Can anyone tell me from Morocco if $500.00 (USD) will be sufficient enough to pay for Visa, trip to and from Casa, and medical to my fiance? And how do send this so he can cash it in to get the money? Do I send it Western Union, or by some other source?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
slbois
That all depends on where he is travelling from and his method of transportation. Is he taking the train or is he flying?
And yes you can send money via Western Union.

Western Union would be my choice too but as indicated above, one must investigate the costs before establishing a budget. Otherwise, there are too many variables unaccounted for.

He is traveling from Tangier. I forgot what we spent on the bus there and the train back when I went over. It is 150 USD for Medical which is about 1200 dirhams there. The visa is $100 USD which is about 800 or so dirham.

I just want to have enough sent to him so when he does get it by Western Union or ? it will be enough.

We don't know because you haven't filled in the variables. When you do, I suspect you can do the addition on your own.

In addition to the above, expenses for the trip will include transportation, food, lodging and incidentals. Investigate the line items of the budget and do the math to get your answer. Incidentals would include the possibility of any needed delays that would prolong the trip.

Ask this in the ME/NA forum. There are lots of women there who will be able to give you an idea of the cost.

Instead of sending all the money at once why don't you send him enough to get started. You can always send more when it's needed. Once he gets his packet you can send him enough for the visa and medical.

As others have stated, Western Union works well but the costs can vary depending on how you send the money and from what location.

My mother asked my fiance to purchase some clothing for her in Morocco and the difference between paying by credit card vs cash was more than she expected (cash is cheaper). Also, some locations charge more and some charge less to send the money so you can ask Western Union what the fees will be from a couple of locations near you.

Also, sending smaller amounts of money twice can be more expensive than sending the whole thing one time.
