To u2rsobad,

It is very nice that you guys have dated for 11 years and finally marry. I have been with my fiance for 7 years since my junior year in highschool as an exchange student. And I wan not able to disclose about him to my family for a long time. A few months ago, my great grandmother died and everthing in my family was changed and finally I told my family that I am planning to marry and move to the US. And my fiance (USC) came to meet my family and actually my parents liked him. He is well educated and has a decent job even though he is a new graduate. And we are not planning to have a child, so my parents agree to let us marry kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Congratulations to you and your fiance and I'm sorry to hear about your great-grandmother.

His family and I have always gotten along very well until we told them many years ago that we wanted to marry, but his father did not want his son to marry an American even though he asked me to help his son to get a job after he graduated from college, which I did. (They did however, throw a going away party for me when I left Japan...lol) It's a little different for girls to marry American men in most families. I have several Japanese friends who have married American men, but most men's families are against their son's marrying Americans. Times are changing in Japan ..slowly but surely. What part of Japan are you from? I lived in Saitama.

Me curious again tongue.gif ...Is that normal that they let you get married only if you donīt plan to have a child? I think children are very nice and they are part of the family...? unsure.gif

Thank you for your wishes Maria and John and Ur2sobad biggrin.gif

happy to hear all the approvals for those who filed last May...hopefully we will get approved very very soon too.
every journey has an end ... and our waiting will end soon too smile.gif

Any approvals today? Please update your timeline everyone. The processing time on VJ at CSC is 148 now. But, my timeline does not change. Ahhhh, Crazy. I need my NOA2 now. Do you know how long it will take from NOA2 to each embassy?
unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif

The tide may be turning. Projected processing times may be decreasing!

I just looked today like I look everyday and I saw that both my K3 and K1 visas processing times have decreased in wait time by two weeks!

Whoot! Whoot!
kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Are they catching up from the rush of applications before the July fee increase? This is much better than looking every week and finding my processing time increasing! I know it's just two weeks but it's hope! Anyone else noticed the same decreasing?

Can I get a Whoot Whoot!!?
Ovaltine Jenkins
W00t? tongue.gif I dunno...processing times for K1 are still the same...148 days average...ours predicted date havenīt moved neither way for like a week or two...and looks like we havenīt had a single approval in the last two days...on the other hand if I am not mistaken K3 average date at CSC moved from like around 202 days down to 178 days...so that looks better for you good.gif

I know it is very hard to do but try to calm down sunshinegirl. Believe me, I know that the wait is a killer but it will be sometime before they get to July filers. You do not want to crash and burn before you get approved. Hang in there. good.gif

No that is NOT usual. Maybe she means they don't plan on having a child right away. Son's have a little different responsibility in the family than daughters do and I've been told that's why many (not all) families are reluctant to let son's marry foreigners

So I found edp333 by accident...they filed I-129F 05-23 I think (also filed I-130)...they got approved this Tuesday (23rd) and it says in their timeline...but the VJ statistics that I see on my screen doesnīt list them...so when somebody files for K3 with both I-129F and I-130 it doesnīt show the I-129F in the K1 statistics? unsure.gif
That doesnīt make any sense since when you run the detailed search, it shows if the couple filed only I-129F or I-129F and I-130 together and thatīs when I run a search for K1 visas...so I dunno unsure.gif

I have a theory that the fires closed the CSC and that's why we heard nothing today. Laguna Nigel is not that far from some places getting evacuated. I bet you anything a lot of people called in sick if they did not close the place down.

OMG. i just got the nightmare of WHAT IF THE WHOLE PLACE BURNS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ericdraven
Looks like the fires have effected them a little

Hopefully it won't burn down mellow.gif

if it burns down I'll cry...simple as that.

I know I'll have a moan about any effect on the already painfully slow processing and how everything seems to be against our file getting to the top of the pile......but thats nothing compared to those people out there who have lost everything. My heart goes out to them.

it seems to unreal to imagine that nearly 1million people are being evacuated. 1million. that is twice my hometown. fire scares me to death. we have at least 8 smoke detectors in our house. even candles and matches make me freak out. i can't imagine how scared and frightened these people must be. and imagine the kids!!!!! the great thing is, that americans are SOOO helpful when it comes to disasters like this. everybody is donating clothes and food for these poor people. in germany people would just let you starve as long as you don't die.
SSAH
I want an NOA2! We sent it in the end of May, NOA1 sent to us 6/11... I checked out Google maps which shows the San Diego fires and looked for CSC (Laguna Niguel) and the fires are not that close to that city. Whether thats where our apps are, I'm not sure.

Yeah to you, now can you throw some of that my way so that I can get mine..... whistling.gif Okay, so the real reason why I'm posting is to ask if someone can make up a current list of people waiting for NOA2. Maybe there is one, if so can someone let me know. THanks have fun ya'll

Believe me, I have been sending out my mojo to both you and Ramzis. Hope you both get approved this week. good.gif

Thank you so much, wow, hopefully today. But with the fires I'm not sure what is happening. I was watching the news last night of the houses burning, how sad......it's makes me so thankful for what I have, even though I miss Rodgers so much! Hey, Can you let me know as soon as you get forwarded???

You're just a dancin' fool, aren't you??

Typically the oldest son is responsible for caring for the aging parents, he also inherits everything (whether he wants to or not). I used to tell my fiance when we first started dating, that his older brother is lucky, he gets everything..the house, the business, other properties, etc. And he said "NO..I wouldn't want it and I feel sorry for my brother...he's stuck with everything! He can't move out, he's responsible for my parents (although my fiance & his sister said they would share that responsibility) and he has to keep working for the family business...really not much of a life of his own." Many of the duties/responsiblities are different from family to family depending on their situation. My fiance's brother can't change anything unitil his parents are gone.

It's not being nosy..just curious. I love learning about various cultures and the reasons behind why they are the way they are. I've traveled to and lived in a few different countries, something my fiance and I would like to do more of in the future.

I tried to post a couple of emoticons, but it says there's an error..too many with yours in the reply!
Ovaltine Jenkins
Interesting good.gif I like to learn about different things in different countries too smile.gif

Haha so it only allows 20 emoticons and if you reply to it it doesnīt let you add yours...whoops unsure.gif kicking.gif

Actually some of their field offices were closed yesterday due to the fires, but who knows which or how many of their offices handle our petitions. They should hurry up and get our packets to NVC..after all that waiting..oops..I mean hard work they did, I'd hate to have those packets in their way!
