I called CSC this afternoon and spoke to a nice lady whose 1st language definitely isn't English. But she did let me know that my case was assigned to an officer 10/22, so I should be hearing something any day now! I'm so excited! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NO RFE!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

sad.gif I just called CSC to find out if my paperwork has been sent to NVC yet (I called NVC earlier today and it had not been rec'd). I told her that although I'd received my NOA2 on 10/22..dated 10/18, the website had not been updated. She looked up my case number and said that I had in fact been approved, but my paperwork can remain in the mail staging area for up to 60 days and that NVC knows they're behind and will extend the dates if necessary. She said they wait and send out large crates at a time and that when the next crate was full, it'd probably be sent out. She was very pleasant, but said that she has no other information that she could give me, but I could call to check on it any time.

Looks like another long frustrating wait. sad.gif

From one long wait to another, the true story of people waiting for USCIS blink.gif
Ben loves Yuki
We called CSC today, we told them almost everyone else in our time frame already got approved. And then they said it is approved in the order it is recieved and there are people dedicated to different areas of the u.s., so it depends where the other filers live and when they sent it. dry.gif Also they said since it says it was touched it is at an officer's desk. Well, I hope they won't be keeping my case for long.. wacko.gif I really want my NOA2 PLEASE!! sad.gif

Hi everyone. I just signed up, but I've been a lurker for the past 5 months or so. I check the USCIS website daily, and nothing has changed in my account since 6/22. So I decided to give the old RFE trick a try today. To my surprise the guy told me that I was approved today! It is kind of strange that the status has not been changed on the USCIS website yet. The customer service guy told me that it was because I was just approved today and I should receive my notice in 1-2 weeks. At least they're moving along with June filers. I wish you all luck!

A couple of thoughts/observations......first, there is nothing 'iron-clad' with respect to the touches. Some get one or more touches just before being approved; some right after being approved; and some get none, right up to the date of approval action. While it sure is exciting to see a touch; there is much to their internal processing system and procedure that maybe we will never understand.

I, too, have not had a single touch since it went to the CSC and I am now at day 138 since NOA-1 issued. I have resisted calling, because I am not convinced it is productive unless most filers, in your respective time frame, have already been approved previous to you.

Next, I figured today would be a slow 'news-day' due to the quasi-holiday and the preverbal office luncheons and parties and employees leaving work early to go to more parties and/or to prep the kids for tonight's festivities. Hey, people are people, be it in government or the private sector.

Last, IMO, for those of you worrying about an RFE......don't worry a lot!!! Very few RFE's are issued this late in the process. Most come soon after the initial I-130 and/or I-129F is sent in and that important first content review and document scan takes place at the front door, so to speak. It is not common to see the RFE this close to NOA-2.......if there is to be a surprise, you will most likely get it during the interview at the Consulate or Embassy. This is also why the "approval" we all speak to at this stage, is really in name only. Remember, everyone of that 10 to 20 % who get blue or white slipped at the interview, were each approved at the NOA-2 stage. And yes, at least we are seeing some very notable movement with the June filers !!! The next week to ten days will bring many more June NOA-2's.

Other item: An immigration attorney to whom I'd spoken recommended that I send in the I-134 (or whatever the "financial support" package is) along with the original I-129F. I did this. Two questions: [1] Could this be slowing down the processing of my I-129F? [2] Will I have to resubmit a fresh I-134 package during the next step of the paperwork process, or can I simply send a notarized affidavit to say that the finances are materially the same as they were in May?

I don't know for sure so sorry in advance for answering. I also sent mine with the I-134 and mine seems to be taking longer too. I have gotten touched Every day since Friday and suspect it is the affidavit of support slowing things down. My roommate that submitted his at the same time I did was approved on the 18th and the only difference between our petitions is I sent mine with the I-134 and he didn't. After I had already sent my packet I read on VJ that it isn't recommended to submit it this early in the process.

Thanks, Tim, and thanks to the others who have replied. If it's true that the I-134 slows things down, there are two lessons: [1] Avoid sending unnecessary material that will confuse morons, and [2] 99% of all attorneys give the rest of them a bad name!

I'm not sure this is strictly true since post July USCIS has been delayed greatly on input and issuing NOA1's. The initial checks USCIS do are on payment, signatures, presence of applicable forms. I doubt they recognise any errors beyond that. I do hope you're right but I would have thought that since the apps gather dust for a couple of months or so between issuing the case number and reaching someone's desk for processing that detailed checks could generate RFE's once the applications are due for final processing. However, I would agree with you that most petitions achieve approval at this stage in the game. Plus, if the pressure to speed up is on, I reckon they could be being less strict about certain aspects people sometimes receive RFE's over.

Anyway, good luck everyone. Let's hope we all get approved without RFE.

I just read through the last 10 pages of this thread - whew! Anyway, I am hoping for an approval this week, but trying not to worry too much since I will be going to see Andrew in only a few days! smile.gif

But I do have a question: I read somewhere to get four notarized copies of the I-134 for the interview - are four needed? I can't find where I read it, so I'm not sure how I'm coming up with that number.

In the guides they recommend three copies; one for yourself, one for your fiance and one for the embassy to keep. Most places it costs the same to notarize 1 or more of the same form, but the extras are in case one get lost.

Alane, I'm with you today, I feel like I'm going insane. My daughter spent the night in the emergency room, I've had maybe 4 hours of sleep. And on top of that nothing from CSC, I'm going insane now, I tried to stay postive but now I'm failing misserably. I'm crying with you, I think is the time when we need fellow Vj'ers to come and help us up. crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

Alane & Ramzis--I am putting in a special prayer, directly to the Holy Mother of God Herself, to intercede on your behalf. We are pulling for you...
