The individual stories of illegals are so sad right? It's not his fault his parents brought him here illegally . . . but . . . we are a nation of laws - compared to many countries they are generous immigration laws.
If we can't enforce immigration laws, how can we enforce any other law? We/he might also just be thankful God generously gave him 16 years living in a wonderful place.
I don't know . . . if we don't enforce the laws uniformly we have about 2 billion other people around the world ready to come here tomorrow - it just seems it needs to be orderly.
I agree. It's a very sad story, especially when it's a case of a child who had no say in the matter. But his parents were irresponsible when they ignored the deportation order and didn't do anything. There are avenues to legalize status -- now he will have to wait until one of those becomes available to him, as well as go through the waiver process. It's a tough and heartbreaking situation, and clearly not HIS fault. Too bad they couldn't hold the parents responsible and just deport them.
