My spouse has been in Dubai for about 11mos about 5-6 years back and was in the UK for 8mos last year. One of the requirements in Packet 3 is that she might have to submit police certificates from these countries. My question is - how does one obtain police certificates from foreign countries? Will the foreign consulates help us in obtaining them?

Has anyone been in the same situation?

My wife is from the Dominican Republic and our interview will be in Caracas, so I am in a similiar situation.

On the Caracas US Embassy site it says I needed the Police Certificate. I sent an email to Caracas and asked them.

I was told to go to the Dominican Republic US Embassy website for guidance (in your case the UK) where it spelled out directions for obtaining the required certificates.

The consulate will not get involved, it is up to the Petitioner/Benificiary to present the required documentation

I have seen others on this site ask the same question and get help on here. Would be best to go to that particular country's forum and ask if anyone else has had to do this and get details from them. People are very helpful on here.
