No were in the benefits listed for becoming a citizen does it mention SSI benefits, my siter's husband is an LPR and just filed his N-400 Saturday. She has told me that her husband would not be eligable for SSI unless he is a citizen. He has been paying taxes and SSI for 25 years in the US, is it true LPR's are not eligible for these benefits unless they become citizens?

No LPR's also qualify for SSI.

Question is easily researched and answered on SSA website.

I read this and it sucks that all the money we pay in to SS we won't get if we save for our own retirement. It should be our money no matter what. This is why they want us to plan for our own retirement so the government gets to keep all the money we pay and we get nothing in return.
