thanks Rodgiegirl---I feel my tears just below the surface. It's all I can do to work today without crying. I used to read filers before us and how stressed they were and I thought "they just need to be cool". But now I understand. I just checked the mail and nothing... sad.gif This wateing is horrible...... Why does our country take so long with this. . I think goverment officals really don't care about anyone but themselvs.. This is so frustrating. I had too much faith that I would get it in the mail like others did. It's just not fair that my future is on hold due to "red tape". I just want to cry..

Gratz to the approvees smile.gif

Am beginning to despair but know there is nothing to do but wait... Just wish I could do something - even if it didn't speed up the process at least I would feel like I was getting somewhere...

exactly how I feel! USCIS seem to be the kind of company where you need to fill in a form requesting a form to fill in a form requesting what you actually need. I can imagine their office being full of managers delegating tasks to not many workers whilst hold meetings requiring coffee and cream cakes in which they spout out buzzwords to make themselves feel important.

sorry...needed a rant

Jamie, it wasn't advice, it was an opinion; very different things

and I didn't say the calling was 'rich', I said their reactions are to be expected if we try something on false pretences and then get called out on it

I don't mind being disagreed with, but I'd rather it be about things I actually said wink.gif

Well, when you guys get your approvals today (how's that for trying to be positive?), there are still plenty of seats in this waiting room (the one where we wait for CSC to send our NOA2's to NVC) and we can all celebrate the fact that at least the NOA2's are here. At least it hasn't been a 5 month wait (just 2-6 weeks) here like it was for the NOA2! Hopefully they start sending those out to NVC soon...please!!

What I think is a shame is our goverment doesn't give us any dorect way to check status. And by doing the ref trick I would say one out of ten times there is more info given then the other options in the menue. I don't feel bad in any way doing that..... We are paing for this process and as a customer I feel it is my right to know status. If going through there menue could get me to someone that was actually there I would go through it in the corect manner..

Just a thought
Jeraly
I understand what that is like - I spend all day calling car dealers to see if they have our cars on site to collect - most of the time if I don't know which option to press, I tend to opt for the "hold to speak to an operator" one just because I know that the person I speak to has a better chance of figuring out what is going on at their end or at least who I need to speak to smile.gif

I'd opt for a human being every time smile.gif

Roger that! Their service is pathetic!! They are too busy approving all those employment visas (taking care of big business) and refugee processing, and receipting, and trying to get their crap together after their brilliant management decision to close the TSC and NSC to K1/K3 petitioners. What a bunch of BS.

I understand how you feel. Foolishly back in July I thought I would have an NOA2 by now. I have finally decided to do something completely drastic and just go to the UK for 3-4 months. I have to do a lot of work in the next two months, but I really just don't care. It is worth it to me in the end. Of course, my roommate says that I am being hormal. Okay I couldn't take it anymore and had to call the CSC I was very lucky and talked to a very kind lady that told me my application was on the way to an officers desk right now. smile.gif I didn't use the ref trick.. I listened to the system read me the status message and it had an option to continue. then it gave an option that talked about if I had submitted more then one application together and thought they had gotten seporated. nope, you still misread me... what I said was in two parts: 'a bit rich to call... and then get mad when they get shirty with us that the number was misused'
nowhere did I say people shouldn't do it; I agree; it's the only option they've left us, and that's disgraceful... but it's advertised as an information line for RFEs, and people are blatantly lying about their circumstances; by all means have a go, but be ready to shrug philosophically when the customer service rep isn't overjoyed that once again, the call is NOT about an RFE, but a request for general information

it's a bit like my housemates going on the other day about how disgracefully they were treated when they were picked up for fare evasion on the bus; I didn't get that at all... if you want to chance it and not pay the fare, by all means go ahead, but then cop it on the chin when you get caught out

once again, I will reiterate: I agree that it seems to be the only way of getting anything (though I do think that some people use it too often, which may jeopardise its effectiveness for others, plus it seems that even this route of getting information is extremely limited in value), and I'm not saying people shouldn't do it if they choose, just accept that they're gambling a bit, and don't get all affronted when the person on the other end is less than thrilled at their cunning deception wink.gif

I don't know about a third - would be exTREMEly sceptical of that, in fact - but some have been; check the list here... some who look like June filers just have NOA1 dates in June, and are in fact May filers, but if you click through to some of the timelines you'll see some genuine Juners amongst them smile.gif

...and that's reasoning that ultimately saw me chicken out of ever doing it, hehe. Then again, being a filer later in June I figured if I found out they'd not touched my file since June, just as the website reports, I wouldn't be much happier for having called. A lot of people have already pulled the trick-calling off successfully and gotten the info that late May filers are still being assigned officers, which is as good an update as any. Not like the completely useless customer service reps all the way in New Mexico who just spit back information from the website ("they're working on petitions from April 12th")

In the end, I guess I've just swallowed my dread and accepted that it's really all in their hands and getting any accurate, useful information is hardly guaranteed until USCIS deigns to email me or at give my petition a touch.

Argh, what a month this has been.

I agree with you, the "RFE trick" is pretty meaningless unless you really have a RFE, all it will get you MAYBE, is a useless touch, its not going to make them rush off dig through boxes for your file. Alot of folks here are touch obssessed. I personaly never got touched through my own green card, then naturlization process, my USC case is still listed as pending on the USCIS website, got it nearlly 6 months ago.
I understand peoples frustration, i sent mine in 4 months ago, but there is really no point calling them until you are over the 6 months, just how it is, crappy but true.

the world is not ending, nearly a third of June NOA1's have been approved at CSC already. I wonder why some people get approved, update their timelines but don't post about it on here?

Where did you see that a third of June NOA1's have been approved? I didnt think any June filers had NOA2s yet????

Last time I looked 40 of the 122 june filiers had their NOA-2

You must be right. One third of all June filers have been approved!

Not....

ok here it is
http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/filterlist.php

Okay....You are correct all June filers have been approved...and have gone to interviews.

WELL 41 out of 121 of CSC june filiers have their NOA-2.

Back to the rfe trick.. I called earlier and spoke to someone in Calafornia going through the menue honstly.. I have worked in call centers for most of my life. You get the same group no matter how you go through the menue. Just like with calling a large company like the phone company.. Sometimes you get an idiot and sometimes you get lucky.

the world is not ending, nearly a third of June NOA1's have been approved at CSC already. I wonder why some people get approved, update their timelines but don't post about it on here?

So much for you thinking a third of June filers have been approved tongue.gif
