Hey PPL where is the new CSC list?! I thougt it was gonna come out Friday?
QUOTE(mox @ Jan 12 2008, 05:25 PM)

I think StP posts those on Monday, doesn't she?
if there's ever been any pattern to the lists, it's accidental... I just post them when there's been a bit of movement, and this week there hasn't been much so I was going to leave it for a little longer

however, if people are desperate for one, I may get on with it shortly

Honestly I wouldn't bother. There weren't enough approvals to make any kind of educated guesses from the data anyway.
(CSC have me a little cranky...can you tell?

Well yeah STP I would be one desperate for a new list........as there is always ppl updating their timelines and stuff and it always gives me SME hope to see us moving up the list.Right about now I'm actually pretty down and depressed, missing my man like crazy and the way it looks we wont even be able to get married the day we wanted to......(May 17th).
So yeah please if you don't mind a new list would be great.
I'm always looking forward to it,it sort of myakes my week so to say and keeps me hanging in there without going insane........

Ya MOX I know where you're coming from.VSC is handing late September Filers their NOA 2's and CSC is slower than a snail going backwards.....
I'm so upset right now as we were planning for a May 17th Wedding, which would be excatly 3 years after we met...........My poor man is sitting in our huge house all by himself and we're slowly starting to worry about the Airline Heat Embargo for Pets which starts May 15th.......and lasts until Sep 30.
I might have to have my pets fly without me so we can get around the Embargo......
Just very depressing right now...........
I hope so much that we get NOA 2 next month (we are at day 92 now) but it's slowly starting to look bad.

From that article:
"During the 2007 fiscal year, 7.7 million applications for citizenship, legal residency and other immigration benefits were filed.
About 2.5 million of those were filed in July and August."
Well... if anyone can be bothered with percentages and maths stuff - they could see how accurate the VJ stats are to this

Heat Embargo..? Why do I not know about this?! What is it and does it mean I won't be able to take my cat with me at the end of June?!?!?! *panic*

I don't think that 2.5 million figure will be much use, because it doesn't split the petitions into type; that would be ALL the petitions they received
if I'm wrong, someone please tell me

as requested, new lists... it ain't good news, I'm afraid, but then I don't think we were expecting any

Thanks for the new list STP !! I knew it wouldn't be much movement but Gee I had no clue it was THIS slow..........
As far as the Heat Embargo for Pets goes-
yes there is a Heat Embargo for Pets from May 15th until Sep 30 each year.
But as far as I know almost every Airline lets you take Cats into the Cabin so maybe you should ask.Other than that the Heat Embargo goes for ALL animals flying to a destination were the temperature is above 84 degrees.
Alos, even if you fly from a cool place like UK via Amsterdam to let's say Arizona in can not have any more than 84 degrees ANYWHERE you land and have a lay over.
There is one solution though and that would be Pet Air.They are specialized in flying Pets all over the world, but very expensive AND your Pet travels without you.
Now of course I can't take my Lab into the cabin (our Lab,sorry James!) but at least I know she's ok and on all flights with me.
We flew her to Germany with us on United Airlines and Lufthansa and they were great.
Oh yeah,I think Liufthansa does not have the Pet Embargo, but I'm not sure.We flew in October so it didn't matter to us.But a friend of mine who flew in August was NOT allowed to take a cat,not even in the cabin.
Just check with the Airline.

Ok... now I am freaking out... I never even knew about this... I don't see why it matters really if she is going to be living there anyway... and in SoCal I can't see the temp being less than 84 degrees...

The other thing to note is that if you are flying United, they only allow 2 pets inside the cabin per flight. So it's important to book your pet at the time you book your tickets. United charges $85 domestically (you pay when you check in) for this service, and probably more for international. Other airlines very likely have a similar policy, so get those pets booked early.
Also, if you have a short-nosed breed like my little pug, some airlines have a longer embargo time.

Oh I'm not worried about that - I'll fly with whoever will take us on the same flight and let her in the cabin with me... But now it's my turn to go all freaky deaky and cry and bawl... Jeremy has said that if necessary we can pick the coldest place to fly into then drive back to SoCal... would be awful having her in the basket for so long but...
I just don't understand all this - what is the best thing to do?

Thanks for the links

I found airpets before and got a quote - is more expensive to fly Daisy than it is for me to get there by about $400... I just don't have that sort of money... *sigh* It's looking like I might be flying out in December at this rate...

Unfortunatley it does apply to when you take her into the cabin ,at least on some Airlines.BUT-I just looked up Lufthansa and you may consider flying with them as they DO NOT have an Embargo it seems.Nothing of that sort is mentioned and their pricing is very good too.Just call several Airlines and check it out! Or go to their websites.

