travelcuts charged my credit card $500 for a flight that never got processed (cuz the website continue button wouldn't work) & now i HAVE to call at 6am to speak to an agent to make sure they reimberse ASAP!!!!!
SOOOOOOOOO PISSED
CUZ NOW, THERE'S
$250 (travelcuts - imaginary flight) + $250 (travelcuts - imaginary flight) + $200 (air canada - real flight) + $220 (cheaptickets - real flight) = $920 for 2 one way flights to the US, NOT 4!!!!

hmm, he thinks it probably didn't get approved from my bank (b/c the bank tries to confirm a charge for a service or product while pending), there was nothing there...
he thinks it should be okay..
but now my bank account online isn't showing ANY of the flights under pending or approved (real or imaginary)!!! wtf. why can't companies run their online businesses better!
I just called Air Canada and Continental to make sure my reservations was still there and they said yes..
sigh.
might call the bank later..

My wife used to work on the phone support for Cheap Tickets so this was a common issue. Basically you only hit the continue button once regardless. If it doesn't seem to go through you're supposed to call to verify if it had processed or not.
Lots of call I remember hearing from her came in about the website doing this and people being charged for 2 or more flights like that. Good to see they still haven't fixed it...

I remember ordering a ticket through Cathay Pacific's website and the computer system glitched. Luckily I called their customer service and they verified that it had gone through, then they sent me a confirmation email with my itinerary.
Sometimes I really hate technology.

You can write to your credit card company and contest the charges if this doesn't get resolved by travel cuts. It takes some time but should work, and they usually lift the charges off your card while the investigation is pending.

Liz, next time go with Expedia.ca. Even with computer glitches they were able to easily fix things for me as well as reverse charges. Your fiance is in Richmond, VA yes? Me too.

I used to fly down every 3 weeks and mostly flew United or a combo of US Airways and United. God I was so sick of going back to the RIC airport to go back to Toronto.

I check all the websites before booking a flight
hotwire
expedia
cheaptickets
flightnetwork
travelcuts
After the travelcuts website wasn't letting me finish processing.. i figured that since i hadn't been taken to another page saying my ticket had been processed, or the visa card had been successfully charged, or an email saying 'yay, you can now go see your fiance cuz we charged you'..
I managed to book it through flightnetwork.
you can't imagine the freakout we had at 1am when we noticed the bank charges online

Has everything been settled out, Liz? Or do we have to start throwing some rotten eggs?

well, he's working a double today (10am til midnight) so he didn't get a chance to call his bank and confirm..
he did get a sec to check online to see that the charges were gone from his pending transactions.. and they were... BUT, SO WERE THE TWO REAL FLIGHTS I BOOKED.. So, he's not sure what that means..
hopefully it's just an online system error, and the travelcuts tickets are gone, but nothing else..
I however did check to see that I still had two tickets with both the airlines online and my name is still in the system.
we'll see tomorrow.

sometimes that happens with credit cards.... the charges will show up and then they will disappear for awhile but then come back....

I'd call your credit card company and challenge the claim. I had to do that once when Expedia charged me for a hotel room they failed to book. Making your credit card company fight the battle for you makes it easier on you.
