It seems that I tell my self everday that I will not check for updates on here until I get closer to the posted USCIS timeline. Checking everyday only seems to increase my anxiety. Unfortunately, every time I walk by my office I am drawn to my computer like a moth to a flame. Realistically, I already know nothing has changed but I still check anyway. It has almost become an obessive compulsion. Anyone else exhibiting this bizarre behavior?

Most people here are like that! don't worry though, i was in that stage too. then after awhile i just got tired of checking my status online. one day, i checked i was touched since after almost 4 months without any updates! i'm still waiting for my NOA2..anyway, good luck!

I check every day as well. Sometimes twice. I've not gotten a touch yet and now I don't assume I will get one until around the time they issue us the NOA2. I will still check every day though.

For sure, every day, sometimes more than once - - - hard for me to stay away for sure...but I am working on it...to avoid the insanity i feel at times.....

Hang in there!!! It worked for me that I stopped checking the online status every MINUTE and I got the NOA2 right the next day!

It can only be deemed insanity if you hear voices coming out of your computer to tell you to check.

actually there is a cure for this.. i too is suffering to this kind of sickness hehehe.. but the cure is simple.. but I am not taking this cure myself.. the cure is.. CUT OFF YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION!!!!

When at USCIS I called weekly and checked every day a few times for touches. Some weeks I called twice. When at NVC I called daily until my file was gone. When at the embassy I called daily until I got the interview date.

It's your tax dollars at work - check as many times as you want and call if you want also.

As for the obsesssion - yes - for me it was. Anything keeping me and my darling apart is an obsession for me to get rid of. This process is hell on those of us that are not used to waiting for what we want.

Obsession?? yeap. Not hearing voices from my computer yet though...so thats good. I know we aren't due for an noa2 approval yet...but i do feel better seeing some movement. And you people here are just plain awesome. I get so many good ideas here. Its not just coming here to check status...but im obsessed with learning as much as I can about the next step. And I have found GREAT information that will hopefully ward off RFE's or a need for more evidence I don't have. So status checks AND information are my obsession. I can't go a day without coming....

It is hard not to check. I say, check all you want if it makes you happy!!!!! It made me happy checking 5-10 times a day. I think I got my frustration out of me by checking. If I went long periods of time without checking, I got anxious, until I could go log in and check!!!!! So in essence, if it makes you happy to check, then do it!!

i have had my noa1 for just over a month now and not a day has gone by where i havent checked on uscis...at least once!
