Ok. Please everyone bear with me here. I'm very sorry to post this here, but you'll understand why when I'm finished...... I cannot start my own thread. Something is wrong with my web browser or something. I havent been able to create my own posts in quite a long time. Its no problem to add replies to other posts. As I'm doing now. But since I cannot start a post, this is the only way I can ask for help. I looked for a post that has very few replies and some lurkers. Hopefully someone will open this thread and see my question here. How can I fix this. Everytime I try to start a new thread, the page loads almost completely then i get that ugly little rectangle from Internet Explorer saying that ...
Internet Explorer has encountered an internal error and needs to close.
I usually choose to send an error report, sometimes I dont. I have even tried using MSN Explorer, thinking that maybe its just IE. Same thing happens. I dont know what to do. I'm so frustrated. Can anyone please help?? If you cant, perhaps you can copy this entire reply that I'm writing and start a new thread for me? I don't know. I think "Off Topic" is probably the best place for this, but I do appologize for placing this here in someone else's thread. I'm really bummed out because I have so many topics that I wish to begin. i'm tired of simply trying to answer other people's questions. i'd like to ask some now. Help, please. crying.gif
Lucky's comments: try uninstalling IE and download and install IE again. or download firefox.

How totally bizarre. I second the recommendation for Firefox.

I wouldn't recommend an amateur try to uninstall IE. It's pretty tightly integrated with the OS.
Firefox is a good idea, though. Jason sasha, click on this link -
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ - and hit the link that says "Download Firefox - Free".

Now now...let's not get all hysterical and start installing alternate browsers or looking for a late-night software store to buy Linux...
Obviously there's an issue with explorer - I don't have an immediate solution but am sure someone will have one soon...

It's not hysterical to install Firefox! It takes two second and means you don't have to use the bloated turd that is IE.

No, I can't install anything. IT controls things pretty tight at Caterpillar. Shoot, it took me a week before they would make my computer recognize my memory stick.

Have you tried? I generally can't install anything here at work either, but for some reason I was able to install Firefox. It was a pleasant surprise.

Odd. You'd think that they would allow you to use a more secure browser if you wanted.
When I worked for the state (Indiana), we weren't allowed to use IE for anything but checking cross-browser compatibility. The sys-admin didn't want insecure bloatware being used on "his" network. I detest IE. I'd remove it if I could, but since it is also Windows Explorer.... well, Windows wouldn't work any longer if you could actually uninstall it.

Attack of the MCSE! For all the people I hear complaining on line about "H-1Bs taking their jobs" and "Outsourcing" taking their jobs, in my experience there do seem to be an awful lot of frankly incompetent people filling IT jobs.

LuckyStrike, Thanks alot for posting this! And to everyone who replied. I never noticed this thread. i will certainly look for an upgrade to Java and then try installing Firefox. It cant hurt. If it fails I'll just uninstall it. Thanks everyone!! Hopefully, I'll be able to start a topic tonight! Woohoo.
