I am just curious how many of you are waiting to have an interview at Ciudad Juarez, Mexico for a CR1 visa ?.. or are you going to be soon in that stage?

We are anxiously awaiting our appointment in CDJ for a CR1 Visa. My husband's case was completed February 6th 2007 at the NVC. Since the NVC now schedules appointments for the Consulate, I guess we will find out from them when we have the appointment.

I'm curious..... Does anyone know whether or not the NVC has EVER scheduled appointments in CDJ? Their new procedure started with cases that were completed in January 2007, I believe. I have been searching daily for more information about the scheduling of Visa appointments. Some countries get appointments much sooner than others. I think that people from Mexico have to wait longer than most others.

This is why we decided to do the K3 instead of the CR1. The CR1 takes much longer, when I called CDJ they told me that if the receive a CR1 from NVC it takes 9 months for an appointment? I dont know if this is true but it is what they told me.

Immigrant spousal visa interviews are currently taking 12+ months to be scheduled in CDJ - the backlog is tremendous.

Best place for updates on interview wait times in CDJ is Laurel Scott's free chat on Wednesdays at 11:00 cst. www.visacentral.net. If someone does post the question (it's almost always asked) you can post it yourself. Laurel's information is extremely accurate. You can also compare timelines with people on www.immigrate2us.net -- her weekly chats are also posted there for review.

I think the best everybody can do is just wait to have the interview and do not consider how much time it will take. So congratulations to the lucky ones who got it in 6 months!.

Thank you for replying to this topic. I was just having hope that it could take shorter than 6 months to have an interview at CDJ, but well based of what I have read from other experiences, it is really taking longer 9-12 months. I just think we need to be more patient and wait. In my case my husband is the petitioner and I am waiting here in Mexico. I am just wanting to go see my husband using my tourist visa.

Have your relative started making plans about going to CDJ? do you know where is the best place to stay? plus do you know if it is true if you get a letter and cartilla de vacunacion from Mexico, at the medical exam you will not have to buy all of the vaccinations required?

Hi xmgirl!! I´m the beneficiary (USC´s father), and i´m planning to stay at el Meson de Maruca. I´ll be flying from Puebla to CDJ, Thursday 25, b/c my appt is Monday 29 at 7:30. With respect to the cartilla de vacunación, i´ve heard that if you take it to the exam, you don´t get all the vaccines.

Muchas felicidades que ya tienes tu cita!!. Nosotros todavia estamos esperando a aque nos la den. Como se menciona en mi profile nuestro caso se completo en el NVC en agosto de este año. Entonces calculo que para tal vez en Abril '08 nos designen la cita. Pero haber que pasa confiamos que sea antes aveces.


Cuando te dan la cita forzosamente tienes que hablar con un operador telefonico del NVC? o solo lo anuncian en el sistema?, tu sabes?

Espero que tu cita sea antes de ese tiempo. Mira, yo supe de mi cita, pues una amiga del foro de Ciudad Juarez, se dió cuenta que a unas personas de Febrero ya le había dado cita, eso fué el Miércoles 5 de Sep., entoces me dijo que llamara, y así lo hice, pero en la grabación del sist. automatizado, seguía el mismo mensaje que decía que mi caso se completó el 24 de Feb., etc, etc.. Entonces opté por un operador. Tardé como 5 min. esperando, y luego que le proporcioné en # de caso, entonces me preguntó que si estaba yo sentado, le dije que sí, y me dijo "Felicidades, se le ha programado una cita en el Consulado de CDJ, el día 29 de Octubre a las 7:30 hrs.". Fué de lo mas amable que puede uno imaginarse. Mi cita había sido programada el día 4 , o sea un día antes de que llamara, es mas ni siquiera habían enviado las cartas, una a mi hija, y otra para mí, aquí en Mx.. Tampoco han enviado mi caso a CDJ. Me dijo que esta semana que empieza, iban a mandar el caso a CDJ, y los paquetes correspondientes. Ya volví a llamar al sistema aut., y sigue el mismo mensaje, por lo que marqué para un operador de nuevo, para asegurarme, y si mi cita es el 29 de Octubre. Lo que pasa es que tardan en actualizar el sistema. Gracias por las felicitaciones, y no te desesperes, pues parece que el NVC, está acelerando los casos, por esa razón hande pedir los doc. originales, para completar los casos. Saludos.

Ya veo... Y pues si es lo que esperamos que ojala nos puedan pronto la fecha, aunque ya mejor no me desespero ya mejor cuando sea su tiempo se dara. Y ya te sientes preparado para ir a la entrevista?

Pues ahora es la incertidumbre, pues aunque no necesito waiver, si me entra un poco de temor a ser negado. Creo que eso podría ser normal, en todo mundo cuando va a la cita, pero a veces te asalta el temor.
Ya verás que no tarda tu cita, pues creo que CDJ contrató ayuda, para aliviar el rezago en las citas y perdones. Saludos xmgirl!!

Pero, tu sabes cuales son las causas por las cuales pueden negar una visa? aparte de si tienes entradas ilegales y registro de policia, etc..

Creo que yo tambien voy a andar desesperada, no se porque se pone uno asi....

Creo que podría ser por mentir en alguna forma, como en la de los datos biograficos, mentir en la entrevista, que si es por matrimonio la petición, y no comprueban a satisfacción del Oficial Consular qu el matrimonio es legítimo, o que algún documento sea falso. Tambien creo que si en el examen médico, uno dice haber consumido drogas, aunque haya sido hace años; sida. Supe de una persona que dijo que tomaba unicamente en fiestas y reuniones, y lo mandaron con el psicólogo. Creo que esas podrían ser las causas, pero aún así, me siento un poco nervioso. Dejé de fumar hace 7 años, ya que comencé a los 14, no consumo drogas ni alcohol. He viajado a EU siempre con visa de turista, y no he violado la ley. Mi petición es por medio de mi hija (USC). aún así voy con cierta tensión.

Bueno pero ya veras como sale bien. Esperemos que todo salga a la perfeccion con tu caso. Y pues nosotros seguimos esperando, aunque todavia no hemos hablado con ningun representante del NVC, porque no estamos esperando a que pasen las 8 semanas que dicen despues de declararon en caso como cerrado...
