Well folks, it's my 40th birthday today. I'd hoped (not too hard, though) for a nice birthday present, but I guess it didn't come.

I do have a bit of dark humor, though. As I was standing in the express line at the grocery store, I noticed a guy who chose the regular line next to me, which just a few minutes prior had a large order being checked out. That man was on his way out the door, and I still had one person in front of me. You can guess my thoughts. "That is the Vermont line, and this is the California line, I guess." I kept my thoughts to myself, however, as I'm sure that analogy would be lost on anyone in that store. Thought y'all might find that humorous, though.

In other bad news today, I was in negotiations for a house today, a house that my love has only seen pictures of, but I still consult her for advice on these matters. Negotiations on price bogged down however, and I walked away from the table. I hope I made the right decision.

Plus, I froze my butt off today at work. It's snowing. OK, I'm really pushing the relevance to this thread now. I hope y'all had a nice day. I'll stop now. Life is good.

OK now I just had to tell my better half about CSC........He never comes on here to check,so he didn't know yet just HOW slow CSC is at the moment........
He's VERY upset......
I absolutley can't understand why in the world they're not doing their job.....
Ya right let's Increase the Fee's ,process the I 129F's at only two Service Centers instead of 5 and make ppl wait to be reunited with their loved ones........
Not hard to tell how fed up I am huh?
And I'm even one of the lucky ones cause my embassy in Frankfurt is really fast and at least we wont have to wait several months for an Interview Date, but hey what the heck?????
We thought we could get married May 17th...........guess that aint gonna happen.....
Does CSC care about their Customers?! Nope, they just want our money!!!!! I can't say why it's called California SERVICE Center as in my opinion THERE IS no SERVICE!

Well then...an average of 0.67 CSC approvals per day for the week so far. That's gotta be some kind of record.

So here's my Top 10 list of guesses as to why the CSC have stopped approving our petitions [...]
1. They hate gorillas. It's all my fault.

Half-right, Mox -- it's because you never provided the rooster months ago, as requested. Bunnies & gorillas, si man, but you out-chickened regarding the correct critter.

Well then...an average of 0.67 CSC approvals per day for the week so far. That's gotta be some kind of record.

So here's my Top 10 list of guesses as to why the CSC have stopped approving our petitions:

10. In a move of solidarity with the Hollywood writers, CSC adjudicators refusing to write "Approved."
9. The CSC New Years Eve Party was a killer. Seriously, they're all dead.
8. It's "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" marathon days at CSC. 7 seasons of kick-azz slayage in glorious surround sound.
7. They're all refusing to work until President Bush replaces Hannah Montana in his Top 8 on Myspace with CSC.
6. Entire CSC staff caught in Groundhog Day time warp, unable to escape until they discover the true meaning of "to blave."
5. CSC playing hide and seek with manager who must count to 10 million.
4. Entire CSC evacuated. Somebody reported not seeing a Ninja in the break room, and everyone knows that Ninja's are invisible, so it must be true.
3. They're holding out for more Hershey's Kisses.
2. It's ALWAYS Beer-30 somewhere in the world.

And the number one reason CSC have stopped approving our petitions:

1. They hate gorillas. It's all my fault.

Agreed. And as the poster implied, keep your sense of humor. If you give in to the bitterness, it will consume you.

The grocery store story was funny, and I have to admit I've had similar analogies enter my mind. Stuck in traffic and seeing that other lane that's going faster...so I jump in that lane and it immediately comes to a stop while the previous lane starts moving again. laughing.gif

Oh we are here - just way too p1ssed off to write - we slipped back to April 1st estimate today - ironic date or what!!! So when we applied it said February 28th - now it's a full 33 days later and that summer move to the USA looks more distant every day!!!

I know what you mean. I slipped to March 13 from my date of February 10 when I first filed. My SO has been operating under the assumption that our interview will be in the Spring. I mean, we all know that it's not good to make plans around this process, but I wouldn't have thought a 4 month window would be too much of a stretch. But I see that Moscow are starting to schedule interviews for March, so...yeah...unless something happens soon it doesn't look like a Spring reunion for us.

If this happened here in the UK it would be headline news and documentary producers all over it for sheer government incompetence. It's hard to comprehend how any government agency anywhere in the world - let alone the most powerful country on earth - can double the fee for a process and subsequently have that process take twice as long as normal. It boggles the mind!!!

And incidentally, if any of you are thinking over popping over to see your SO from the EU then do so while you still can. Have a look at this ... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7190788.stm.

Yours has got to be right around the corner. The one good thing I can say about CSC right now is that unlike VSC the (very few) approvals that are coming through seem to be in order. So you're close. VERY close!
snowfrostedlashes
As many others have said, it's the uncertainty and lack of helpful communication that makes this process so difficult.

A bit more information from USCIS would certainly help relieve the tension for everyone who has gone past the six month mark.

No, but there was one slightly embarrased Ninja when he very unstealthily tripped over a mop bucket just as he was getting into deadly striking position. Fortunately the CSC staff were too engrossed in "Buffy" to notice.
Jeraly
Haha - I find I am sat at work refreshing in the morning then when I get real busy in the afternoon everyone appears... starting to think I smell or something...

@Mox - will chase Jeremy up to make a nice page for me to put the top 10 on then I'll pretty it up or something... actually I don't even need to do that... I'll upload it as an image file then link directly to that - result! You can link to it then from your siggie or something if you want - I am running out of space in mine - have too many links and dunno which ones to cut!!

@Eli - remember that your projected date will jump a TON if someone who has been waiting ages has been approved - if they just approved someone who has been waiting since May then the average number of days is going to skew completely smile.gif It's not an exact science - weedebz got approved 3 weeks before her projected date... mine was pretty spot on though sad.gif

In some good news - I got approved for an Amez card today - not sure when my credit limit is yet on it as I only got the pin number but figured they wouldn't send me that without a card to follow so... wink.gif

You guys probably don't get David Letterman over there do you? He's like the Jonathan Woss Ross of American late night TV. Anyway, he's known for his Top 10 lists. Letterman style would probably be cool. But Oriental Gorilla style would be pretty sweet too. (Sounds like the beginnings of a good joke. What do you feed an oriental gorilla? Anything he wants!)

BTW I'm a vodka guy. I like vodka martinis and *love* screwdrivers. Lately a friend of mine has turned me on to mimosa's though. It's kind of a girly drink but tasty. (mimosa = champagne and orange juice.)
