Hey, everybody! My husband got his visa today! He called the embassy and asked if it was completed and they said, yes it was completed days ago but bc of the bad weather they could not send it out right away. So, he thought he would get it sometime this week. Well, 30 minutes later UPS was at his door with his visa! Thanks for everyone's encouragment and thoughtfulness throughout this difficult process and thanks for listening to be b!tch and complain, lol.

You speak of bad weather? What bad weather are you refering to? My fiance and I have been waiting for a month now to get the packet from the Embassy for our K1. I guess the same bad weather could have effected them sending this to us too? We're getting impatient! hehe

The bad weather that SOlcayto has been referring to is the snowstorm that hit most of Turkey.



Anyway as for your fiance's K-1 packet, I would called the Embassy to see if they already have it there and ask if your fiance can go there in person to pick it up or at least let them know that you are still waiting for your Packet.

Been trying to call for 2 weeks now. Sent 2 emails about 2 weeks ago, no reply. Whenever I call I get a busy signal or it just rings until I'm cut off. My fiance has been trying to... same thing. We try at all hours of the day. I think we're just going to send in our information and skip waiting for the packet since apparently the packet K1s get is just a print off of a web page we already have. I've called the number on the website. Does anyone know a different number to call?

My husband and I got the same thing with the phones. He called 2 minutes after noon, when they say they don't answer the phone, and he got somebody. He was shocked! lol. So, I suggest calling right when they say they stop answering, at noon (local time).

How are you and John doing? We are fine and sorry about not posting our current situation on VJ, but will try to do so soon.

So far Coskun has received his EAD card last Dec and we had recently received his AOS interview appointment for March 23, 2006, so we better get busy and start to prepare all of our documents and evidence

Well got to run off now and wish everyone here much luck in their visa process

Seems we don't have so much time to post any more...busy, busy, busy... I hope Coskuns interview goes well and he gets his Green Card right away. I am not sure what happened to us. I am going to put in another call to the Congressmans Office. The person who helped us before said for me to get back to him February 1st if we hadn't heard anything on Candemirs name check (Thank God we have that option) Sooo, tomorrow I will give him a call and see if he cant find out if the name check is done or not. We had been touched 2 times after the interview but did not hear anything but the following in an email....I dont know, I am getting kinda worried I guess

We received the following email Sooo It looks like Candemir was approved for his Green Card...
"Thank God"! We give so much thanks to the person in the Congressmans Office for soo much help and immediate results.

So the next step is to receive the "Welcome to the USA letter" then the green card will arrive.

On February 3, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

I'm wondering how her interview went as well. I hope she got it! I wanna know what questions they asked.

Aynur (my fiance) got her letter last Friday and she sent in our information on Tuesday. Hopefully the interview will be sometime in February but I don't know. I'll be flying over to get her once she gets her visa. We're both getting really nervous and kinda freaking out that they won't believe our relationship due to little physical evidence and the short length of it (we thought the process would take 8 months and it's taken less than 3 so far.)

By the way, for anyone doing a K1 with Ankara... Once the embassy has received your packet from the US you can send them everything they request. I got the visa, sorry not writing before but my fiance was here just for 5 days so was trying to make most out of it! The interview was easy, i was nervous but it went away after few seconds. I said goodbye to my fiance yesterday from istanbul and came back to ankara I don't know yet when i'll be able to go to US hopefully in 3 months, more waiting for me...
I want to thank you all for your friendship and support, I wish the best to all of you. I think I'll not be able to check this forum as often as I used to so good luck to everyone! See you later!

We sent in the I-90 to get a corrected Green Card...can take 3 months to 1 year they say....We will see how fast that happens. Now the EAD card is no longer valid because John was issued a Green Card...so now we have to go back to Seattle to get the I-551 stamp in his passport so we can work and or travel.... Sooo we wait some more.

Got the interview date today! April 17th. I was really hoping she could get here sometime in March so we could spend her birthday together but I guess it wasn't meant to be. At least we have a date tho! Not to mention 2 more months to build more evidence.

So sorry to hear about your guys problems with AOS.... : never ends it seems....from what I have been reading it is taking some people 4 - 10 months to get the corrected Green Card

We don't have too much longer...Spring officially commences one month from today

We were down to -35C over the weekend with windchill factored in there.

Thank God I have never felt that kind of cold......

We have our info pass tomorrow in Seattle for the I-551 stamp in Candemirs passport ( it showes him as legal to work here and travel outside the US)

....Just got off the phone with USCIS and looks like it will take the same amount of time as the original set of paperwork to get a corrected Green Card....dumbassess!!!! auhh...so tired.!

Is it time to go home yet?? 4pm comes toooo slow now days. I need a Longggg Vacation..!!!

Anyone have an idea how long it takes to get the actual visa after it is approved? I'm trying to find some good deals on plane tickets for bringing back Aynur. I found some leaving April 1st or 2nd for $600 to Istanbul but my work wouldn't let me off for 2 weeks so I'm stuck paying at least $950 now.
