Does anyone know of anyone getting their medical and police check done before NOA2 and packet 3 arrival? My guy is going to be here with me during our estimated / guesstimated approval time and I dont want to hold things up if he can get them done early. Our plan is to have his parents mail packet 3 to Las Vegas and we will finish all the paperwork together.
Can he do the medical at least in the U.S. ??
I would post this on my own page... but cant figure out how to work everything!
Thanks in advance if anyone has some input

He has to have medical at a facility approved by the US Embassy in the UK. Are you sure he will get allowed passed immigration here, its risky to try and enter the US on a tourist visa when you have a K-1 in process.

The medical has to be done by Knightsbridge doctors in London and the police certificate is valid for one year in the UK. The police certificate takes 40 days to arrive from the date your request is receipted so it is certainly worth getting done in advance.

I already applied for my police check thing so there is no reason why you can't - like someone said, it is valid for a year in the UK

I'm at 90 days since my petition was received... getting closer to 100 - with approvals happening at about 140-150 days (ish) it makes me feel like I am getting closer at least - even if we still have ages :/

I some countires, you can't apply for the police cert ahead of time. In my case, my fiance is in Japan and he was told that he has to wait to receive the packet from the embassy before he can order it. However, they said it will only take about 10 to get it.

You´d probably have to ask your Embassy but on USCIS website there is a list of civil surgeons where you can get your medical for adjustment of status. So you can ask the Embassy, if that medical would be valid for your K1 interview too. And please let us know what they say

as per my july filer post...I need advice from americans where I can find and what I can expect to pay for my fave tipple over there.....a decent zinfandel (if it's red it's not real zinfandel, should be definate dark purple). Over here the absolute min I expect to pay for a semi decent one is £6 ($12) a bottle.
Can't party without my zinfandel...maybe occasional shiraz!

Yeah, there is no sense to the way USCIS operates as shown in how they give priority to employment VISAs over us. This is the worse US Government agency ever.

It's your decision whether or not you are upset. USCIS is certainly happy there is one less complainer, one less fighting for change, fighting for improvement...

I'm not saying don't be upset, but it's getting a bit old when we start complaining someone who filed after us got approved. Be upset, but be upset at the system, not those that filed. I made up my mind to not even announce when I get approved on here. Makes no sense if someone that filed before me hasn't gotten theirs and then gets upset about it.

I agree Jamie. I certainly am not upset at anyone approved before me. I am happy for them because Lord knows they have waited long enough too. I was complaining about the system, not the people approved before me that filed after me.

You are right. People should enjoy their time alone now. They will not have it when they are united with their loved ones!!!! This waiting period can be a good positive thing.....
