I've noticed some members mentioning email notices from USCIS. What notices can I expect from the USCIS?

Are these generated based on the email address I put on my original petition or is it based on my registration on the USCIS website?

Thanks,
CG

They send you email based on your registration at the USCIS website.

You can expect an email when an NOA1 is produced and again for the NOA2.

I never got an e-mail for the NOA1, but as soon as our petition was approved by CSC, I got an e-mail from CRIS.

That would be because my reply was incorrect.

You can't sign up until you have your NOA1 haha good.gif

You can always get an accouunt with USCIS Case Online Status anytime. However, you will not receive any email from CRIS (or USCIS) if you will not input your receipt # (which you can get from your NOA1 or at the back of your encashed check) in your Portfolio.

Aside from getting NOA2, you will receive an email whenever the transfer of service center occurs (like from TSC to CSC).

Island Princess,

I noticed in your signature timeline that you have a link for a "Visa Appointment Website". Is that for all embassies or just for Manila? huh.gif

Thanks!

well today we got my husbands advance parole papers in the mail. no updates on the uscis nor any emails saying we were approved. so they made a lier out of me when i said we get them for approvals.

I signed up on the USCIS site, but since I have no receipt #, my case isn't tied to my online account. I assume that after I tie my case to my online account, I will receive future emails.

So is there any purpose for the email address field on the I-129F?

Thanks,
CG

Yes that is true, my answer wasn't very clear, I should have said you will not receive any notifications UNTIL you have entered your receipt number.
island_princess
It's only for Manila applicants.
