TBone, that is so sweet. I think mox pretty much had it nailed about people reacting in different ways to stress [...] 'nothing will stop us from being together - we will find a way'. I wish I could be like him. Anyway, I do think that what you said above makes sense and will be received well by your fiancee. Good luck with that smile.gif

Why, gracias, TracyBone, si man. Repeating Jesse's quote, ideally out loud and certainly with conviction, several times a day, could be the antidote to the unfocused distraction that you, I, Mox, and we all face to varying degrees.

Definition for the Day:
Varying Degree, n. - Assuming that one has a PhD when it is really an MS. And that's no B.S. Si, man.

There there - it's not all bad - you have a beautiful woman who loves you and this will all be worth it in the end smile.gif Work is sent out to annoy us - when Nadya gets there you can concentrate on her, your life together and mayeb hunting down that elusive dream job wink.gif

It's a time for new beginnings and building dreams so don't lose sight just yet - there is so much to look forward to and so much to be excited about biggrin.gif

I was p1$$ed off in work today as well - I would go into details but it would probably be long and boring laughing.gif

Thanks hon! blush.gif

Today is just a down-biorhythm day for me today. All factors previously mentioned plus really crappy weather for the last week have conspired to make mox a sad panda. And you're right, I do have a beautiful woman who is patiently waiting for her opportunity to spend 5 minutes in front of a faceless bureaucrat so she can get a sticker in her passport that says she can walk to the other side of an airport and into my arms. That thought keeps me sane. Ish.

With regards to the service center who shall not be named, I really am not even asking or expecting mine to be approved with any immediacy. I'm still well within my designated waiting period, no need for me to spaz. But I do wish we could either see the service center who shall not be named processing a reasonable number of applications, or get an explanation as to why it's not happening and when we can expect it to pick up again.

Okay, operation "whiny mox" is complete. Re-commencing normal operations at this time. dry.gif

Haha - we all have down days - there is no reason you shouldn't be entitled to yours!! Besides - it is dire - like I have said before - I have my NOA2 and *I* get depressed looking at the sorry state of affairs - it makes me really angry and I wish there was something we could do about it... There must be... can we rally some kind of media support or get some kind of coverage? Maybe use VJ stats as a kinda proportional representation?

I'm useless at that kinda stuff but I am sure someone can come up with some good ideas - I just kinda want to draw attention to the comparison between VSC and CSC and shame the damn government into doing something about it!!

To Mox: Spaz, man; thou art thusly permitted. Si, man. And the weather in southeastern Tejas (Mexican spelling, soon to be official again, si man) sucks worsely, si man, and I have an out-of-town trip tomorrow that will keep me off VJ till late Sunday at earliest, si man.

I would be more inspired to take some kind of action if I thought it stood even a tiny chance of affecting change. But (IMHO) any kind of change is at least a year out. Emilio Gonzalez, the Director of USCIS, has already made it very clear (especially in the last congressional hearings on naturalization) that he does not believe there is a resource shortage at USCIS, and places most of the blame for slow (naturalization) processing times squarely on the shoulders of the FBI. Congress asked him point blank how much money he needed them to throw at his department in order to speed up all filings, and he refused their help.

Gonzalez was appointed by President Bush, and nothing short of the President firing him (not happening) or Congressional impeachment (definitely not happening) will remove him from his job. We have a full year to wait until we have a new President who will then appoint a new Director. That Director may be better or worse. As a bleeding heart liberal I'd like to think that President Obama will make a good choice, but who knows? wink.gif

How?! What on earth have they got to complain about?! Ok I know and understand the difficulties and torment that arise from being without your loved one but here I am feeling sorry for fellow CSC-ers and thinking I got pretty damn lucky!! If I were with VSC, October filer, I would be seriously be feeling guilty/sorry for those still waiting for so long and still would wonder why there is such a difference in the service centres...

I don't even know what advice to give people anymore - I don't know if a K3 is quicker or slower than K1 through CSC as it has come to a standstill!!!

There's quite a number of VSC filers from June and July who are not being approved whilst Sept and Oct filers sing and dance about their good fortune (spose I would too - it's hardly their fault)
From my perspective, barely anyone is being approved at CSC which makes it slightly more tolerable seeing no action on my petition. I can't imagine how they must be feeling.

Advice I would give - VJ doesn't like it, but it doesn't involve any type of K visa.
mox
Both centers have got problems.

Here's some interesting stats:

Zero of the last 50 VSC filers have been pre-July filers.
9 of the last 50 VSC filers have been July filers.
47 of the last 50 CSC filers have been July or previous filers.

I'm sure this only scratches the surface.

Jeraly
But how many are remaining for each? Because it is all well and good if VSC are processing only 9 July-ers or before but then if they only have 10 left it kinda makes sense...

Anyway - *I* don't make sense right now so I think I need sleepies smile.gif

Night all! biggrin.gif

Yeah I think that it is good we have a strong bond in the CSC/July threads as you know you aren't alone even if things seem dire - it's when you're the only one left behind that things begin to sting...

Ok - am defo off to bed now tongue.gif

Hmmm...I might look that up. I guess my point was that the loads should be at least somewhat in the ballpark of similar. They're not even close.

I like stats and I certainly feel better being at CSC looking at this:

VSC stats
11/73 filers in June without NOA2
27/128 filers in July without NOA2
10/38 filers in August without NOA2
19/58 filers in September without NOA2
55/75 filers in October without NOA2

CSC stats
25/137 filers in June without NOA2
54/196 filers in July without NOA2
44/47 filers in August without NOA2
50/50 filers in September without NOA2
63/63 filers in October without NOA2

Stats are flawed because I didn't include TSC and NSC but you get the picture.

