I have applied for I-130 and I-129F for my spouse and had a question on getting vaccination records.

Does my spouse need to get these vaccination records from a USCIS approved physician or is it okay to get it from a local physician?

Also when my spouse went to her doctor he said that of the list of required vaccinations (i.e. mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus, pertussis, influenzae type b (Hib), hepatitis B, varicella, pneumococcal and influenza) the following - influenzae type b (Hib), varicella, pneumococcal and influenza can be eliminated for her. I am guessing this is a decision based on her age group, etc. My question is - if her local physician makes this decision will USCIS accept it or will she have problems at the interview?

She should get a package from consulate that shows list all physician name that are approved by local consulate. I don't think you can use local physician for medical.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS CONCERNING VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

Recent changes to United States immigration law now require immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations (listed below) prior to the issuance of an immigrant visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are now required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the new vaccination requirement, or that it is medically inappropriate for the visa applicant to receive one or more of the listed vaccinations:

In order to assist the panel physican, and to avoid delays in the processing of an immigrant visa, all immigrant visa applicants should have their vaccination records available for the panel physician''s review at the time of the immigrant medical examination. Visa applicants should consult with their regular health care provider to obtain a copy of their immunization record, if one is available. If you do not have a vaccination record, the panel physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirement. Certain waivers of the vaccination requirement are available upon the recommendation of the panel physican.

Only a physician can determine which of the listed vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history and current medical condition.

Thanks for sending this info... however, I am still a bit confused. I do understand that you need to get your medical done from these USCIS panel doctors. But part of the medical is getting the vaccinations or showing proof that you've had the vaccinations.

So what if you have had your vaccination done previously (from other doctors not in the USCIS panel) and do have vaccination records from them. Will they not work? Will you have to get the vaccinations again?

Just bring your vaccination records to the accredited Civil Surgeons/Panel Physicians (USCIS accredited) and they will transfer those record of vaccinations to the required forms. Panel Physicians will also decide if you need additional vaccines like booster doses. Good Luck!

the way I understood your question, is that your spouse does not have previous records of vaccinations that she was given(from the local doctor). Now when she goes fot the medical,, you have two options. 1).get re-vaccinated again at time of her medical and Medical doctor will fill out the the forms(ds-3025) appropriately.
2). you can get a titre test done for MMR, hep. and show that to the doctor at the time of medical.
This is what my wife did just today actually

I am not sure if all the Medical doctors at different places work the same way. My wife is from gujarat. She just got her medical done today (in gujarat). She told me, some people did not have previous records adn they were vaccinated for MMR, td, tetanus etc on the same day. If you do decide to get some of them done at your local doctor, make sure you get a medical history card from them and also a statement on their letter pad saying following patient has been vaccinated as follows.

Thanks for your response. So when you go for your medical and you dont have any vaccination records, they can give you all the vaccinations required the same day? If that is the case, then I dont think I should be too worried. I was under the assumption some of the vaccinations need to be given some days apart and was thinking that might cause issues with interview date, etc. so that got me worried and was hoping to get all the vaccinations done in advance.

yes. but that can happen. either they tell you to finish sequence once you get into US if they need to be given apart. but I am not sure on that part. someone correct me if I am wrong, but vaccinations are not required for K3 since it is non immigrant ivsa? is that correct.? however, vaccinations will have to be complted for filling AOS once your spuse is here in US.
