Well im glad i dont have to worry about a barber for Medo cus he has long hair. Just the way i like it on my man! Also i cooked for him most the time in Egypt and he cant WAIT to get here for my american cooking. He misses my gravey the most. And the crispy baked chicken. When i mention it to him he says "stop teaseing me" Other then that today im off of work and spending the day online with my baby

We've been moving the last few days and I'm beat! DSL was SUPPOSED to be hooked up at the house yesterday......and it's still not connected. I swear the do-do's at Century Tel are going to make me mental. Now they say MAYBE by Thursday. I had to run to my parents house to check in on VJ! Now that's sad! Jen how did he/you pay for his ticket? Some credit cards automatically cover you for lost luggage insurance. Might want to look into it. I always buy travel insurance when I go away. It is never more than $100 and covers like $1,000 in lost luggage...which is normally worth more than what is packed anyway. lol. Might want to see if you're covered and try to get reimbursed.

well here it is...6:00 pm and i just woke up. so i slept all day and have no plans but to cook dinner and probably go back to bed tonight again.

i still am trying to figure out why the heck on the nights i work i have a hard time sleeping but on my days off i can sleep non stop.

I cheated my first time around. I think we registered at this place that doesn't exist but it was via computer. I got married in '94 or '93 (i can't remember lol) and I would go in (this was pre-internet for me) every so often and ask for an updated list and see what was checked off.

This time around no one got me anything since no one came. Ticks me off when I think of it 'cause my sister got married twice and each time she got presents/money but here I am getting nada. Oh well.

Ok so my assistant just got married and we were discussing my wedding registry and she just happened to tell me that I could go to my registry and click on this area called "manage my thank you cards" and it shows me who bought what......I'm trying reallllllllllllllllllllly hard not to look

First off i would like to comment on everyone's views of thier men getting there hair cut at an african american barber. First all african american's do NOT have course hair! SO i am sure what type of african americans you are all meeting. If you think that they you all are highly mistaken. I am african american and my haor is DEFINETELY not course!! And second if you think that african american barbers are better your wrong becaue i personaly know a few of them and they CAN NOT cut hair at all. My man has beatigul thick hair and when he gets here is least concern is definetly not about getting his hair cut. Its about being with the woman he loves and has not seen in 18 months. That is more important than going to what you all call an AFRICAN AMERICAN baber. And you all need to chill with all these racial statements because personally i am really starting to get affened by them If what i said causes this thread to get closed then i don't care because i felt as if my race was personally stereotyped by assuming that african americans have Nappy hair!! If you all don't like what i said them email me or im me personally i will send you a picture of myself and throw the sterotype comment that you all made in reguards to african americans having Nappy hair and you will see my hair is FAR from NAPPY.

My husband is African and he has nappy hair. I would think it would be best for him to go to a barber that deals in that type of hair. Not too sure what is so wrong in that.

Rahma merely suggested that someone with "nappy" hair, regardless of race, might want to go to a salon that has a large african american clientele. There is nothing raciist or wrong about that.

I can read just fine, now why don't you proceed to show me how that statement was racist? There is no where that says all african americans have nappy hair. There is no where that even indicates what race the husband is. Nappy simply means kinky or tightly curled hair. Many african americans have kinky or tightly curled hair and they have salons and stylists that specialize in that.

What is your issue? There is no reason to make a problem out of nothing here.

I'd say it sounds like they are looking for a barber that speicalizes in kinky curly hair. I have curly hair, and I often say its nappy. You need to chill, seriously.

You can say what you want and that is fine, but when you call someone out for something that DIDN"T happen then be prepared for the backlash. You are making something out of nothing.

Again...as in saying all Irish have freckles I don't think it's a far stretch to say that a lot of Africans have thick coarse hair. I don't think it's a derogatory statement at all just a general observation. I have many African American friends and most go to a hair salon that specializes in their specific type of hair and most have to use a straightener solution. Of course it's not true for ALL African Americans but it certainly is true for a lot.

The first barber my husband went to was Hmong (aka asian refugee from laos). He shaved him bald because he couldn't figure out how to deal with his hair that is umm, nappy. One would assume that next he should find a barber who has experience with hair like his, and since his hair is similar to a lot of my black friends, I suggested he find a barber who had cut a lot of hair like that - thus, finding a barber with a large african american clientelle.

And to get even more racial, how about this - My husband used to chemically treat his hair so he could wear it like white people in the movie. However, after he watched the movie Malcolm X, where Malcolm decides not to conk his hair and be proud of his nappy hair and heratige, my husband also decided to be proud of his nappy hair.

There, I said it. Nappy hair. I like it. I think I'm going to go fluff it now.
