ok so this is my first time posting anything!! i am so confused with this whole process. it is literally driving me crazy!! the wait is driving me crazy. ok so here is my story....i met my husband in serbia (i'm a us citizen) in november of 2004 starting dating when i went back in july 2005 got engaged when i went back in november 2005 and finally, finally got married february 2007!!! i just submitted the i-130 july 3 2007 and the i-129f (for spouse) on july 20 2007!!! i got the i-797 receipt stating they received the petition. then i went to check the website and they kept rejecting the recipt number? so i called and she said to wait a month until they input it into the system!!!! (so annoying) so by chance i figure i check today and to my suprise there was an update!!! it shows that it has been sent to the NVC??? ok so that's where i'm confused!!! does that mean that the petition has been approved and it's being sent to the NVC to be further processed so they can contact the Belgrade Embassy??? please help!! if anyone knows or has had a similar issue i would love feedback!!!

i know that this process takes forever!!! i would love to be with my husband before december 2007!!! also if anyone can update me on how their process of the k-3 visa has been i would appreciate it thanks a bunch!!!

It means that you are out of the s/c....your case should spend about a week or 2 at the nvc and then should be on its way to the embassy for the interview!! you can call the nvc and get an update of when the will send to the embassy..this is good news! be happy

***thank you so much for replying, however, i guess i'm still confused because i'm wondering why it's happening so fast!! i mean i'm glad don't get me wrong but it just seems like it's just too quick to be going to the embassy already!! no??? it almost seems like this process could be complete by end of september???? also maybe this is a stupid question but what does s/c mean???? again thanks for the reply!!!

Sounds like it is moving right along! i think s/c means security clearance. Your case will be assigned a new number for the embassy, so when you make any inquiries at the embassy by email you will have to reference it with the new case number given by NVC.