Of course some may not have updated.
mox
So here's a few stats I thought were interesting. These are the numbers (and percentages) of filers who are still waiting on NOA2.

CODE
Filers still waiting

      CSC               VSC

May   20/147 (13.6%)    11/67  (16.4%)
Jun   25/137 (18.2%)    11/73  (15.1%)
Jul   55/196 (28.1%)    27/128 (21.1%)
Aug   44/47  (93.6%)    10/38  (26.3%)
Sep   50/50  (100%)     19/58  (32.8%)
Oct   63/63  (100%)     55/75  (73.3%)
Nov   35/35  (100%)     40/40  (100%)
Dec   39/39  (100%)     36/37  (97.3%)
Jan   18/19  (94.7%)    34/35  (97.1%)

(lower percentage is better)

I need to run off and do actual work in a minute, but the big thing that stuck out to me is that VSC are actually doing *better* on July filers than CSC, which sort of obsoletes my previous post on the subject. Where there is a precipitous dropoff in any kind of logic whatsoever is in August and going forward.

No hurry or even a need for an answer, but I wonder how many of these applications were RFE'd vs. simply not dealt with yet?
mox
Oh and also take figures for older months with a grain of salt. Some filers disappear into marital bliss (or just plain disappear) without updating their timelines, so those percentages will never drop to zero. (Some months ago somebody posted evidence that roughly 10% of filers don't update their timelines after NOA2. Sounds about right to me.)
bakofoil
4 unresolved RFE's at VSC (1 July, 1 August, 2 Oct filers)
8 unresolved RFE's at CSC (2 June, 4 July, 1 Sept, 1 Oct filers)

These are for the time period 31/5 - 1/11

Agreed that some people just fail to update for one reason or another. 10% sounds about right looking at May stats
Igor&Elina
Congratulations to Wenju & Nathan!!! kicking.gif They just updated their timeline with a new NOA2 from CSC:

I HAVE my NOA2, and it still give me tight-jaw syndrome when I see these infernal things processed out of order. This comment in no way is meant to detract from the lucky couple's joy.

I'm cuttin' out for the weekend. Hopefully, when I on-log again Sunday night or on Monday, I'll hear that someone got some good Saturday news. Let's hope that my news isn't bad as of any phone calls or e-mails by Sunday, si man... Good luck to all.

Haha - I aws going to request percentages but moxie was one step ahead... of course now I feel a bit smug about the fact I was right about VSC doing better... of course that isn't a good thing so it is a tainted smugness laughing.gif

Great news about the August approval! Bear in mind I know there are people on the July spreadsheet who have dropped off the radar a bit too - I have scrutinised recent activity and timeline updates and adjusted the spreadsheet but there isn't much I can do for the VJ timelines - I *have* sent pms to people who need to update but... tongue.gif

I just read that PDF TBone and read "birth certificate" as "death certificate"... I *actually* wondered how the hell you were meant to include that for a full second before re-reading it correctly laughing.gif

Moxie - I will prolly find the I-134 download and get it filled out - I am pretty certain they ask for it in the UK but I just don't understand why it wouldn't have been mentioned yet!

Jeraly, don't they mention it in Packet 3? I thought I saw it in the scans.
Jeraly
Probably!! I only read through it once and kinda scanned over the weird form numbers as they confuse me!! I thought I-134 would jump out at me though as it is so talked about! I prolly just overlooked it biggrin.gif

On another note, myself and weedebz (remotely via text message) have the pleasure to announce:

The Friday Night Hijack!!!

*insert big booming announcement voice here*

At approximately 7pm GMT (2pm EST) we will be hijacking a thread (quite possibly this one, the July Filers thread or the July Filers' new home in the "Moving Here..." forum) and having a good ol' red wine and natter session biggrin.gif A fair few of us are feeling miserable, fed up and dejected and those that aren't might have their excitement and joy rub off on the rest of us!!

Check any of the above threads to see where it'll be - I'm opting for the new July Filer home as it is smaller biggrin.gif We can always move over to the chat room on my website later - MUCH easier to have a good old gossip smile.gif

Be there or be...

Dang, I'll try to show up for at least part of it. I'm spending most of the day with auditors so I won't be around much unless something shiny distracts them. Always a possibility.

Congrats to everybody that got approved over the passed few days! Glad to finally see August Filers being approved (update your timelines asap please,it helps all!) !!!!!!
Got one question though,CSC has updated their Processing Times finally.Says July 19th,which is a great thing cause that means the backlog is damn near OVER WITH,but my question is do they g by received date or by Noa1 date?
Anyone?
Eerybdy have a great weekend and lets hope for lots of NOA 2's next week.
Oh and STP,when are you gonna do the new list?? You know I'm always the first one to ask.....but I can't help it it simply makes me and my SO feel so much better to see how we are moving up.
Thanks

The service centers go by received date.

And Igor of "Egor and Elina" fame (Thursday nights on NBC!) put together an online version of StP's list, which you can see here. Oooh, and it looks like he's been working on it and prettifying it! Nice job Igor!

(and zomg now that USCIS have updated processing times, I'm a double-digit midget at position 94 on the list. Woot! Go me! smile.gif )

Fiance Visa Joke #123,456

As you may know I bought Mercedes a little Daschund puppy for Christmas and we are bringing him to the USA when we move, he's called Vincent. We have to get him a pet passport (radies shots, etc) and I was wondering out loud, as we are getting a K-1 visa, does he need a K-9 visa? Geddit, K-9, canine??? Ok, so maybe this waiting has touched me ....