Seems it doesn't apply with delta either if she is in the cabin... booking my flight in the summer is going to be a nightmare..

The Chinese website is running pretty much true to VJ. The ratio is about the same...There were eight VSC'ers, August /September NOA1 dates and two CSC'ers with July NOA1 dates, posting approvals this last week that we could see.

Interesting to know that. On the Vietnamese language website, there seems to be an disproportional number of VSC filers, who are moving somewhat faster than CSC filers. This is causing a slight amount of tension lately, but we are working it out. I feel we are so lucky, we can understand each other very well (both linguistically and personally), and don't get into a full-blown argument over this, as other couples have had the misfortune of doing.
I can't give you such specific numbers, unfortunately. Hang in there, everybody! Like the song says, "Our day will come!"

Oh, I'm glad to know this, thanks for sharing. Definitely puts to rest any thoughts that VJ just has a bad sampling of filers. Something's definitely going on at CSC.

Thanks for the new list STP - but sheesh <lol> at 5 CSC approvals for the week, and me sitting at number 195 - that would be like 39 bloomin' weeks from now for an NOA2... I really hope that they pick up the pace (back to the 20-30+) they were doing pre-Xmas, or maybe they have and just a stack of peeps haven't updated their timeline (the ones that think us number crunchers are nuts LOL)...
I STILL have my thoughts and fingers crossed that everyone who filed up to the end of September will see their NOA-2 by mid February....
have a GREAT day folks

you're all welcome

and I am SURE that CSC will not continue at this pace... don't get discouraged, people; it's demoralising, I know, but so far it's a TEMPORARY slow-down, and I think we have every reason to be confident that it will not continue for long

I hope so too!! I need good news and distractions at the moment!! My chilled out nature while waiting for NOA2 has diminished and now I am sat feeling ansy all the time about the wedding, about the move - I feel like I am going crazy and I just don't know how to make myself feel better - I know I am making the right choice and I awnt to move to the US but I just feel really lame and stupid!! I think maybe post-Feb once the wedding is out of the way and we can start looking at building our life together (getting a place to live etc!!) then I might settle down a bit as I will have somethign to focus on but in the meantime... I don't want to feel this nervous for the next five-six months!!!

They were eaten by pancake-bunnies.
John (just above), when you call and talk with one of the ImmigOffs, be sure to have them send a polite-yet-insistent e-mail to the officer up whose butt your file has been... uh, on whose desk your file purportedly is. The rectums at CSC should be not for files, but for wildcats -- hungry, and never declawed. Si, man.

Not a California thing, just an immigration thing.
I think you'll find Californian's pretty laid back, especially the more you get out of LA. Come on up north some, we're all downright chill.

No offense to those from Sacramento, but I've never been to enamored of the city. Too dry, too hot, and too far from the ocean. I'm originally from Denver, so if I'm going to be in Cali, dangit I want ocean!

I was born and raised in the Bay Area (San Jose), then moved to Stockton a couple years ago to buy a house. My mom still lives in San Jose, but I hate going back there because the traffic sucks. It might be hotter here in the summer, but that's what the AC is for. After being in the Sacramento Valley, I like it. Even if I could afford to go back to the Bay Area, I doubt I would because I hate to waste my day sitting in traffic.

Good point about the traffic. I don't live in San Jose proper but I absolutely dread the times I have to drive through the valley. I mean jeez, the 101 has like 35 lanes in each direction and it still slows to a stop most of the day. And don't get me started on housing prices...

Exactly the reason I left Mox. I wish I could get my mom to sell her house, retire and move closer to me since I will be taking of her when she is older. So, are you in Santa Cruz Mox?
Off the subject, I hope we begin to see some CSC approvals this week. I am very strong willed, but I hate this waiting because I have no control over the outcome. My girl is getting uptight about the wait, but I tell her to look on here and she will see that it's not just us. No one in the CSC system is getting approved. I was just looking at the immi timelines and it apprears that the bulk of the July filers are done and that the people that aren't just haven't updated on VJ. I still have 17 days left on my Jan 31 guess from your CSC sweepstakes. I'm still keeping the faith, just very frustrating when I see VSC filers getting approved. Hope we see some actiion this week and bring up the moral around here.

I'm fortunate in that respect. My SO has no interest in the process. She expects her interview "in Spring," and that's good enough for her. Now, if Spring comes and goes with no interview...that could be a problem.

But I sure wish I could have more of a "hakuna matata" attitude like that.

Well all the more reason for a road trip.
Did you get to see the sea lions at the end of the pier? The coolest thing about living in Monterey (to me) is that I can hear the sea lions barking when I go to sleep, and again when I wake up.
