Interestingly, when I called the CSC yesterday and spoke with the Immigration Officerette, and I complained because my Case Status Online should have reflected touches from each of my calls, the Officerette said that calls do NOT necessarily or automatically result in a touch, even when someone calls to inquire about an RFE.

This would explain why MY file hasn't shown any touches, but how does this correlate with everyone else calling and being touched as a seeming result of the call?

Well every time I called I got two touches sometimes three. I think they make it up as they go. Bummer it is taking so long though. Good luck tbone

We had no touches...not even prior to the approval. Only got touched after we placed a service request cuz never received NOA1. No need to worry smile.gif good.gif

yeah, I'm feeling a little down about it all, actually... just the not knowing; I have two part-time jobs, and am STILL unable to give either of them any indication of when I'll be leaving... they're being so nice about it, but I feel stressed that I can't be more helpful in return
and so many people now asking me if we've had any news, and when I'm going back to Aus, and what our plans are, and always saying 'no' and 'nothing' and 'we don't know yet' is just making me weary sad.gif

I've got a meeting with my manager on monday to discuss my possible leaving dates. Gonna say mid march as wasn't planning any earlier as want to be here for my mammys 60th on 12th march. At least I'm giving her plenty of notice. Only thing my work was concerned about was that I was just going to pack up and leave. My job needs training so the idea is I'm going to train my replacement, apparently I'm going to assist in interviews too. That will be wierd interviewing someone to replace me.

jeraly I reckon, in fact I'll bet a bottle of 25yr old Bruichladdich (Ģ95) on it, you will get your approval before the end of November.

I reckon most July filers will have approvals before end of first week in December.


I forsee *looks into crystal ball and raises eyebrow mystically* NO RFE'S

Hey Jeraly, I just noticed that you're getting married pretty soon. Congratulations! Just curious if you're going to England to get married? I cant imagine you would scrap this K1 visa and start over with a K3. Was just curious. couldn't figure it out.

Haha - it is something I have discussed at length all over - surprised you haven't heard my tale of woe already!!!

Ok - as short as I can make it:

We booked the wedding when the waiting time from NOA1 to NOA2 was 90 days. Then because the post screwed up me sending my evidence over (it got returned to me two weeks after I sent it for no apparent reason) it tacked an extra six weeks onto our filing date meaning we filed at the end of July.

Wedding paid for, family's plane tickets bought etc - nightmare so there is no way of changing things really. We've set our heart on our wedding and decided that our wedding date was a choice between Feb 2008 or Feb 2009 so if push comes to shove and we have to go down the K-3 route then that is the way it has to be... just really hoping it won't come to that.

Our preferred method of things is if we don't get the visa in time, to have a non-legal wedding in Feb (no license, don't sign register etc) then have our legal wedding when we get the visa proper smile.gif

We were naive when we set out and shouldn't really have booked the wedding but these things happen and we just have to make the best of it - the important thing is we will be together eventually - and we've waited six years so a little longer won't kill us - especially if we have the rest of our lives together smile.gif

What doesn't kill us can only make us stronger, right?

hahaha "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger" that was my last words before I did my first solo skydive!!!

and I wasn't as nervous and stressed out doing that as I am going through all this malarky. So I'd rather fling myself out of a plane at 10,000ft than file through USCIS!!!

I've done 21 jumps now....5 static line at 2,000ft (solo jump but chute pulls automatically as attached to plane), 5 tandem skydives between 5,000 and 10,00ft and 11 solo skydives between 8,000 and 10,000 ft. It's a great thrill. My first jump was for charity and I was scared sh1tless. Then once I landed I was perm-a-grin for a week and I was hooked. Between that jump and walking the 96mile "west highland way" (glasgow to fort william) in 6 days whilst carrying all our own tent and camping survival kit (no comfy camp sites) me and 5 friends have raised just over Ģ18,000 for a cancer care charity after a close friend died from cancer aged 19 6 years ago.

Debz - I love the idea of falling through the air (with parachute open!!) but I just couldn't bring myself to jump out of the plane... I think hot air ballooning is more my style wink.gif Although I haven't done that either... unsure.gif
