Oh Kelly I am so sorry to hear this

Did the driver at least stop or was it a hit and run. I have never lost a pet, but I could imagine it is very emotional. Hope you feel better soon.
best,
LL

So sorry to hear about your little bichon. My bichon, Sam, was with me for 14 years until he passed awaya 4 years ago. I too was devistated initially with the loss. My constant companion was suddenly gone. All I can offer is the certainty that over time, the pain will subside and you will be filled with all of the wonderful memories of the love and companionship that you two shared together. My heartfelt sympathies to you during these tough days.
Warm Regards,
Samby
(P.S.....yes...."Samby" is a remembrance and tribute to my beloved bichon, Sam, who was such a central part of my life for 14 years.)

I'm sorry to hear about your loss! Losing a pet is so hard. And to that person who asked why it was in a place where it could get hit, show some compassion for the OP. Accidents happen--I live 20 feet from a busy road and my neighbors lost their dog when he broke his chain and got hit.

Sarah - My heart really breaks for you. I've had pets all of my life and have known the heart break of losing them. Don't know if you have ever heard of the "rainbow bridge"....it's the place where our pets wait for us on "the other side".
My thoughts are with you....

the thing is, im 2houses in from a major intersection where the speed limit is 45....he was in the back yard, as always, gate was locked....we think he wiggled his way under like a 7 inch gap....i let him out for literally 3 mins, went to call his name, and he didnt come....i looked out back...No Max, looked out front, no Max, hopped in my car to look for him, and there he was, in the middle of the street....

I am so sorry for your loss, I know the heatache as he was a member of your family, like a child. I pray peace will come to your heart soon. Thank God he didn't have to suffer and died instantly that is a great comfort knowing. My poodle lived after being hit by a car long enough for us to get him to the vet, and have to be put to sleep, that ripped my heart apart.
They have great things at Pets Mart for remberences and that may bring some healing. My prayers are with you in your time of grief.

Kelly, I'm so sorry to hear that this has happened. I had a little mix breed about 10 years ago that had his back broken when he was hit by a bus. We had to take him to the vet to be put to sleep. That was absolutely horrible. I understand how you must feel and I wish you can get rid of the heartache very soon.

So sorry honey for your loss! I've lost my cat this February even before they were talking about tainted pet food. Came home one evening and there he was on the floor! My favorite cat! He was giving my head massages and always followed me around! I was heartbroken, still am! Got TWO other cats to replace him (one just under a month after!) but they are different. Nobody can replace my Tommy! I still miss him a lot! Just let yourself some time to grieve and try to remember cute and funny things about your dog! PM me if you need to talk about it!
Also somebody gave me that 'Rainbow' poem, if you want it, I'd send it to you.
Take care

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your pup. We have a bichon and he is 11 years old now. Don't know what we will do when he is gone. He is like my third child and to my kids another sibling. Only time will heal the loss.
