting... ahhh balance is finally being restored to the universe! (or something like that)

Am sat here waiting for Mark to phone me *is excited* as I haven't really talked to him since last week due to him being uber busy at work and then away for the weekend with friends / family stuff (his Dad's birthday).

I'm tired - all this nervous anticipation is wearing me out.

And you should maybe take a lovely chocolate bribe with you just in case Aly!

Gratzies... er, congrats to Amy, si man. Tracy should be sensitive to the idea that her S.O. may be unprepared for a surprise visit, such as specifically with housecleaning! I, personally, as a red-blooded gringo male, am semi-unashamed to admit that I live like a puerco (Spanish for "pig"). I will need an intrepid, thoroughly forewarned Mexicana to make a dent on the status of the environs, si man.

Still funny today: In the earlier '90s, I lacked interest in the idea of cleaning my then-apartment, so I called a small cleaning-company. Two girls and a guy showed up. One girl immediately attacked the kitchen. The other girl went into the bathroom, then immediately came out, jabbering excitedly in Spanish. The guy went in with her. About 45 minutes later, they came out, sweating. The guy glared at me and said, in English, "You should never let it get that bad again!" Ha haaaaaaaaaa! Si, man.

In other news, the fiancee wanted me to call her nightlastly, which was done, and we had a VERY productive conversation. Her entire concern is to ensure that we know each other well enough so that divorce would never be conceivable. She looks forward to a March visit by moi, and she plans to attend and pass the visa interview, whenever that will be, so that she can analyze what life with moi in the U.S. would be like. The only sticky issue is that she wants "more time" to establish her business in Ecuador -- she's lowered that frame to a year -- to [1.] see if she can get someone else to run it for her there and [B.] simply keep it going as promisingly as it is. Thoughts/opinions/advice on how to get her here sooner?

Roll with it at this point. The door is ajar, don't cause any strong breezes to slam it shut. Enter softly, and (here's where the analogy ends) just listen to her. You can put off the interview as far in advance as 4 months (unless your consulate is different, check with them), she has 6 months to use an issued visa, so that's already 10 months of time you can buy. There is absolutely *no* hurry. All of your thoughts right now should be focused on your visit and the relationship.

That's really great news! Okay *thinks* she's got six months anyway, perhaps you could convince her that she could set up a business partner quite soon and then keep in touch from a distance - it's really not hard to manage a business with all the modern technology at your disposal these days. If you get married within a few weeks of her arrival and file for AOS straight away she could receive AP relatively quickly and be able to make trips back as and when necessary to oversee the business.

EDIT: Just saw Mox's response and agree that you should definitely not push the issue... but definitely don't be afraid to make gentle suggestions - just back off immediately if she doesn't like the idea.

ilvas & AAhmad
Lek & Jeff
Natalie & Gerwin
Svetlana & James
Tracy & Steve

CONGRATULATIONS!!! good.gif

TBone, I agree. Just let things work out from here. Don't worry about the extra time at this point. You've got your foot in the door again. Don't worry right now about her desire to delay coming here. Who knows, once she has the visa, she may want to get here immediately.

There are many people who have anxiety attacks (or whatever you want to call them) about leaving their country. Just work with what you've got. If she gets worried again, just reassure her (women need reassurance, even if it's something you've told them a million times before). I'm glad you had a productive conversation and that things are looking up. good.gif

If you get married within a few weeks of her arrival and file for AOS straight away she could receive AP relatively quickly

New question: How LONG does AP typically take to receive? And, I thought I'd read somewhere on VJ that filing for AOS & AP together is more expensive or presents more difficulties than doing it separately; can someone clarify what the truth is, or direct me to the appropriate posts? Gracias, si man.

Well I wouldn't think about getting her there sooner, more try and prolong the visa process wherever you can so she has the maximum amount of time she needs to sort out what she needs to... Don't forget to remind her that she has 90 days when she enters the US before she has to marry you/file for AOS smile.gif

As far as I am aware, AP takes between 1-3 months smile.gif If you file AOS/AP/EAD you just pay the $1050 or whatever it is but if you only send back the AOS forms then you have to pay separately for the AP and EAD tongue.gif

Lessee... 1 to 3 months USCIS time = 5 to 128 years (with 90-year additional period for USCIS to respond to inquiries), divided by usurous fee = a very reasonable annual rate! Si, man!

Oh, by the way: DHL called this morning to say that the package WAS delivered, apparently to the correct address, day unknown. The agent will even write the DHL billing department with the goal of procuring a credit for me. The proceeds of same, if any, shall go into the AOS/AP/EAD slush fund, si man.

OK so I was trying to do the RFE trick last night and called the CSC.........and was told that ONLY the petitioner gets info from them!
Did anybody on here know about that???
My man does not have the patience to call USCIS,so I did and now we don't know any more than before......
We got a touch due to the call, but thats it.
Why can they only give info to the USC???

To receive the full services of the U.S. government, you must be an illegal Mexican drug-dealer who causes U.S. Border Patrol agents to shoot you. You will be canonized, lionized, and otherwise treated like a prince(ss). Otherwise, meaning if you are not a criminal or you are applying legally, you are worthless trash to be ignored -- nay, spurned.

And who says that info is ever given to USCs, either? wacko.gif

Yes, they'll only speak with the petitioner. The reason is that the petition is filed by the sponsor for the benefit of the co-sponsor. In other words, the petition belongs to the sponsor, and as such they will only talk to that person. It sorta makes sense if you think about it, although I know you must be going out of your mind that you can't find anything out. I'm sorry. sad.gif

Get your man off his butt and tell him to make that phone call! Tell him it's important to you. If it's important to you, it should be important to him.

Both times I've called I was touched twice. I think it's very normal.

And don't worry...you didn't do anything to mess anything up. Whatever state your application was in, that remains unchanged. The people who answer the phones have no control over your application. It sounds like you are *VERY* close! smile.gif
