I went for fingerprints (N-400) today, and equipment was much newer than 7+ years ago ;-) I saw "score" and "match" on the screen, and I asked a girl that my 62-66 score means. Of course, she said that they didn`t go by the score. I am just curious if anybody figured it out.

that your fingerprint matches 62 - 66 % of all the unsolved crimes out there...

=) kidding

I'm sure it means nothing..

Good question. I took it to mean a quality evaluation from the fingerprinting software, as in "can match fingerprint to person with 62-66% confidence." It's probably intended to help the technician decide whether or not the scan is good enough.

I know some fingerprint examiners. I'll ask them on Monday and I'll tell you what I find out...
I'm guessing that it has something to do with the pattern and they way in which they classify them so that it would be easier to search within the system. I'll know for sure when I check next week.
